We like to getaway for overnight stays as often as we can. Love coming here in the winter. It’s quiet, charming, lights in town are beautiful and this is really cozy hotel. We like the fireplace rooms on the river. Directly on the river and the rooms are big and the king bed is wonderful. The thing I notice about this hotel is it has to be the cleanest hotel I have stayed in. It’s not a brand new renovated room but I simply cannot find one piece of dirt or dust anywhere or any wear and tear. They do a really nice job.
Front desk staff is always friendly and helpful and they have some snacks and drinks (coffee etc) always available for free. You can walk to town in literally one minute. We like Nicky’s up the toad for a really cozy upscale steaks and seafood and for good basic breakfast and lunch we like the Big Horn just a block west.
We will be back next year!

Thank you for returning to stay with us, as well as for taking the time to write a review! Estes is a wonderful place to visit in the winter, especially when the town is quiet and more peaceful. The rooms on the river are especially great in the winter, with a gas fireplace. We are glad to hear that your room is always clean! We have a wonderful head housekeeper who has been with us for about 15 years now. Her and her team do a wonderful job! We look forward to seeing you next year!

I wrote a review to go with the photos I posted but the review did not get posted for some reason. This was our third stay at the Silver Moon Inn. It is our favorite place to stay in Estes Park. The location is perfect with just a short walk into town, and a short drive to the Old Fall River Entrance to Rocky Mountain National Park. The staff is wonderful. We were unaware that the room we booked for this trip was on the third floor, but the young man who checked us in helped carry our bags up the stairs.
Check-in is fast and friendly. There's a basket of snacks and coffee available all day in the office. A continental breakfast is also available in the morning. We had a king bed room this time with a kitchenette. We usually book the 3 bedroom when we visit with family. Our bed was comfortable, everything was immaculate and the bathroom sparkling clean. We had a small table and two comfy chairs. The kitchenette was great because we could make our own breakfast to start our day visiting the Park.

Our room was "riverside" so we left our window open all night so we could fall asleep to the rush of water in the Old Fall River. There are lots of seating choices along the river, swings, big tables for family gatherings and individual seating for quite time. At night the two giant kettles in front of the office are lit and makings for smores are available in the office. Our grandkids especially liked that on previous visits.

We arrived the first of October for the Elk Rut, but it was sadly disappointing. We see more elk and wildlife when we visit in late May and early June. The area seemed to be under a devastating drought so the Park looked sad and brown. In spring we have seen elk walk right through the property and along the river. There is a band shell next to the Inn for summer night concerts. Parking is plentiful and there is also parking across the river and next to the Inn.

We love the Silver Moon Inn and the friendly people who operate it. We look forward to our next visit.

We truly enjoyed our visit to Silver Moon Inn in Estes Park, CO! Wonderful staff especially Sam & Chad! This Inn is in a great location walking distance to all the local shops & restaurants. Sam gave us some great recommendations for restaurants & sites not to miss. Ed’s Catina really is the best Mexican restaurant in town. We also really enjoyed lunch at GrubSteak! We loved the nightly s’mores by the fire pits that the Silver Moon staff provided. Silver Moon Inn also provides laundry soap & dryer sheets (generic, but still very thoughtful) for patrons to use in their laundry facilities. We traveled on a cross country trip of the Western US all the way up to Glacier National Park, MT and back across numerous States and had the best overall experiences in Estes Park / Rocky Mt National Park! Friendly laid back & kind folks at Silver Moon & Estes Park. We stayed in room 100 first floor of Silver Moon which is a two bedroom family suite with kitchen, living room area and fireplace. They provide linens & fully stocked kitchen utensils. The kitchen has a fridge, stove & microwave. Already looking forward to our next visit!

Friends and I booked a quick trip to head to Rocky Mountain National Park. Very clean, nice people. I liked that it’s basically a motel set-up - makes it feel healthier during covid. Extremely walkable to the town for shopping and dining. Lovely serene setting on a little creek. Would recommend. My only tip would be to get the third floor if possible - the people above us would stomp around and wake us up in the middle of the night, which isn’t the hotel’s fault, but I’d ask for the upper level if I were to go again.

We recently stayed at the Silver Moon Inn for my son's wedding in Estes Park. The rooms are clean, comfortable, and we required a kitchenette which was fully stocked and completely functional. Quiet and secluded, yet within walking distance to downtown. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. When I requested a full size ironing board, one was delivered to my room quickly. The grab and go breakfast offers a great variety of items. There are fire pits in the front of the hotel with intimate tables for evening gatherings, and they delightfully supply all the fixings for S'mores each evening!

What a great place for a stay in Estes! The location is perfect- right on the edge of downtown so everything is walkable. There are multiple fire pits, sitting areas on the river and grills on the property for people to gather and hang out. The inn is a combination of regular rooms and full condo type accommodations so there are options for individuals and families/groups, and rooms were clean/well-kept and had a “mountain feel” to them. Free continental breakfast and major bonus of s’mores kits in the evening for those fire pits! The front desk staff were super friendly and helpful. You can definitely tell the Silvermoon is family owned and has that feel. Highly recommended for a stay in Estes and will be back!

I have travelled the world, and seen many places. I have experienced this wonderful hotel many time, and will continue to do so whenever I go to Estes.

There are few places that have a staff as committed/caring to make guest feel like family, as long as the guest isn't rude/demanding. The staff Chad Manager and Sam staff will be your best friend as long as you are not rude/demanding to them.
If youre rude to them, they likely will still help and be respectful to you, but are less likely to bend over backwards for you. You'll get 120% of their effort rather than 160%. Any complaint you see on this list likely comes from a "Karen", or someone who expect everything to be given to them because they complain.

They will carry your luggage for you, give you candy/food that the staff personally pays for/cooks, go golfing with you, etc. They will greet you with a Hey how's it going Jon (personal) rather than a good evening Mr. Johnson (non personal).

Want a corporate company stay at a Hilton/Stanley. Want to be apart of the family stay at Silver Moon Inn.

Saying these things, the hotel is not without its flaws. But I assure you, if you present concerns to the staff in a peaceful/non demanding manner, they are likely more willing to bend their policy to help you. If you present concerns in a demanding manner/Karen why would they want to bend policy for you/or have you come back? Who in what line of customer service likes a guest that yells at you, demands free comp rooms because a lightbulb was out?

The place fills up every year for a reason, It's a one of a kind place. If you have never been before, I recommend you try. Repeat guest that hasn't been for a while give them a call.

Thanks Chad and Sam for being the best!

Overall, the stay at this hotel was not the worst.  After being checked in by a jovial, class clown gentleman, we found the room fairly clean.  There was a water bottle lid on the ground which I knew wasn't something we walked in and dropped because it was blue and I picked up a case of water with clear lids for the trip.  I figured the housekeeping staff must have just missed it, no big deal.

The room itself was fine, the location was awesome by the creek.

The issue is my personal property went missing and the staff could not have cared any less about it.  We were there one night and after leaving I realized I left a 64 oz hydroflask (think a giant yeti) in the fridge.  These are expensive and I was devastated to have left it.  Since we were only an hour away I was planning to drive back to get it.  I called the hotel and spoke with the gentleman who checked us in the previous day who told me he would check the room and call back in 15 minutes.  He called back and said he could not find it in the room and it was not in the housekeeping's lost and found.  He instructed me to call back the following day and ask again.  He stated I would need to talk to Silvia, head housekeeper, because she was the only one who spoke English.  I thought this was a bit odd.

Called back the next morning and had to fully explain the entire situation again.  I was again told to call back later because housekeeping wasn't there yet.  I called back and they still were not there.  I called back again later that day and was told Silvia wasn't working and to call back again tomorrow!

Called again the next day and was told they couldn't find it and did not know who cleaned the room.

If you stay here, be sure not to let anyone in your room for any reason.  They have no idea who cleans the rooms and cannot communicate with the housekeeping staff (per the staff I spoke with).  If something goes missing they will not care, they will not help and you will not get it back.

I am happy it was only the hydroflask that I lost ($60) and not my camera or phone.

I was really disappointed by how little the staff at this Inn cared about me as a guest or the fact that my personal belongings went missing on their property.

They never called me back, never followed up.  The last time I called, the guy I spoke with just went silent and stopped talking, making it clear I was being a nuisance for following up again to ask about my missing personal property.

There are many hotels and motels along the creek in Estes...I would highly recommend trying one of those instead and hoping for honest staff.

Thank you for staying with us. We want to apologize about the experience that it sounds like you had. I have personally had diamond wedding rings, computers and even a Rolex turned into us by housekeeping. We do take pride with our housekeeping staff. Some of them, including our head housekeeper, have been with us for almost 20 years. Most of our housekeepers do speak English and the front desk gentleman that you spoke with is no longer with us. We do appreciate you bringing this matter to our attention and we will take this as a learning and growing opportunity for our staff.

We so enjoyed this stay! Had the deluxe queen room w/gas fireplace for two nights. The room was comfortable, warm and cozy and the little things like the Bath and Bodyworks products and great coffee added to it. Private patio with table and chairs was also very nice. Beds were comfortable, room quiet. The gas fireplace gets the room toasty in no time. There is also a very large closet area for luggage and hanging coats The hotel is steps away from the local shops with a restaurant located directly in front. Unfortunately we did not get to take advantage of the fire pits as it was too wet and snowy but the staff still gave us the makings for the smores on a paper plate. Would love to stay here again.

Mind you, I enjoy no fuss, comfortable and quiet locations. When I found the Silver Moon Inn in Estes Park this winter I wasn't sure what to expect in this tourist mecca at the eastern gateway to Rocky Mountain National Park.
Hands down, the manager and staff make this a very pleasant stay. They are helpful, polite, respectful and excellent hosts. Compared to chain hotels, this is an enormous treat ! The rooms are clean. The facilities are sparkling, the setting is quite enjoyable next to the creek. Parking lot snow removal is immediate and skilled.

Hello! We only have 5 pet friendly units at our hotel. They are all on the side of the property that is non-riverside. If you would like to be the furthest away from the pet rooms, please book a deluxe room. They are at the other end of the property. However, the standard riverside rooms are also non-pet friendly and are not directly next to the pet rooms. Even though we do have designated pet rooms, we do not have designated pet areas and dogs are allowed on all parts of the property. As another person mentioned, there are a lot of dogs in Estes Park and it is a very dog friendly place, just to alert your friend. Please feel free to call us at the hotel, if you have any questions about room types.
