The Congress does it all. atmosphere, service and staffing, food and drink. your in the middle of Tucson nightlife action with Congress Street on one side and access to 4th Ave. on the other. all in walking distance so your auto stays parked. Baked Eggs for breakfast, pastrami on rye for lunch. gotta visit Tucsons best bartender Barb Trujillo.

Stop here to see the beautiful hotel interior including two historic wooden telephone booths, a table made out of copper pennies, a floor of pennies in the Cup Restaurant and a corridor lined with a display on John Dillinger. Staff were friendly and helpful and gave us a leaflet about the hotel. You can also sit on the terrace for...

Had a great time at the Congress. Indoor outdoor spot right in the heart of it all. Huge crowd but the outdoor area is large and gives you space to breathe. Usual dj dance music and club prices drinks but the character of the place is unique. Pro tip: Try the nachos..delicious!!

We had a nice visit to Tuscon and spent the night at the Congress. Reviews as well as front desk staff made it clear that this is a "noisy" hotel. We did not heed the warnings and had a very sleepless night in this very "noisy" hotel! If you plan to stay up very late to join the party this...

Hotel service like it used to be, with quick respect, efficiency, and deference, as if we really were important, as guests of the Congress. Our two night stay was an escape from current busy-ness, with adult children having as much fun in the patio bar, lobby bar, tap room, and atrium. Didn't look at a TV for two days, and...

I have always wanted to stay here. Finally, took a chance and booked the room the night before we left for Tucson. Reminders were placed on the website and also in the rooms of how loud this place can get. I did not experience that. I feel that if you love city life, busy streets, music...then this place is for...

A nice bar in a historic downtown hotel. There is a lot of history to this place and the bartender had many a stories to tell of it. My husband and I didn't stay at the hotel, just stopped in for a quick drink along the street car path. The only reason it was given four stars is the bartender...

This place is great. Historic, different, fun, quirky, in the heart of downtown. I wouldn't recommend this place if you're looking for a peaceful and early night sleep. We expected it'd be loud considering the nightlife and location, but there were earplugs provided in the bathroom. We had a lot of fun at this hotel. The staff is wonderful, from...

Thank you so much for the wonderful review. We are glad that you enjoyed all the friendly staff. The Cactus Garden Patio is a one of kind in downtown Tucson and can only be enjoyed by hotel guests. We look forward to your next visit.

It was fun to step out of the norm and try this blast from the past. Great food and drinks with plenty of downtown activities within walking distance. It can get a little loud on certain evenings but quiets down around 1am. I will definitely plan another stay in the future.

Orchestrated ruckus--a place desperately seeking a personality. Sleep there only if you don't need to sleep. Also, was told upon check-in "Thanks to our liquor license, you can bring alcohol in from outside." EXACT WORDS. Then, after I did just that, I had a bottle of wine confiscated as the "hostess" (not sure what else to call her) attempted to...

We are so sorry to hear your stay with us wasn’t a pleasant one! Being located in the heart of downtown Tucson above a restaurant and club can certainly pose noise issues to guests. We are diligent about informing our guests when booking a room and upon arrival of noise factors, and often suggest booking our Cactus Garden rooms during...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The Hotel Congress is listed on the National Historic Hotel Registry. We pride ourselves on the many unique features we offer that you’d be hard-pressed to find elsewhere. This historic Tucson hotel transports you back in time. Some cynical city-slicker types might notice the absence of a television in any of our 40 rooms and feel slighted. But it’s intentional – we strive to maintain the Hotel’s original ambiance – from the iron bed to the vintage radio, from the comforting rumble of the nearby iron horse to the retro-style phone that actually connects to a switchboard at the front desk. All rooms are uniquely designed offering an original experience every time and unlike most historic hotels, all rooms have private bathrooms, free high speed internet, and a private guest lounge. The lounge offers our patrons a large-screen television with unlimited channels as well as free computer access. You can also enjoy the exclusive outdoor patio, where you can soak-up the Tucson sunshine year round. ... more   less
