Loved this hotel very much. The beds were fantastic, location is right on the water and walking distance to where ever you want to go. Rooms were nice and quiet with a great 2nd area to hang out in and a beautiful faux brick wall. You can just park your car and forget about it during your stay!

Loved this location on Riverwalk! This hotel was very busy while we visited on a spring family trip . AJ and Fast Eddie helped us gets bags in and out. Valet was expensive but usually fast. Everyone we encountered there was so friendly and helpful. Bar was super busy due to a conference at hotel but they were working hard to get drinks out! Enjoyed happy hour margaritas each night before dinner. Loved the suite set up since we had kids with us. It was perfect. Will return if we get a chance to come back to San Antonio!

This was the second visit to this hotel and sadly, it will probably be our last. We usually stay here due to the proximity of an event we attend and the bar, actually, is the nicest part of the hotel. But the age or wear and tear of the hotel, overrides that.. Simply put, it needs an overhaul and a good sweeping. The carpet had debris in lots of place, the hair dryers looked as if they'd been purchased in the 70's, and the shampoo and conditioners were terrible. If this hotel is going to promote itself as it does, it's the. little things that prove it is only 3 star. I will say the hotel has two people that know how to deliver service: Thurston upstairs, and Francisco in the restaurant. They understand the concept of top notch service. How about asking them what this hotel needs? Better yet, ask your hotel guests. Sadly, we will not be back.…

The room I was provided with was very dark and dank. It was like being in a dungeon. I immediately checked out. This was my first time staying at the hotel. Never again. I imagine there are better rooms, but the one I got wasn’t one of them. Considering that I told the desk clerk it was my first time there, I am surprised that I got what must have been one of the worst rooms in the hotel. Full daylight outside, but the room is pitch black inside. Smelled like the carpet was damp. Just the thought of it makes my blood boil. Valet service horrible. I checked out within 10 minutes of being there.

Our company’s stay at the Hotel Contessa was made significantly better during this year’s annual AFPM conference due to the BEST STAFF around. Special shout-out to Juanita for being super patient and helpful in checking in our large group; shout-outs also to Natazha, Madi, and Alex for their above and beyond help; and lastly, a huge thank you to Monica for being accommodating with our meeting event and conference room needs. You definitely cannot beat the TOP NOTCH customer service at the Hotel Contessa. Thank you all!

Great rooms, bar and restaurant. Very central location on the riverwalk close to a lot of bars and restaurants. Rooms were huge and much cheaper than some other high end hotels. The whole experience was great.

The room was very nice. Location was perfect for exploring San Antonio by foot. Room was very clean, spacious and view of the river walk was nice. The staff was courteous and very friendly. We would definitely recommend the hotel to friends.

Savannah at the front desk was outstanding! Very helpful and welcoming……wanted to make sure I was comfortable with my upcoming stay. My room keys didn’t work when I arrived at my room and the Engineer was at my room giving the problem 5 min later.

The staff is wonderful. I checked in and was upgraded to a riverwalk room, without even asking for it. Had drinks at the bar, bartenders where friendly. When checking out was on the elevator with Eddie bellman, grabbed my belongings for me to help. Overall this place is great. I have been in and out of hotels for 33 years as a flight attendant and would say one of the best experiences I have ever had. Hotel is in a great location, clean and the rooms a spacious. Hands down the best.

What a gorgeous hotel. Great service, comfortable room. Roof top pool was so special. We had drinks at night with the sky view so relaxing even while other families playing in pool. The bar has plenty of different seating options from bar front to tables to lounge areas.
