Room 12 is on the ground floor in a small cottage building of 4 units (2 on top/2on bottom) For longer stays it has a ton of clothing storage space with a 5-drawer dresser and a small 3-drawer bedside table. It's nice 2 have 2 windows. The location is only about 15 minute walk into town on super wide sidewalks, all flat, no hills. It's great to have the fire pit area (where the hot tub sits) but those shut off at 9pm. There's occasionally a little bit of road noise since the property sits close to the entrance road area, but it's a low speed limit area and otherwise a peaceful location... It's only about a 3 minute drive to Stanley Hotel (you can walk, but most of it would be along the berm of the road with some hills) I highly recommend stopping by that historic landmark. Drink and dine in the Cascade Room. If you're vegetarian, the Impossible meatball marinara (2 large) and toasted bread is a delicious small plate to split! For late night drinks and billiards, head to the local's spot, The Wheel in town. The Maxwell family owns and lives on site at the inn. Dana was very helpful and friendly. We're delighted that we chose the Maxwell Inn and would definitely return for another stay!

Pleasantly surprised by how nice everything was. Spacious room with comfy bed, clean and fresh throughout. You can tell the owners take pride in it. Vcr and movies available as well. Close to Fall River park entrance and town is just a short walk. On arrival we saw mule deer behind the building and a bull elk across the street on someone’s lawn! A fire pit, hot tub and patio were also available. Breakfast was light but offered a variety of items along with fresh fruit. Coffee was available in the room. Will definitely choose to stay here again when we return. The elk rut was almost over by mid Oct so a little late to see herds in mass but still had beautiful aspens to view. Less crowds and traffic but things were beginning to shut down. Won’t come as late in the fall next time.

Excellent stay at The Maxwell Inn, Estes Park, CO. Sizable room and comfortable bedding; microwave; fridge; heat easy to regulate. Easy access to Rocky Mountain Nat'l Park and delightful River Walk [by the Performance Climbing Park!] to town; maybe 10 minutes; featuring terrific shops and restaurants. Early check-in option a plus. Owner, Dana Maxwell available and very helpful.

We had a great time here! The hot tub was great! Location can’t be beat - short and easy walk into town. The breakfast was definitely light (nothing warm and minimal protein) but that gives the option for brunch or an early lunch. Our room had 2 comfy chairs and a very comfortable king bed. I would definitely stay here again if I were in the area!

My husband and I stayed there in Sept 2022 and loved it! The Maxwell Inn is newly remodeled and spotless. It is nicely located between the town center (which is within walking distance) and Rocky Mountain National Park. Great owners.

My wife and I stayed at the Maxwell Inn over the busy memorial day weekend and there could've been a better place for us to stay! The location what is ideal for navigating the town. Also, although on the town's main drag, it was quiet. The manager was very patient with the questions we asked about the town. HIGHLY RECOMMEND The Maxwell Inn!

We stayed here for three nights. Convenient to Rocky Mountain National Park. A short walk to Estes Park along a paved path next to a river. We stayed across the street from the main building. Our room was clean, quiet and well equipped and it had a small deck overlooking the river. We cracked the window at night to hear the soothing sounds of the river. Dana the owner was quite helpful and friendly.

This is a great inn to stay at! The rooms wwere perfect for the price. The location was great. Just on the outskirts of town but an very easy walk by the river to get to the shops. We had an amazing stay. We used the hot tub and fireplace. The towels are super thick and soft!! The only thing we didn't take advantage of was the breakfast. The receptionist was super nice and gave great suggestions on where to go and eat. I WOULD BE A REGULAR if it wasn't so many states away. Book this place you won't be disappointed!

This inn was perfect for our visit to the Rocky Mountain National Park. Our room was clean and comfortable with and small balcony that was enjoyable for reading and relaxing. Our room was right on the river and we enjoyed hearing the water each evening. It is a short walk from town and just a few minutes to enter the park. Our desk clerk gave us good dinner recommendations. Breakfast was just right for us as we prepared for our days of hiking. We would definitely stay again.

This place has CHARACTER! And the owners and employees really go out of their way to make visits pleasant. It isn't opulent, it isn't urban sophistication. It's character. The furniture, the decor... we found it cozy and just perfect. The property is well-maintained and CLEAN. I'd stay here again in a heartbeat. In fact, I'm pretty sure we'll be making another visit soon. I was surprised at the location-- all the events, shops and restaurants in the downtown area were just a few minutes away.
