We had a wonderful visit in Santa Fe, where we stayed at the charming Madeleine Inn. I hope we can return one day; but until then, we are pleased to share our experience, so others might choose to visit the inn, as well. The entire staff showered us with their very kind attention, taking care of even the smallest detail... More

Dear Hallie S, I so appreciate you writing about your experience as a guest at The Madeleine Inn. You are so very right - the staff, many of whom have been with me for 12-20 years, are ever so kind and caring. I will make sure to pass on your praise to them. We are so pleased you enjoyed your... When vacationing, we want to stay in place as nice, or nicer than home. Otherwise, why go? Reviews are relative to each person's reality. This was our experience, with photos so decide if we're picky or if this is a place you'd like to stay. On a beautiful sunny Santa Fe day, we were escorted to a dark, stifling, musty... More

I am so very sorry you were disappointed with your stay, and appreciate you taking the time to outline the reasons why in such detail. You are so right - It is most helpful when we are able to stay in the rooms and actually experience the setting overnight. We do this during the slower winter months, when the rooms... More

This lovely old Queen Ann style house is like coming home -- only better! While The Madeleine is an easy walk to the Plaza, it is set back at the end of a quiet dead end street; and its brother inn, The Hacienda Nicholas, is across the street where delicious hot breakfasts, as well as homemade breads, muffins, granola and... The staff were super friendly and helpful. The inn was well maintained. The bed was comfortable and room was spacious. Happy hour of wine and snacks was a nice bonus, fostered conversation with other guests. Breakfast was excellent offering both cold and hot options. Fresh baked cookies and snacks always available along with coffee and tea. Loved the building, grounds... More

I am so pleased you enjoyed your romantic getaway with us, and that you slept comfortably, appreciated the food service and the property itself. As for the sink in the sleeping area - the house was built in 1886 with just one bathroom, which was considered the height of luxury at the time. Since then bathrooms have been added to... More

Typically, when my spouse and I travel we stay at small inns or B&Bs. I find that attention to essential details separates the excellent from the barely-adequate. Our stay at Madeline in Santa Fe "met or exceeded" all of my mental check boxes for essential details. Located just a few blocks from the central plaza in Santa Fe, in a... More

Secluded and off the beaten track but still close to the lively action of the Historic Plaza is where you will find The Madeleine. We stayed in The Forsythia Room which is a small cottage on the property and found it to be quite spacious, charmingly decorated and within steps of the main house and Hacienda Nicholas across the street... We love that our guests enjoying relaxing in the gardens, and are able to walk to Santa Fe's historic Plaza and the galleries of Canyon Road. Without a doubt, Santa Fe is a wonderful walking city, especially in the fall when the leaves are falling and the chiles are roasting. Thank you for posting such a sweet review. More

This was our first visit to Santa Fe and we looked for a Bed & Breakfast conveniently located to the plaza. Madeleine's was perfect, great location within walking distance to the plaza, outstanding room and service from a wonderful staff. We will definitely stay here again on a return trip to Santa Fe.

We had a great stay at the Madeleine for two nights. It is superbly located, just a very short walk away from the main Plaza and a lot of the sights.
