We were traveling with our friends on a Rod Run. There were about 34 of us. I would have not picked this Motel, but someone who planned the trip for the group picked it. There was black mold in our shower, the beds are hard and uncomfortable. The carpet was old. Many of said we were glad that we only... More

We stayed for three nights to visit the redwood parks. Terrific stay! The rooms are quite large - a couple with children really could stay here and not be tripping over each other. The furniture and decor are all very 50's (and by that I mean "well-maintained and restored" type of 50's, not "Aunt Vi really needs to re-do the... More

Spent three nights here so we could spend time in the parks. Accommodations were charming, nothing special, not a five star, but prices were reasonable. Staff was very friendly and helpful with area information. Bed was comfortable, bathroom clean and tidy. History of lodge is unique. No real views of the harbor though. Quiet and clean. Would stay again.

What a special two nights we had staying at the Curly Redwood Lodge. So unique. So different from your average Hotel Chain. The lodge has its very own history about being made from one redwood tree, and it has it's own ambiance and warmth. Very friendly staff & owners who answered questions about where to go site see and where... More

This was a last second stay on my stop through crescent city. Did a roadtrip from seattle to san francisco and this was by far my favorite hotel of all even without the continental breakfast...heck maybe best hotel period for the value and ambience alone. The receptionist and lobby were so warm and welcoming and shared with me the story... More

This place was just plain fun to stay at. Just loved the deliberate retro feel. Honestly, it felt like going back in time when my parents drove us around the country or when some of the beach movies were made. Very clean, good rate, friendly staff -- like totally cool, daddio.

We called late to see if they had availability and they did. We felt like we stepped back into time when we arrived. The receptionist was very accommodating and we could not believe how large the room was. Nice and clean and very retro-which was actually a fun change from the standard hotels we had been staying in. The hotel... More

My Husband & I stayed here on a road trip through California. A coworker had suggested the place stating "Amazing woodwork, feels like you stepped back into the late 50's, huge rooms, small bathrooms, no amenities, but very clean and great location." She was right on all accounts. The old decor made it feel like you went back in time.... More

On a whim we decided to take the kids to the ocean for the day. However, along the way we decided to hit up the drive-in movie theater (Red's Crescent Drive-In) which meant we wouldn't get back home that night so we called the hotel to see if they had a suite available that would fit us all (4 kids,...
