Stayed for 4 nights in August 2021. We were travelling with another couple who selected this property, probably based on price. This is an older place somewhat recently under new ownership. Ultimately, my husband discussed our many complaints with the owner, who disclosed that he had planned to address many things, but that the city code decreed that he redo the wiring and plumbing. He could not afford that, and used "band aid" solutions. HVAC is in tubing on the wall, not hard-wired. The walls are thin - we could hear our neighbors' TV and conversations. Fortunately they were not a rowdy couple. The room is small (photo on site is a suite and misleading.) The king bed takes up almost the entire space. There is one place to sit - chair at desk. If using it, no one can get by . There is one piece of furniture for clothing storage with drawers at floor level - very inconvenient. Six hangers in the open closet. There is no ventilation fan in the bathroom. One ancient window which will not stay open. A pedestal sink with no place for shaving gear, etc. The shower door near the shower faucet is permanently closed. In order to turn on the water, you must stand under it and get a very cold shower. There is no shelf or any place to put shampoo, etc. in the shower - except the floor. The floor itself is very slippery - we asked for a bathmat and they just shrugged. We purchased one in town. I think it is just a matter of time until someone falls in the shower - a lawsuit waiting to happen. The owner said his contractor was supposed to address some of these issues but "never came back." Clearly this is an inexperienced owner. All staff seemed to be family members some with their toddlers in tow. On check in we were informed of "no maid service due to Cov-virus" even though we were there for 4 days. We stayed in 4 other hotels on our trip and ALL of them had maid service. This guy just doesn't want to spend the money. They also assess $10 per day parking which is in VERY SMALL PRINT on their site. The owner basically says "you would pay twice as much anywhere else in Santa Fe." That is his excuse for a subpar, unprofessionally run, dangerous, uncomfortable property. I often use low-cost places such as Comfort Inn, but they are convenient and professional (and usually include breakfast and don't charge for parking. ) The good points are the mattress was comfortable and they had a Keurig machine. I would avoid this place unless staying one quick night with no shower.

I cannot advise anyone to stay here. The best I can say is that for the price, the rooms were adequate. HOWEVER, the hotel repeatedly charged my card for expensive parking charges, despite the fact I did not have a car. They marked my stay as a "no show" for some unexplained reason, making it impossible to pursue necessary refunds through the booking site I used. They offered to refund for both the parking charges and the last night when I alerted them I was checking out a day early, but refused to take the steps to ensure the refunds went through. They repeatedly said they'd clean our rooms upon request, but not once did. I give workers the benefit of doubt. But I cannot express just how rude the manager has been as I sought to fix these issues. Repeatedly, he has made every excuse and blamed me for any mistakes. Taking ownership of the situation and a small apology would have gone a long way, but his attitude made the situation all the worse. Stay far away.

We have stayed at this motel many times when it was "Garretts Desert Inn". Now that it has been remodeled, we have stayed her for two nights. It was very quiet, and I've always loved the layout of the room which they didn't change in the "redo" of the hotel. Probably the only negative I'd say is the slick floor in the shower. You have to be very careful. But for the price and the location in Santa Fe, it can't be beat!!!!

Found someone else’s blood on our sheets at check out, while checking the bed for anything we’d left behind. Maybe period blood? Teensy amount of toilet paper by it. So gross. Sheets were not changed before check in. Disgusting, made us feel sick we’d been sleeping on that. Also a tiny amount of blood under mirror in bathroom. Front office person offered $20 back (parking fees) for that awful discovery. It’s obvious they are trying to re-do this hotel and make it better, but they still need to improve things obviously. The location was fabulous, however.

The people were pleasant and helpful but... It's an old hotel and they have attempted to remodel the bathroom but without a lot of forethought. There were no shelves in the shower to put supplies. There was also no outlet. They also didn't have a vent and the ceiling is already showing moisture problems. There was no breakfast. You also had to pay $10 a day for parking in their large parking lot. What?! We stayed for a week and had to ask for new towels. There was also leftover food in the frig from the previous people. It's not that I wouldn't recommend but it was expensive for what we got.
