Clear your head of the negative reviews you have read and on this hotel and start over. This is a HISTORIC hotel. Hotel Congress is preserving the history with this great location instead of adding all of today's modern bells and whistles. If you want a flat screen TV, a sleep number bed and the ability to connect your iPhone...

I'm a native to Tucson. Have stayed at the Congress Hotel several times. This trip I was so very, very disappointed. The place looks to be falling apart, in need of a major renovation. My bed was right next to a window and there was a half inch gap letting cold air and traffic noise in. The tub was filthy....

Dear AZCatie, I am sorry that we did not meet your expectations, we try very hard to say historic, but your perception of us being run down is disheartening. I would like to have the opportunity to address the issues with your room but after I looked through them I could not find the issues you spoke of. Please reach...

I was treated warmly from check in until check out. Having moved to Tucson only a few weeks ago and having no family in town, I decided to start a new Christmas Tradition, part of which included staying in the Hotel Congress. The hotel has the feel of being old, dark carpeting and wall paper and no tvs in the...

Another great stay at The Congress Hotel. I was there this weekend & had a great time. The staff are always friendly & the atmosphere is "electric". This is just a fun spot. I saw "The Cult" across the street at the "Rialto". You have a bunch of very interesting things to walk to & you get a real good...

I stayed at Hotel Congress for two nights on the weekend. It's a lovely building and the service was excellent. Our Cactus Garden Room was basic but quite charming. The first night was a bit noisy due to a private event in Copper Hall, but we still slept very easily. It's hard to beat the price and location, and the...

Dear Kristin H, Thank you for staying with us, Sundays are my favorite day because the Hot Club of Tucson plays live music, the Bloody Mary Bar in the Lobby and Brunch in the Cup Café bring out the best crowds. Sorry about the noise some nights there is no escaping it but most of the time guests get into...

Staff was very friendly. Great location for downtown. Extremely clean room, but small and no TV (I expected this from a historic hotel). Lots of street and train noise at all hours of night. Bed was way too soft. I always wanted to stay here and now that I've done it, I probably wont be coming back.

Dear scardott, I am glad that you finally got to stay here after wanting to for a while, and am even happier that the staff was friendly and added to your stay. I was in town to attend the All Soul's Procession. The parade route had changed since my last visit, and the hotel staff were quick and capable to inform me of the new route, and arranged free nearby offsite parking for me. There was even a map available at the front desk. The Hotel Congress is an older hotel with...

If you're looking for a 5-star-fall-over-the-staff experience, this is not the place to stay. But, if you want character, a lot history, and enjoy the old world charm, Hotel Cogress is a Gem. very conveniently located in downtown Tucson. Lots of bars and restaurants around... But why go out, this place has something going EVERY night.

My room at the Historic Hotel Congress was as promised. Queen sized bed. Bathroom. Free wi-fi. There was no TV, but they told me that in advance. And that's fine. But they didn't tell me how spare the room would be. It really didn't speak so much about being historical as being without much personality. Sorry. But that's how I...

I love the Hotel Congress, even on a noisy night I love this place! Its alive, full of vitality and energy, and the food is great. I always like who is at the front desk and if noise is an issue, they have ear plugs. The rooms are always clean, beds comfortable, and no TVs, I like that!

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The Hotel Congress is listed on the National Historic Hotel Registry. We pride ourselves on the many unique features we offer that you'd be hard-pressed to find elsewhere. This historic Tucson hotel transports you back in time. Some cynical city-slicker types might notice the absence of a television in any of our 40 rooms and feel slighted. But it's intentional - we strive to maintain the Hotel's original ambiance - from the iron bed to the vintage radio, from the comforting rumble of the nearby iron horse to the retro-style phone that actually connects to a switchboard at the front desk. All rooms are uniquely designed offering an original experience every time and unlike most historic hotels, all rooms have private bathrooms, free high speed internet, and a private guest lounge. The lounge offers our patrons a large-screen television with unlimited channels as well as free computer access. You can also enjoy the exclusive outdoor patio, where you can soak-up the Tucson sunshine year round. We have new upgrades for our guests, to ensure an amazing experience during your stay at Hotel Congress. *Bike Program - We now have bicycles that our guests are able to check out to explore Tucson during their stay! We recommended guests to bike the Santa Cruz River Trail, and the Train Trail behind Maynards Market and Kitchen. Let us help you explore Downtown Tucson in a new way! *Snacks from local vendors - Enjoy some treats from our local vendors. Every room has a tray filled with a variety of snacks that are available to purchase. We have: Cactus candy, Rbar Energy Bar, Spunlight Cotton Candy, Green Valley pecans, Essentia Ionized Water, POPPED Artisan Popcorn, Cerreta Candy Co., and the Kobito Hangover and Love Kits. *Guest Room Internet - We now provide super high speed wireless Internet in our guest rooms that is 10x faster than before! ... more   less
