This hotel has no pool, no hot tub, no breakfast for free of any kind- not even grab and go- no entertainment and minimal housekeeping yet charges a very high price even for off season. Would have been overpriced at half the rate.

We loved the location of the resort. Close to Lake Estes, downtown Estes Park, and Rocky Mountain National Park. The staff was warm and welcoming. The views from the room were incredible. The onsite restaurant, the Dunraven, was very good as well. The only negatives were that the room could have been a little cleaner - some of the furniture was dusty. Also the sink was not in the bathroom but rather in the sleeping area next to the microwave and coffee pot. It was an awkward set up. However, the positives far outweigh those minor things.

For about the cost of a Suite at the Stanley you can get a double queen room at Estes Park Resort. The Resort does have a nice view of the lake (provided you get a lake view room) but that is about all it has going for it. Our shower curtain had mold spots on the bottom, and the mattresses were not that great. They do not allow pets. The restaurant is very good, but we have eaten there 5 times this year, and 3 out of 5 times were very good, so consistency is lacking. Overall if you have money to burn and want the better view this might be the place, but you can get twice the room for the same price across town.

There are so many better places to spend over $400 a night than this outdated and overpriced hotel. Unremarkable customer service and mediocre amenities. It could have been any motel, in any state. Truly disappointed.

The building and grounds are attractive and well located. It is on Lake Estes, and has good views and access to the trail around the lake and into town. We used the trail to walk into town one evening. We saw a herd of elk on the golf course, and a mink at the lake. The resort has a nice exercise room, but no pool. For $365 a night, I expect a nice pool. The room was nice but had some shortcomings. The carpet looked tired. The bathroom was poorly designed, with no sink (ewww!), vanity or fan. Towel bar was over the toilet, again, ewww! Also no outlet in the bathroom for a nightlight. The sink was in the bedroom, so when someone used the sink at night it woke others. We did have a balcony and a great view of the lake. There was a fridge and microwave. The town of Estes Park is a little pricey in general, but this hotel is still a little high for a place with no pool, worn out carpet, and a terrible bathroom.
