Santa Fe is our "home away from home". We have been coming to Santa Fe to get away for over 20 years. We have stayed in many hotels there but Bishop's Lodge is our favorite. The location is superb, the Lodge has activities our boys, now young men still love. The old historic chapel is still on the grounds and...

We stayed at Bishop's Lodge Resort for 2 nights in January, after the holiday rush. The room was huge and very comfortable with a great soaking tub, separate shower, high ceilings, fireplace, very comfortable bed and patio with chairs. This historical resort has all of the modern amenities, while still holding on to the historical charm of the property. The...

We just returned from ski vacation to Ski Santa Fe and we stayed at Bishop's Lodge. I had made reservations requesting the deluxe rooms that have a fireplace. I had read some reviews here complaining about the cost of the room compared with their expectations. If you get the rooms away from the horse stable, you get a lovely view...

Bishop's Lodge is a relaxing retreat in the beautiful mountains of Santa Fe. We had a wonderful time getting away for the weekend and intend on returning for another trip very soon!

We have been coming to Bishop's Lodge for more than thirty years, our daughter was married here and we have hosted family and nonprofit events here. Our stay in December 2010 was one of the best. The staff, Stu on the front desk - always welcoming and remembering just how one likes things, Ryan answering any need, Antonieta gracefully running...

Bishop's Lodge is a delight. The location is remote without any inconvenience which makes it a perfect Santa Fe location. Only 3 miles from the downtown Historic Plaza. The big sky, bright stars and the clear, clean, dry winter air was exhilarating. The skylight in the bathroom gave you that outdoor feeling, the fireplace created a cozy feel and the...

I'm a local and never had the opportunity to stay at Bishop's Lodge. Fortunately, an opportunity came up when I attended a party at the resort, and my husband and I stayed overnight. Our room was larger than I thought it would be, had a gorgeous view (all the more beautiful with the snow), and free internet (which a lot...

We have always stayed at Bishop's Lodge since 2002, which was our first time to Santa Fe. It is the best place. The food is great. The spa is the greatest. It takes you 5 minutes to be at the Plaza, downtown. If you like to ski, there is a shuttle. There also is a shuttle to town. The only...

This was my first trip to Santa Fe, and though it was for buisness, the Bishop's Lodge and Resort made it one of the most relaxing work trips I've been on. My room had plenty of sitting room, an adorable patio, and a gas fireplace that I could light with a flick of a switch. The staff was incredibly helpful...

At the last minute we decided to have our company Christmas Party at Bishop’s Lodge and with one call they handled everything and exceeded our expectations on the quality of the food and service. Official Description (provided by the hotel)
In August of 1851, a Frenchman, Jean Baptiste Lamy, arrived in the NM Territory as the first Bishop of Santa Fe. Here he built a private retreat; his chapel still stands today, now on the national register of historic places. After Lamy's Death, the land was acquired by the Pulitzer publishing family as a private vacation retreat. In 1917, the Thorpe family from Denver fell in love with these pristine acres, bought the property and developed the first resort in the state. Today Bishop's Lodge comprises 15 lodges for a total of 110 rooms ranging in sizes from 250 sq feet to 450, not to mention a 2000 sq foot Presidential Suite. Many of our rooms feature fireplaces and the majority all have outdoor access to patios, lawns or balconies. Our ShaNah Spa and Wellness Center which opened up in June of 2002 is a sanctuary where one can take time out to be nurtured by Mother Nature, guided by ancient wisdon and touched by angels. The experience may change your life. Other activities are abundant such as: trap/skeet shooting (offered to groups of 10 or monmre roomnights), horseback, pony trail rides, hiking, mountain biking, fitness center, excercise studio, outdoor pool, whirlpool and tennis to mention a few. Bishop's Lodge is located just 3 miles from the Historic Santa Fe Plaza. Complimentary shuttle service is provided by the lodge at scheduled times daily. ... more   less
