We really enjoyed our night at the El Rey and wish we could have stayed longer. We were visiting Santa Fe and liked the look of this place. We selected a room with a wood fireplace when we made reservations. Unfortunately when we got our room we found that it was a gas fireplace instead. The room was very nice...

May 16, 2017 Surprising quiet and set back from the busy main street of Cerillos that runs through Santa Fe; this well-preserved property has a pleasantly warm mix of private terraces, uniquely-decorated rooms, and friendly front desk service. Despite the disappointment of the pool under repair, we enjoyed the patio and the birds out our room in the courtyard. The...

Dear LeeAnger, You are so kind to post such warm remarks regarding your recent stay at the El Rey Court. We are so happy that you enjoyed our beautiful five acres of gardens that really do provide a quiet oasis in the heart of Santa Fe. I would like to apologize that our pool was not open when you visited...

Stayed for one night on our way through on route 66. LOVED this property, which is currently undergoing renovations. We ended up with room 57, which is as far to the rear of the property as you can get. We had a private balcony overlooking the pool. This is a very nice property, with a greenhouse on site to take...

Dear Josh S, The El Rey Court was built in 1936 as an original Route 66 motor court and we are so happy to hear that we were able to be a part of your Route 66 experience. The vision behind our renovation is to capture that part of the El Rey's history while updating the property to enhance our...

If you're looking for a quaint, clean, comfortable room in Santa Fe, look no further. Our room was located in the back of the property (away from the street). It had a king size bed with the most comfortable mattress we have slept on in any hotel! We found the size of our room to be spacious , after all...

Nice Route 66 stop with well kept grounds and exterior. Room was large with great patio but furnishings need to be redone. Needs new mattress. I got an upgraded room. The standard rooms looked pretty small and plain. Busy street but if you get rooms off the street, it's pretty quiet. Next to The Pantry - a great breakfast stop....

I last stayed at the El Rey in 1989 and have wanted to return ever since. I was not disappointed! I requested an "older" room, and it was perfect! Beautiful grounds, friendly, helpful staff - especially Monica at the front desk. Each evening after a long day of exploring, we enjoyed a glass of wine in the lounge. The El...

It was so nice to stay at El Rey again and find the hotel just the same as it was in the early 80's when we last stayed there. The adobe style with their turquoise doors are so characteristic of the southwestern style and it needs to be kept just like that. The hotel offers a spa, sauna, hot tub...

This is a Lovely Motel in Santa Fe. The staff here are very friendly and the rooms are clean and large. Early check in was not a problem. The grounds are very pretty. The only downside was the blizzard we experienced this morning on April 29th!

Dear James G C, Thank you for sharing your experience of staying at the El Rey with others. That crazy snowstorm caught us by surprise also. We always appreciate any moisture that we receive in the high desert, however, this storm provided a little much. Hopefully, on your next visit with us the weather will be a little more cooperative...

We stayed in one of the family rooms and found it to be perfect for our needs. We normally stick with well known hotel brands but for this trip (along part of R66) we opted for more independent, motel style places. As the El Rey was the first of these we stayed in I was a little nervous but needn't...

Dear Barreflux, Thank you for allowing the El Rey to host your family during your recent visit to Santa Fe. As a historic, classic Route 66 motor court we do offer a unique appeal that cannot be realized in one of the branded properties. Originally constructed in 1936, the El Rey is Santa Fe. We are equally happy that your...
