Was a little weary at first of the camp ground but our site was so close to the ocean I grew to enjoy it. decent places to walk around and enjoy the views. small store on the grounds but they don't sell a whole lot. They do a good job of keeping the place clean. The one thing I can... More

It is only getting 3 dots because it is lacking on the amenities right now. They are in the process of fixing it up and the locals are paying for it. (awesome) The location is perfect and has a lot to offer. 5 minutes to Salem and all the history. But a walk around the park and you area walking... More

This is not your normal camp ground, but in a area where there are none close to town it really was okay. I read the other reviews and was concerned but decided to risk it for the location. We were up in the field but I would suggest you try to get a site in the parking lot. Sound strange,... More

Okay it is a campground mainly focusing on rv's and therefor has a carpark feel. But is has a Nice harbor feel, is close to a quiet beach and in european standards on walking distance of Salem (2km). It is the closest you can camp to Boston. Very Nice to take the Ferry to the city center.

OK so I reserved back in beginning of April. My site was not only in the parking lot (some spots against factory or marina edge were just ok) but we were given the site at the old entrance house. Literally between sidewalk n rd.. when trolley came guide was looking in RV and still talking. Unacceptable site for anyone but... More

We camped three nights here in a tent. The campground is on a great spot on the ocean. It's on the site of a former Coast Guard facility. Our site had a great view and partial shade. The bathrooms were cleaned daily and everything was well maintained. The last night we were there severe storms were forecast and the staff... More

I have been going to Winter Island for about 11 years now. The first time I went I (husband made the reservation for a fishing tournament) I was so upset when we pulled into a parking lot!!! Well, I gave it a chance and we have always had a wonderful time on each visit. This year we managed to book... More

The park itself is set on the coast. At first I thought it was just a harbour but on the second night we discovered the beautiful cove. I would give this place 5 stars but quiet time is not observed. A trailer full of men played music, cursed, got drunk and smoked pot until the early hours of the morning... More

We were very disappointed with Winter Island as an RV park. As you can see from the photo our "water front view" site was actually in the marina car park. There was water and power but no sewerage connection, nor was there a dump station. There was no laundry and the restrooms were dire. For all this are still paying... More

Pretty harbor/marina/beach. Decent bath house. Accessible by public transportation into Boston. Two trains and a $6 taxi at midnight.... people were very helpful in helping us navigate. Our site was in a parking lot up against a vintage (ugly) factory, but there were other sites in a more proper park!! We did not care as we were "doing" Boston and... More
