Typically, when my spouse and I travel we stay at small inns or B&Bs. I find that attention to essential details separates the excellent from the barely-adequate. Our stay at Madeline in Santa Fe "met or exceeded" all of my mental check boxes for essential details. Located just a few blocks from the central plaza in Santa Fe, in a...

Dear Bill and Andi, What a perfectly fabulous review you have written. I have been an innkeeper for 29 years now, and over the years, have learned from both experience and guest input how to continually improve on our business. We shall continue to evolve in order to be the very best we can be. I am tickled pink that...

Secluded and off the beaten track but still close to the lively action of the Historic Plaza is where you will find The Madeleine. We stayed in The Forsythia Room which is a small cottage on the property and found it to be quite spacious, charmingly decorated and within steps of the main house and Hacienda Nicholas across the street...

Oh, I do love the Forsythia and Violet Suites, and am so happy you did as well. Tucked away in the back gardens, they are wonderfully quiet and private. I am so pleased you found The Madeleine to be so charming, welcoming and relaxing. Thank you so much for taking the time to write a review.

Loved the garden out back to enjoy coffee in the morning or wine in the evening. Plenty of outdoor seating on the patio and on the porch. The staff was awesome! Very friendly and always ready to answer your questions. The distance to the plaza is a very manageable walk. It is also in walking distance to Canyon Road and...

We love that our guests enjoying relaxing in the gardens, and are able to walk to Santa Fe's historic Plaza and the galleries of Canyon Road. Without a doubt, Santa Fe is a wonderful walking city, especially in the fall when the leaves are falling and the chiles are roasting. Thank you for posting such a sweet review.

This was our first visit to Santa Fe and we looked for a Bed & Breakfast conveniently located to the plaza. Madeleine's was perfect, great location within walking distance to the plaza, outstanding room and service from a wonderful staff. We will definitely stay here again on a return trip to Santa Fe.

We had a great stay at the Madeleine for two nights. It is superbly located, just a very short walk away from the main Plaza and a lot of the sights. We stayed there during the Zozombra festival and it felt central, but very peaceful, away from the busy atmosphere of the town. The breakfasts are served in the Hacienda...

Thank you for posting such a comprehensive review on The Madeleine Inn and for your comments on Santa Fe. It's pretty amazing, isn't it, that we are just three blocks from the Plaza and yet so very quiet and peaceful?! I too recommend the walking tour given by the History Museum, as Santa Fe has such a rich history. The...

What a lovely B&B. The staff was very friendly, the breakfast delicious, and it is so convenient, a very easy walk to downtown sites and restaurants. The rooms were charming, only wish I would have had time to try the spa. I would definitely stay here again!

We had the most delightful stay at The Madeleine Inn. The staff was friendly and always ready with a helpful suggestion for sites or a meal. The Inn is also close to the Plaza and Canyon Rd. We walked to most of our dinner restaurants. The Inn is very cozy with many options for outdoor seating for reading or relaxing....

How lovely to read that you appreciate the staff, our incredible location and the breakfast fare. We have quite an array of breakfast offerings, some based on local recipes, some with chile, some without, some sweet, in order to please a variety of palates. You are correct in noting that when the primary hot dish of the day does not...

Is it the warmth of the greeting upon arrival; the help with heavy luggage? Is it the intimacy of a turn of the century manse now morphed into a welcoming B&B? Is it the ubiquitous home-made cookies (chocolate, chocolate chip or amazing oatmeal) and fruit, coffee, tea, lemon-infused water available from dawn til dark - or later? Is it our...

I've stayed twice in the last 60 days. Carolyn and the staff are great. Stayed in the Geranium (I think) room...with the bath across the hall. Everything was very comfortable. The Madeleine is truly a wonderful bed and breakfast experience. This old Victorian home is elegant and inviting. The Morning Glory room is beautifully furnished, and its decor is tasteful. Gee, what a fabulous review! The Madeleine is an incredible old home, built in 1886 by a railroad tycoon. Those original stained glass windows are quite remarkable, aren't they?!
