If the River Walk is your primary destination, Hilton Palacio del Rio is the place to stay. Every room in our 4-Diamond hacienda-style hotel has a balcony overlooking the River Walk or the city. In walking distance from restaurants, bars and shops, we're across the street from the Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center and boast 25 meeting rooms for events. Check out River's Edge Cafe + Patio Bar, Tex's Sports Bar (the only sports bar on the River Walk) and the famous Durty Nelly's Irish Pub. We also offer Starbucks in our lobby-level Coffee Cupboard.
Great service. Great staff. One service employee stood out above the rest. Omar was the best. He remembered my name and was always smiling. The whole staff was very accommodating but Omar went above and beyond.
Lovely Hotel with fabulous views and balcony on the San Antonio River. Spotlessly clean rooms with comfortable triple sheeted beds. Chaise lounge in room to enjoy the view or two chairs on the balcony. Beverage cooler/fridge in room to keep your drinks cool and refreshing after a long day of sightseeing. Bar on River walk, Durty Netty's is a fun sing along piano bar. A must for some fun and the best fish n chips.
Rooms are nice, close to restaurants, we choose here so we could have a connected room for our kids. Lovely hotel, profession staff. However for the price, I expect working elevators system, we would be stuck waiting forever and then when it arrived it would be full. Second, I don't know about most but I was surprised at the smell of weed almost daily in random areas of the hotel. Our last night our room wrecked from people smoking in the hallways. Checkout is a nightmare, valet was a 45 minute wait,(no option for self park,so extra $50 everyday for something you have to use) 100 people waiting at the doors at 11 am. I have plenty of time to write this review, due to this very issue. It is not a staff issue, they have been wonderful, it's a system failure. I'm sure an app with self check out, valet features, and room service would be nice.…
Spent five days at the Hilton Palacio del Rio in San Antonio, TX. Very clean and well kept. We were so pleasantly surprised by the extraordinary courtesy of the Bellmen across from the registration desk. One individual, named Michael was so kind and helpful. This gentleman treated us as though we were family. He described places to visit, eat and ride or walk to. Such a wealth of information and genuinely kind. I do not know if this was even a part of his job description, but he knocked it out of the park. Very approachable the entire time. So kudos to y’all for having him on your staff. There also another gentleman that was around the Bell desk area the was perfectly kind and knowledgeable as well. Provided a lot of information on the Missions and history. Also very kind. An older gentleman, unfortunately I did not get his name, but certainly another asset to your team. The lounge crew was not very inviting and so we didn’t spend much time there. But otherwise, a highly recommended place on the Riverwalk to stay and enjoy. …
Attended for annual sales mtg and facility had great mtg space Guest Room had King Sized bed with comfortable bedding, Views would have been nicer except for construction across the street. Hotel restaurant on Riverwalk is a great view and the food was excellent; El pastor tacos for lunch and breakfast tacos were plentiful. Staff was friendly and helpful Location right on Riverwalk was a great bonus to do an afternoon break getaway.
Wonderful stay! Associates are friendly and always greet with a smile. Israel, Concierge, was very helpful! Appreciated all he did and attention provided. I have to use a walker and this was first time traveling with it; Israel made what could have been very difficult for me much easier and could not appreciate it more! He also provided directions and dining suggestions. He truly was a blessing to me.
Pros : 1) outstanding location on Riverwalk! 5 minute walk to Alamo, 20 minute walk to Market Square 2) very clean, spacious comfortable room 3 ) we arrived at 11:30 am expecting to just drop off our bags and our room was ready ! Cons : 1) our room on the 6 th floor over looking Alamo St was extremely noisy ! No noise from other rooms, but the street noise from trucks and traffic was horrendous ! The view was pretty bad too! 2) The fun Durty Nellys bar was closed although this wasn't indicated on website.3) when we checked in, we had to submit a $75.00 damage deposit. I was told this would not be credited back to my account for 3-5 business days. This is ridiculous and an easy way for Hilton to get free loans of untold millions of dollars from customers worldwide if this is a common business practice.4) parking is $ 50.00 per night. We parked for $25.00 1 block from the hotel.…
Our uber driver on the way to the hotel gave us a quick overview of the history of how it was built. I went down a rabbit hole researching + then watching a YouTube video about the unique construction techniques used to build it in the late 1960s. Fascinating! The hotel rooms are renovated + comfortable with great views and quick access to the river walk. After Googling the hotel history you'll notice details in the halls, your balcony, and the first floor.
I brought a group of five students to the hotel. The staff was very pleasant and helpful. The rooms were very nice. It was also in great proximity to the convention center. An overall good experience.
Just stayed at this Hilton for a conference. They were apparently 100% booked. And didn't just barely keep it together (which I could understand). They were awesome. From the front desk and concierge, to the lobby bar staff: SHOUT OUT to Pilar, Minerva and Lily! Also to hotel security. (We had a happy hour event that required some management of ingress/egress from the lobby bar area. I will say that the manager who initially showed up seemed unpleased with us and the gathering. We still appreciated the importance of stewarding public safety. And when security showed up, it ran very smoothly and respectfully.) And I want to add that the general commitment to being responsive and helpful included: room service and my last minute call down to the desk on the AM of checkout to see if I might be able to stay in my room an extra night (since my flight was cancelled! In the end I didn't need to, but they put some effort into looking into it, which I suspect required figuring out quite a puzzle on their end.)…
