It has been years since I was here but it is nice to be back. Very clean, very friendly, and well run establishment. We were there for a festival and enjoyed our stay. I really liked the place and this part of the U.S. When in town again I would stay here again. It was nice to be back. Clean,...

Nearly all of the bad reviews on TripAdvisor seem to focus on the noise but the hotel is VERY clear and honest about the music and street noise you can expect. We stayed here on a Wednesday night in one of the rooms overlooking the street (but not over the nightclub), and it was fine. Yes it's a busy trendy...

I would just like to add something to my earlier review of the Hotel Congress, in which I complained about the noise and the failure of management to address our issues. I still stand by my complaints regarding the noise level of the hotel. However: The hotel manager did telephone my girlfriend after receiving our complaints and apologized for the...

Just came back from my stay at this hotel and it was fabulous! I requested a "quiet room" and even though there was some noise on Saturday night, it didn't bother me. My room was on the second floor but faced the street. The hotel is in the best location, close to everything. If you have a chance try to...

Dear laine25Phoenix_AZ, We are in the heart of downtown as you got to experience, and luck for us that means we are surrounded by the night life of Tucson and a lot of daytime activities. Tempest DuJour happens to put on a variety hour once a month and I have been able to catch a couple, she is amazing. I...

We headed to Tucson for a graduation at the University of Arizona. Wanting to stay close to the campus I chose the Hotel Congress. We were told when we checked in about the noise (that would be music and people having fun), and were given a room on the second floor right over the night club. Now mind you, one...

Dear bananners, We embrace our noise, and the charm of being Historic; our goal is to find guests that understand what we have to offer. If I am not mistaken I think you were also the guests that took the art off of the walls because you were worried with the pulsating walls that they would fall and break. Thank...

Dear TravelingTings, Your review is right on, and is what we are about. We are loud, next to a train and built before installation. With that said we are in the heart of Downtown Tucson and like to share with our guests everything that Tucson has to offer. Thank you for being our guest, Julie Brown Hotel Rooms Manager Hotel...

I really loved this hotel. I was nervous booking because of the mixed reviews on tripadvisor, but was pleasantly surprised. It is oozing character, has a fabulous restaurant, great bar and hosts fantastic bands regularly. We had Breakfast at the Cup Cafe and also a Bloody Mary from the bar, both were exceptional. Everyone we interfaced with was polite and...

While I didn't stay at this hotel, I enjoyed the bar. Loved one of the signature cocktails, the Ghost Orchid. Great bartender. Enjoyed the $5 apps, nachos and Papa Frites. Great art and atmosphere. Definite return.

Knew the hotel was known for noisy so we requested in advance a cactus room (more interior but they only have a few). The noise did not bother us at all in that room. Dear Love2dine054, We are Historic and when guests ask about our room sizes I tell them that we are "Historically" sized. Some of our rooms are bigger than others but 205 is one of the smallest rooms. We even have one room that can only accomodate a single twin. I am glad that size was the only draw back. When...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The Hotel Congress is listed on the National Historic Hotel Registry. We pride ourselves on the many unique features we offer that you'd be hard-pressed to find elsewhere. This historic Tucson hotel transports you back in time. Some cynical city-slicker types might notice the absence of a television in any of our 40 rooms and feel slighted. But it's intentional - we strive to maintain the Hotel's original ambiance - from the iron bed to the vintage radio, from the comforting rumble of the nearby iron horse to the retro-style phone that actually connects to a switchboard at the front desk. All rooms are uniquely designed offering an original experience every time and unlike most historic hotels, all rooms have private bathrooms, free high speed internet, and a private guest lounge. The lounge offers our patrons a large-screen television with unlimited channels as well as free computer access. You can also enjoy the exclusive outdoor patio, where you can soak-up the Tucson sunshine year round. We have new upgrades for our guests, to ensure an amazing experience during your stay at Hotel Congress. *Bike Program - We now have bicycles that our guests are able to check out to explore Tucson during their stay! We recommended guests to bike the Santa Cruz River Trail, and the Train Trail behind Maynards Market and Kitchen. Let us help you explore Downtown Tucson in a new way! *Snacks from local vendors - Enjoy some treats from our local vendors. Every room has a tray filled with a variety of snacks that are available to purchase. We have: Cactus candy, Rbar Energy Bar, Spunlight Cotton Candy, Green Valley pecans, Essentia Ionized Water, POPPED Artisan Popcorn, Cerreta Candy Co., and the Kobito Hangover and Love Kits. *Guest Room Internet - We now provide super high speed wireless Internet in our guest rooms that is 10x faster than before! ... more   less
