Cohill's Inn is located at 7 Water Street in the town of Lubec, Maine overlooking the Bay of Fundy on one side and the Lubec Narrows on the other. We provide simple but appealing fare and overnight accommodations for those wishing to extend their stay in Lubec. Cohill's Inn is modeled after the traditional Irish pubs that we found and adored during our travels through the coastal towns of Ireland. We offer a warm and friendly atmosphere for people to gather for pleasant company, hearty fare and good cheer. Come enjoy a weekend or more in one of our nine smoke free rooms and watch the seals frolic just outside our Inn. Enjoy the casual charm of our traditional fishing village, the historic waterfront and the unspoiled beauty of Downeast Maine.

Very disappointed. We saw this Inn featured in Maine Life and were anxious to stay. Upon arrival you have to drag your luggage up 2 flights of stairs. The instructions say to go to the pub and let them know you have arrived. Pub was closed and we finally found the owner after yelling into the open door into the kitchen. His response was “oh yeah I saw you”. He made no effort to welcome us, the place is very impersonal. My husband told him that he had seen him make a smoked bourbon on the show and was looking forward to it. Good customer service would be to offer to make us the drink… only positive was the gorgeous view of the bay. We did not feel that the owner cared or appreciated our business. We had dinner across the street at the Water St tavern and Inn and what a difference, so friendly and welcome and the food was phenomenal!! We will stay there on our next visit.

Nice place to stay but you have to walk up 2 flights of steps (outside the building) to get to your room. It’s very tough to do when dragging suitcases, etc to the top (3rd) floor. The owner was a nice guy and very helpful. The hotel is in a great location. The view from our room was amazing and looked out over the water in this quaint village.

We booked this Inn on their website, as it was the only choice. We stayed in the very busy summer season. We are from the state of Maine so we kind of knew what to expect. This Inn is EXACTLY as stated on their website in every way, including the posted photographs. This is NOT a chain motel and is no frills, but more than adequate to meet your travel needs. We stayed in room 3 and the view promised was exactly as stated....a water view with a perfect view of the lighthouse across the narrows and in fact, multiple harbor seals at play clearly visible at high tide. Location is perfect. There is no parking lot specific to this Inn, but there is a public parking lot (free) right there and a short, easy walk. There is no elevator...all rooms located on either second or third floor, but easily accessible. There is a large porch where there are Adirondack chairs and a fire pit to enjoy for guests. All room doors have a pin code given to you to access your room. Free wi-fi. Comfy king size bed in our room with a homey quilt and soft sheets, plenty of pillows. Mattress was a little firmer than I would prefer but we slept well. Ther is not air conditioning in the room but the window opens easily and there is a ceiling fan so with a cool ocean breeze, the room was comfortable. There is a flat screen smart tv with local cable that was difficult to access and with no written instructions, but we streamed movies easy enough. There is a coffee pot in the room that heats water, but there is only instant coffee and tea bags (yes, sugar and cream). There is a coffee shop only a few feet away that sells all the coffee you want. The bathroom is very small, but there are toiletries, fluffy towels and a hairdryer available. The shower is a stall that is very small but gets the job done, water pressure is good and water is hot. The room had a mini fridge which was nice. Like I said, no frills and adequate, comfy room....VERY clean by the way. Check in and check out was on your own, by text...super easy. Priced VERY fairly for Maine's busy summer season. Keep in mind that Lubec ONLY has two Inn's to choose from other than B&B's, no chain hotels, no motels. There is a pub on the first floor that had great ocean views, a small menu that changes with seasons I guess but something for everyone on the menu and food was very good, prices were average for the area, drinks were great, was an order food at the bar and bring the food out to you kind of place which was just fine. We actually met with one of the owners, Glenn a few times and he was very nice, hospitable and available, a nice touch. Now the ONLY problem one might have with this place is the actual town of Lubec itself.....it is SMALL and has not much to it or things to do. There were maybe three shops, a brewery and three retsaurants, all with weird and limited hours, closed on different days. The brew pub a few doors down CLOSES AT 5pm...even on a Saturday??? No kidding. There is a ferry service that will take you to the town of Eastport Maine, where there is a lot more to do...a 30min ferry ride or a 45min car ride, which we did and recommend checking out Eastport. Campobello Island in Canada is right there in Lubec, cool to check out. There are plenty of local hiking and biking trails, if you are interested in that sort of thing, and State park where you can visit West Quoddy Head lighthouse, a must see. Overall, if you are looking for a no frills, relaxing visit to a quaint coastal Maine community, this is the place for you. If you are looking for a place to shop, or a place to bring kids, this is not the place for you.

Outstanding place for a meal and drinks with nice views of the adjacent water and fishing boats. The burger was the tastiest my wife has ever had. She doesn't often order a burger but truly returned the next day for another one. The rest of the menu is quite creative. I had a vegetable ravioli that was excellent. Great service from the staff and owners.

This was the crown jewel of my trip up the Maine Coast. This is not only Maine as it should be, but America as it should be. I met the kindest people. If you want the amenities of Big Tourist Towns this may not be your favorite place. I enjoyed the chit chat with locals and fellow visitors. I was traveling alone but had more company in Lubec at Cohill's than I usually have in my hometown. I look forward to going back! Make sure you try Ellen's jambalaya. Order early before they sell out. This is not mass-produced food. This is Ellen's home cooking. She can cook for me anytime!

Pretty much the only place to stay in Lubec. Unfortunately their Pub isn't open most nights so hard to find liquor nearby. Cohill's is a comfortable, waterfront location. It had a large room with a nice bathroom. Thee was no complimentary breakfast so it felt more like a hotel than Inn.

We spent 2 nights at the Cohills Inn in late September, close to the end of their season. Location across the street from the wharf was terrific, with beautiful views of the water from our room. Host was very friendly, and check-in was easy. In this time of Covid, we appreciated that the owner required full vaccinations for guests. Yes, there are no elevators, so luggage had to be carried up to the 3rd floor, but that was no problem for us. Bed was very comfortable and the room was clean. Appreciated the frig, but would have also liked a small microwave. Bathroom could use more towel bars or rings, but towels and shower were great. If you travel to Lubec late in the season, be aware that there may not be many restaurants to be open, but there is a grocery store close by. Overall, I’d recommend Cohills to anyone.

We were warmly greeted and handed our code for the room lock. Our room #9 on the third floor. which has the full view of the water. That was the best at Cohill's Inn. Climbing outside and inside stairs, along with luggage, and the few times we left the room, gave us our workout for the day. No ADA here it is an old waterfront building. The hallway shows its age & dreary. The room has outdated/worn few pieces of furniture, antique t.v., a very small bathroom. The bed was comfortable and leaving the windows opened brought comfort, as well. Only staying one night was okay for no-frills.

The Inn is a great location with lovely views of Bay of Fundy. It is your basic room with comfy bed but the walls are thin. I could hear ‘snoring’ in the next room. I’m a light sleeper and have learned to pack earplugs. The restaurant is open limited days of the week and hours; check ahead. The food offerings say “Small Plate” but don’t be fooled. You will not walk away hungry. The food is excellent.

We stayed a couple of nights to round off a month in Maine. Fantastic view of Canada right out of the window, and a comfortable bed. This was right in the middle of the COVID chaos, so sadly we didn't get to sample the restaurant. But I'd recommend it for anyone who wants to venture to the Eastern edge of the USA.
