Travellers' Choice
Imagine resting and relaxing surrounded by the majesty of Rocky Mountain National Park. Coyote Mountain Lodge is the place to enjoy the cool mountain breeze as you unwind from a day of hiking, biking, fishing, or other activities in the park. With a mid-century classic style, Coyote Mountain Lodge has been voted one of the best lodges in Estes Park. We are located on the north side of Lake Estes and have 48 updated rooms, a hot tub, a heated swimming pool, playground, grills, picnic tables, and free wireless internet access. In 2020, to further support the sustainability of Rocky Mountain National Park, we installed the second largest solar array in Estes Park, and now generate our own electricity – one of only two lodges in Estes Park doing so (the first and largest was installed at our sister property, Discovery Lodge). When you stay at Coyote Mountain Lodge, you are taking a step in preserving the Park for future generations. Coyote Mountain Lodge accepts pets and is a non-smoking facility. Upgraded rooms have microwaves and refrigerators. Coyote Mountain Lodge is surrounded by activities for our guests to enjoy. Nearby activities include boating and fishing on Lake Estes, golf, horseback riding, hiking, shopping, dining, putt-putt golf, go-carts, rafting, and of course visiting Rocky Mountain National Park with its 400 miles of hiking trails and awesome drives to the tundra at the top of the Continental Divide. When visiting Estes Park you will find that your visit is never long enough. We hope the next time you come, you will choose Coyote Mountain Lodge.

We booked the day before and this was the ONLY place available in Estes Park, so we really didn’t know what to expect but it looked fine in photos. Fortunately, we were very pleased with our stay!! It’s super bare bones but had all we needed with a great location. Easy walk down to Estes Park and the high point is the breakfast! Microwaveable omelette (with sausage) was good (better than it looks!) and they had a waffle station, bagel selection with coffee and fruits. Bonus: also woke up to about 30 deer right outside our room at about 6:30am!! If you’re ok with the basics stay here! Staff was also very nice.

Worst service ever in my life. Very small room. It took them 3 days to install bathroom rod. Can’t hang anything in bathroom. There was no way to contact manager. Very small room was given for four people. Telephone in room never worked(to contact front desk), so every time you have to walk to office. Bed was horrible and all four days , we slept on floor as any one moves in bed, it will have terrible noises and bed will bent giving you feeling that you might fell down from bed. I did check in review with orbitz and they sent me email stating your review has been forwarded to hotel. I personally went to office everyday complaining about room. And now hotel says no complaints received. This gives someone idea how far this hotel management can godown. Not a place for human being.

We stayed 3 nights here July 2021. The front desk personnel appeared quite young with little experience or interest in customer service. While I understand the current status of hotels not providing housekeeping services; we were not told there would be no room service at check-in. We were asked about a pet at check-in and told the front desk we did not have a pet. He proceeded to tell me about an extra charge for pets. The room was very sparse, the chairs were hard metal and uncomfortable. The toilet was placed at an odd angle and apparently set to clear a very poorly designed door. Although the temperatures were only in the 80's, the very loud A/C unit was not able to cool the room even at night. The TV did not work. The walkway outside had the same dirt and trash the entire duration of our visit. Even by COVID standards, the breakfast was sub-par. I would not recommend this property and advise travelers to look elsewhere.

Nice lodge with well appointed rooms. We stayed in 702 which looked to be a newer building on the property. Room was on ground floor. It was nice sized and clean. Best part was the large deck with view of mountains. Motel is not in downtown so not really walking distance to restaurants. But the positive is that means it’s quiet and away from the crowds of Estes Park. Would stay here again.

Room Tip: Rooms in 700s seem to be a newer building.
