Stayed here for two nights and had a local Justice of the Peace perform our Marriage out on the newly landscaped terraced grounds on a perfect early September day. The hotel is amazing with the history, architecture and ghostly inhabitants. We enjoyed a very nice dinner in the main dining room after the ceremony, where the legendary bar scene from... More

I took my 3 kids in January which was off season which was just that much better. I had heard the rooms were small but we stayed on the 2nd floor and ours not small at all. Actually bigger than some "luxury" hotels we have stayed at. Just perfect for us. Beautiful views of Rocky Mountains. Great staff. I would... More

Love hotels from movies and books, this place was in Dumb and Dumber, and was where Stephen King lived when he wrote The Shining. Really cool local history too, don't miss this hotel if you're in Estes!

It's a beautiful hotel. May need a little work! The hotel rooms are very small. I hit my head on the TV, and the wall by the bed. I'm 5'6! It's fun to do the tours. and learn about the history of the Stanley. We had a nice time, it's definitely a one night stay kind of place. Food and... More

The hotel stay was awesome, every moment of our stay was wonderful. We were in #430, the view was awesome. Sure the room was very small, but also was very cozy, well maintained, stocked, and very comfortable. Honeymoon couples don't need a big room! Its an older hotel, yes, but the charm was ever bit present, and the history was... More

We stayed in the main hotel, room 307, the weekend of 12/19/15. Could not turn the heat down since the thermostat didn't work. Called the desk and they sent a maintenance guy up who had to open a panel on the baseboard heating system and turn the hot water off. Then it finally cooled down about 4 hours later. Pedestal... We stayed for a night for our 10th wedding anniversary. The hotel is beautiful and has amazing history. We took a very entertaining ghost tour and enjoyed our stay. The rooms were clean and furnished with character. Everything was wonderful except for the restaurant. The food was pricey, which would have been ok if the service was not so poor.

Check in was a breeze and we strolled through a beautifully decorated lobby and bar before heading to our room in The Lodge where we were greeted with a dozen roses. After a wonderful couples massage a bottle of Prosecco and chocolate covered strawberries were delivered to our room. The bar was cozy with an amazing selection of beer, wine... More

Honestly the hotel itself, the property, and THE VIEWS are beautiful. I compared it to another resort we almost booked and I'm so much happier with the location of the Stanley. I would probably stay here again just for the experience. We stayed in the lodge, which was nice because you get away from tourist traffic and have a small... More

PROS: The staff were all very nice and helpful at the Stanley Lodge, which is the building next to the main hotel. Bed was comfortable and included breakfast very nice and pet friendly!! Décor in common areas very warm and welcoming. CONS: Queen room #2115 was so small there was not enough room to turn around. No where for two... More
