WOW, this place is something else! Nice clean hotel. Good breakfast, and snacks! Most importantly what makes this place great is the staff, from Tammy in the breakfast area too Ken and Matty in the lounge just to name a few. The staff take time to give you a friendly smile and take time out of their busy day to be more than welcoming. This is day 3 of a 5 day stay, and even though the weather is not cooperating the staff here still ensure a person has a great time! Thanks again, we will be back when in the area I can't imagine staying anywhere else.

Valet staff are amazing, remembered who we were when we went to check out too.
The room had a nice view and beds were so comfortable (soft & supportive) with 4 very good pillows.
There were two spas and a pool on the rooftop with a wonderful view of the city and the sunset.
They offered a good hot breakfast, beverages all day, (unexpected so still cool, but low-quality) alcoholic beverages and a "snack" that was basically dinner of descent quality from 5-7 each night,
The River Walk is at the edge of the block and the most beautiful part of the walk with holiday lights was off the street right outside the hotel. Just as we were leaving we found there is also an entrance from the "B" level directly onto to the River Walk.
Mask adherence was good. The room appeared clean and the remote was sealed in plastic to demonstrate cleaning efforts.

We recently stayed for a couples getaway. Hotel location was good, but construction projects surrounding the hotel has traffic down to one lane on both sides which caused backups at peak hours and made it hard to get into the hotel parking lot. Speaking of, while our car was parked in the garage the valets rifled through my change bin and stole all of my change leaving loose change strewn all over the floorboard. There is a public garage next door. I will be using it next time. Major construction on other buildings caused some morning noise. The Terrace rooms are in a separate building so you have to go up to 6th floor, crossover and then take another elevator up to the rooms. Not a quick trip if you need to run down for coffee, etc. The indoor pool is within that building on the 9th floor so a bonus there. Breakfast is served cafeteria style, with a wide range, but we found most items were cold and lifeless. There is a taco restaurant right across the street with excellent breakfast tacos. The bar is closed due to Covid so we weren't able to order food, etc I wouldn't stay there again if I had to pay the same amount that we did. Bird scooters are everywhere downtown, so basically anywhere you stay is within minutes of everything else. NIce Hotel. worth the value, but probably choose different next time.

My wife and I stayed at the Drury Plaza Riverwalk for 6 nights in February 2020. Our suite was in the San Fernando Tower, which was very nice. It had a balcony overlooking the plaza and San Fernando Cathedral. The front desk employees were all extremely personable and professional, with the single notable exception of the male employee who checked us out at 4:30 am on February 12. Housekeeping service was sporadic and inconsistent. The free breakfast was average at best, and the menu did not change over the six days we were there. It would also have been nice to have more fresh food options and gluten-free options. The hotel also provides free (to hotel customers) a 5:30-7:00 pm Kickback meal with mixed drinks included. However, again, while the food was fine the menu changed little if at all over the 6 days we were there.

Rented the jacuzzi suite to give my lady a wonderful romantic weekend. The decor was not geared toward romance at all. And the carpets were dirty room not clean as a whole. The shower floor was old and nasty, no coffee or any goodies in the room, no room service. There was toliet paper hanging from 2 white things on the ceiling you could see laying in bed. The hallways leading to the room were dirty and the elevator was dirty too. Food was not bad just needed crackers with chili and cheese on my eggs. So if you are looking for a romantic setting jacuzzi suite this is not it. TV, jacuzzi tub, bed was nice. But for the hefty price you pay for a jacuzzi suite for a romantic weekend this will not do it for you

Old is charm when it is kept well maintained, especially for any hotel. Well, I trusted TripAdvisor's reviews and booked two nights in Drury Hotels in Riverwalk. It was a disappointing experience. As a hotelier, we know distinct differences between hotels and motels. A hotel is a building with rooms and beds. It comes alive when people put their effort to make it a pleasant stay for its guests. It is apparent lots of people who reviewed this hotel were obsessed with the aspect of the historical building setting, free high school cafeteria style breakfast, evening free meals, and newly renovated bathrooms. There is nothing wrong with personal preferences, but it doesn't deliver a neutral, complete review for the hotel which will help others. I am not against old buildings, but this hotel is very old and needs a huge renovation. Let me explain why.

We had two rooms on the 14th floor that were the filthiest rooms we have ever seen. The entire floor had a pungent odor. The floor was wet with pet urine. Wearing a mask was making it even more difficult to breathe normally inside the room. I went to the front desk to complain, and they changed my room, which was prompt and nice. They moved us down to the ninth floor with a little bit cleaner room, this time one room had a broken toilet. They were able to accomodate one room on the 19th floor, the only thing that was up this time was the floor, and the room condition was the same. We noticed that the remote control was the cleanest thing in the room. Now you can picture the rest. The rooms are spacious, the beds are not bad, and location-wise, it is very good. Also, newly renovated bathrooms are a plus. The front desk staff were accommodating, and they tried hard to please their guests with their limited resources. Obviously, it is the owner and operator who doesn't want to spend money to update this aging hotel. We had no choice but to stay one night and we are heading for another hotel which is a lot better and cheaper than the rate we paid for this.

The biggest mistake we made was planning a Labor Day weekend trip during COVID-19. The streets are packed, the hotels are packed, and 70% of people don't even wear masks. It seems like the pandemic did not take any toll on us. We will keep our fingers crossed to return home safely. Hopefully God will not punish us for our stupidity.

This was our first visit to San Antonio and our first stay at a Drury hotel. I am very picky about accommodations while traveling. That being said, the Drury Plaza did not disappoint! Ok, a couple of downfalls, the room had a faint smell of cigarette smoke and there was no housekeeping our entire stay (3 nights) due to the pandemic, however upon request, fresh towels, shampoo, soap, etc., were available to guests at the front desk. This hotel is situated right on the Riverwalk, which was convenient. There are 2 pools and 2 hot tubs....great views of the city! There are plenty of spaces to sit and enjoy the indoors or outdoors. I felt like I was on a cruise ship, to be honest! The hotel is beautifully decorated, high ceilings and many places to sit and relax. We were offered a free hot breakfast every day and also a happy hour (3 free drinks per adult) with food (soup, salad, pasta dish). Of course during the pandemic, the food was not amazing, but the fact they they modified the service was worth mentioning. We enjoyed walking around the hotel and learning about the history of the building. The staff was very friendly. The only option for parking is valet at $26/night; or $15/day. That's typical for any hotel in the city. I would definitely stay here again.

Really comfortable beds. Breakfast was better than average and consisted of scrambled eggs, sausage, biscuits and gravy, pancakes, oatmeal, potatoes, yoghurt, and a few other items. Coffee and soda was available for free 24 hours a day. The 5:30 kickback was really nice with 3 free drinks per person which included your choice of margaritas, tequila sunrise, bloody Mary, beer, wine, and a few other drinks. You also had free snack foods like BBQ pork sliders, salad, chicken, mac-n-cheese, and other items that vary from day to day. The rooms were nice with all the amenities one would expect. There is a small fridge in the room but no freezer. Ice machines can be a little walk depending on where your room is located. The roof top pool and hot tubs were nice but crowded due to the 3 day weekend. Hot tubs need to be cleaned and chemicals balanced as there was a lot of foaming and a scum line near the water's edge. The staff was really nice. My only real negative comment would be that the elevators are very slow (probably because there were so many people in the hotel); sometimes we had to wait over 5 minutes for an elevator. Small price to pay for such a nice hotel...we will stay again next time we are in San Antonio. Great location, less than one minute to the Riverwalk which we could see clearly from our room.

We were very frustrated when we checked in to be told there is no free hotel parking. We could purchase the hotel valet parking service for an additional $30 a day. This is something we should have been told when making our reservations. The location is on the riverwalk but the outside of the hotel is very dirty and covered with homeless people. We were stopped by someone asking for money every single time we left our hotel and again as we were returning. One was yelling at people inside the hotel parking garage as we were returning one evening. It's very uncomfortable. The hallways were always dirty and not kept clean. There were beer bottles in corners and windows and the same pile of chip crumbs were there for 3 days. We stayed on the 14th floor so in order to get to our room we had to take the elevator to the 6th floor, then go across the 6th floor to the other set of elevators and then from there take the 6th floor to the 14th floor. Switching towers was extremely annoying and the elevators were so slow we took the stairs many times. Some good points I can say are that the breakfast was good. There were lots of options every morning. We were happy with our room. We had a suite with 2 queen beds and a pull out sofa couch. It worked well for our family of 4. Overall, we won't be staying here again or referring any to this hotel.

This older hotel is super nice inside. Very classy. It sits right on the Riverwalk and is easy to find from any point around that area because of its height. The elevators are a bit slow but i appreciate the fact that you must use your room badge to access them. I like that the Drury has its own valet parking, at $23 extra, and that they allow you to keep your spot there until the next day at 3:00. They also stored our bags until that time as well. Breakfast is a feast! With lots of variety, hot and cold, you will not need to find another place for your morning meal. There is a convenience store on the corner and bus stops nearby. At the time of this review, March 2020, there is construction on one side that limits access to the Riverwalk but not a problem if you are able to walk the stairs to the other side once you're down there.
