The hotel is beautiful and the rooms are very comfortable. The service is incredible as well. The valet, Edgar was very helpful and accommodating. I will definitely be staying here anytime I come to San Antonio
This was our first time staying here and the hotel was very nice and historic. Bar tenders were amazing at the bar inside the hotel! But the best part was the valet guy MILES!!! He was great and personable and so respectful!!! Thank you so much Miles!!!!
We’ve stayed at the Menger Hotel many times over the years. We love this historic hotel and its location. This particular stay, our room wasn’t heating properly. The staff came and fixed it, which did help some. The only other issue was that the pool was closed for renovations. We weren’t planning to do any swimming, however we missed spending time sitting outside at the poolside in the beautiful setting there. There is so much rich history at the hotels and in the area, the staff is super helpful and friendly, and it is directly beside the Alamo, which is awesome. Overall, one of our top three places to stay in San Antonio.
Beautiful hotel! Staff was very friendly! Highly recommend! Only suggestion would to have a little bit more detail on where the valet parking is, the excavation in front of the Alamo makes it hard to get around.
We were staying at the Menger to attend the Teddy Roosevelt event on January 22. The room was beautiful. The room was clean and well appointed. The Colonial Room restaurant hosted the event and that was well organized. Valet, cleaning, front desk, restaurant staff all did an outstanding job. The location of the hotel can't be beat. The only negative for us was that the heat didn't come on until 9:00 pm and it was cold outside. In San Antonio, this typically is not an issue.
Went for the Teddy Roosevelt show and stay at Menger Hotel. We stayed in the Menger Suite and the room was beautiful and very comfortable. We enjoyed the Teddy Roosevelt show but the Buffett was disappointing. Food was fine but the way the food was laid out was chaotic with too many people all at once trying to get food. They really need a different set up for that many people. The Teddy Roosevelt show is highly recommended.
Menger hotel cancelled booking 5 days before arrival citing overbooking. Overbooking? I didn’t know overbooking is a problem with hotels. Terrible, unreliable, unacceptable behavior by the hotel, I will never book or recommend to anyone.
Great hotel with plenty of history and charm, even if not staying at the hotel I’d recommend taking a walk through the lobby to experience it and learn about some of the history. I’d also recommend going to the Menger bar which is a replica of the bar in The House Of Lords in London, UK.
Lots of History. Right next to some very impressive landmarks. Good food within walking distance. Staff were cool. Hotel had many areas to just hang out at that were not crazy busy. Had its own bar.
Gavin the garage valet was very professional, courteous, and accommodating, as well as Mark at the front desk. It’s always a good stay at The Menger. It’s my second time here; it’s one block from the river walk, and more importantly for us Texans, next door to The Alamo! Ask for a room overlooking The Alamo.
