Really great place, so glad I found it. Last minute plans to spend a night in Estes Park and 2 days in Rocky Mountain National Park with family. Came across Aspen Winds on the web and was amazed that they had a vacancy. Two bedroom with a full kitchen just a few miles from the Fall River entrance to RMNP. We loved the place. Perfect location right next to the river and as I said very close to RMNP. Also not far from the Safeway for groceries. Unit was up to date with all the amenities. Super clean and immediately felt like home. Very friendly owners with easy check-in. Wish we could have stayed longer. Will definitely be our #1 choice when we come back.

A friend and I have been going there to celebrate our birthdays for a long time, and the owners have been consistently welcoming and wonderfully gracious to us. The rooms are immaculate, they are comfortable, supplies are available to prepare a meal or just make coffee, the sound of the river is priceless to us as we literally "get away from it all." Staying at Aspen Winds is a wonderful experience that we never tire of and we will always look forward to.

I'm currently sitting on the deck to my room listening to the water and watching an elk about 10 feet from me eat some grass! At check in I immediately got a warm and friendly greeting from the owner and the place in general has a very homey and peaceful vibe about it. We reserved a King suite and it's immaculately clean with a comfortable bed, lots of space, and jet tub where you can watch the elk. The kitchen is fully stocked with a fridge/freezer,microwave, toaster, coffee maker, and all the utensils you need. We stopped at Safeway when we got to town and have been able to prepare meals here. The location is really nice, about 2 miles from RMNP entrance and a short drive to downtown Estes Park,so not too busy and not too secluded. I would definitely recommend this place to others and would stay here again.

We spontaneously found this place New Years Eve and just by the phone conversation at the time of booking we were pleasantly surprised...when we arrived were welcomed with joy, the suite was clean, spacious, well furnished and a great place to just enjoy and relax. They were helpful when we needed guidance with some of the electronics and very friendly people in general. Fabulous location, easy to get to and not far from down town Estes. We will be going back.!!

To start of, the reservation process was seamless and 100% online. Check in was a breeze, they have a unique key system utilizing a number pad so there is no physical key.

The room was exactly as shown in the add and even had an electric skillet, flat ware, and plates so we cooked breakfast, a nice touch. The view of the river was amazing, even though it was winter and frozen.

Now, the upstairs occupants obviously had at least one kid, no big deal. However, the kid was noticeably running from end to end. They did maintain the usual quiet hours of 10PM-6AM, but at 6:15 like clock work, it was race day again.

Great room, wont return

Response from Dorothy Rohrbaugh, Owner at Aspen Winds on Fall River
Responded 25 Mar 2021
Thank you for your review of one of our spa suites. The spa suites provide beautiful, relaxing, rejuvenating, and romantic getaways. We are delighted you found the suite great. During our decades in the lodging and hospitality business, we have encountered some toddlers and children under the age of 5 who have excessively happy feet. If we know that a child of this age will be staying at Aspen Winds, then during reservation or check in, we book them in a condo that does not have an occupied spa suite underneath when possible. If you had phoned or walked across the parking lot to the office and reported the miniature marching band above you, we would have relocated you to a different spa suite with minimal inconvenience to you. If by chance another spa suite was not available, we would have found another satisfactory solution including having a polite conversation with the people in the upper level condo if necessary. We are a family owned and managed business and live on the property. If guests let us know of any needs or issues during their stay with us, we make every effort to accommodate them and insure that their time at Aspen Winds exceeds their expectations.

We stayed 3 nights . Loved the room and location. We had a second story cabin type room # 4 with balcony with view of a mountain side and small river.

The room had a complete kitchen and a dining nook with a view and living room with a chair and couch. The bathroom was ok with ample toiletries and a separate shower/spa . The separate bedroom had a sizable king size bed and the room was amply furnished and equipped with comfortable sheets and mountain themed bed spreads . There were 2 TV with a large selection of channels plus Netflix.

The location is ideal for exploring the Rocky Mountain National park. It was only 3 miles from the Fall River entrance to the park and a 5 minute drive to Estes Park where restaurants and shops abound . We even saw herds of elk walking in Estes park during our stay. Highly recommend a stay in Aspen Winds on Fall.

We had a great experience at Aspen Winds. The owners are warm, friendly and accommodating. The room was very clean and nicely decorated. The kitchen was upgraded and the room was comfortable, quiet and well equipped. There was a grill, patio and bench swing to use. Linens were washed every day if you put them outside the room in the morning. The studio we rented was not by the river, but it was quiet and further from the highway. We would not hesitate to stay here again because it was the perfect distance from the National park and the town of Estes Park.

Although it's been over 9 years since we last visited, we found Aspen Winds to be just as special and charming as we had remembered it! Phil, Dottie, Ryan, and the rest of the gang are so warm and hospitable - you are like one of the family when you stay here. We switched rooms at the end of our stay as we were not able to book the same room for four consecutive nights due to previous reservations, but the good news is that we got to experience two different rooms. We stayed in the 2 bedroom suite which is well appointed and the kitchen is great! The jetted tub was extremely popular after long days of hiking, While downstairs, we loved the convenience of being able to step right outside from the deck, but we also enjoyed the spacious vaulted ceilings in the upstairs (and some thought the beds were even more comfortable upstairs). The grounds themselves are pretty spectacular with the wooden swings in the lush green grass and the river flowing nearby. Lots of people were taking advantage of the fishing while we were there. And while we didn't get the elk on grounds for this visit (not the right time of year), we made do by watching the rabbits instead. The location is also wonderful - away from the business of downtown and just minutes from the entrance to the park. Thank you again for keeping Aspen Winds such a special place - I don't think it will be another 9 years until we're back!

We picked this Inn for location and good reviews and it delivered. We appreciated the owners accommodating our later than expected check in after a delayed flight. The owner had even pulled out the couch and put sheets on, knowing we were arriving late and needing to use the sofa sleeper for the kids. The river was lovely to sit and read by before or after a long hike.

Just needed a one night stay. The very nice and friendly owners helped us out in a pinch. The guest suite was perfect for me and my husband. Although not on the river, this room has a wonderful covered patio that would be great for eating, drinking and morning coffee while watching for wildlife. The suite had parking right in front of it, which made bringing in items so easy. The suite was very clean, updated and had everything we needed. So close to the park and to town. This property is wonderful and perfect for a stay in Estes Park. Thanks for the room and the friendly kindness. The Walkers

There are only two 2 bedroom units at Aspen Winds. One is #6 on the upper level. The other is #15 on the lower level. The only possible issue with keeping lower level windows open anywhere in Estes Park at night is bears. I would not be overly concerned about bears, although I have seen them at Aspen Winds and in other places in Estes Park. The upper level one bedroom units at Aspen Winds have excellent cross ventilation plus ceiling fans in both the separate bedroom and in the den area. The main lodge building where most of the condos are located is shaded by huge evergreens. The air coming off the river is naturally cooled by the water temperature. The high and low temperature averages for Estes Park are 73 and 41 in June and 78 and 46 in July. It is rare to need A/C in Estes Park unless you are in a location with full sun most of the day and no trees.

They all have daily maid service. Facing the river, I stayed upstairs. That allowed me to have the best view of the entire area.
