Teddy Roosevelt room was spectacular, although loud AC in sitting room. Nice folks, too, although the desk staff didn't inform me of a package that had arrived two days ago, and kitchen claimed to know nothing about room service, which was delivered 5 minutes later. So there were since internal communication issues. Took forever for shower to hear up. Still,...

The Menger is historic, so if authentic, old world charm isn't your thing then this isn't the place for you. But, if you're like me and love quirky old things then totally stay here! The service was 100% outstanding, my room was tidily cozy and the bed was comfy. I loved wandering through the gardens, and spending a little time...

The biggest advantage of the hotel is its location, right next to Alamo historic site. Close to everything. Shopping mall just outside the door, plenty of restaurants around, river walk for relaxing stroll. Though grocery store is 15 min.away. Old hotel, classy, with well trained pleasant personnel. A/C is centrally regulated, which is the reason of occasional sweating. Breakfast room...

WE enjoyed our stay at the Menger. The beds were very comfy and the room was very clean and well appointed. The hotel is very close to the Alamo and the entrance to the Riverwalk . The only draw back was having to pay $28 per day/night for parking.

Lovely warm welcome when we arrived, our room was very nice, few little quirks, could hear the flush in the above room, but it didn't bother us. Just kind of a thing to expect from such an old building, the original reception area with the wrought iron balconies was beautiful, it was nice to just explore the hallways and not...

The Menger hotel is a great older hotel, with an excellent location in San Antonio. Literally located right next (across the street) from the Alamo, and a short walk to the River Walk, there is a lot within easy access. The hotel is vintage and old, but that's an asset. The lobby is very nice (with a lot of attached...

This hotel is central to important locations in San Antonio, including the Riverwalk, Alamo and the Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center. Customer service is outstanding. Staff are friendly and go beyond expectations to be helpful. I had brought a small electric scooter with me to get around town on. My first night here, I had an inner tube fall apart....

The lovely, historic Menger Hotel, next door to the Alamo, is a destination in itself. A hotel where service and friendliness is valued and relationships are made. Wonderful ambience, dining, and lovely antique furnished rooms tells you this is no Hampton or Holiday Inn but a step back in time to a slower, more elegant pace. We come to San...

The Menger Hotel was opened in 1859 and has been added to and remodeled many times over the years. The only minor inconveniences were that there was no refrigerator in the room and the closet was pretty small. Otherwise, it was very nice. We were in the older part of the hotel, so those minor problems may not have existed...

“The room was spacious that I had. A/C worked well. It was near the Ice machine. This trip was during Fiesta and there was more activity in the hall ways than normal. It quieted down by 10 o clock.”
