If you are looking for the traditional La Quinta breakfast or need to use the internet, AVOID THIS PROPERTY! There are lots of other choices all very close to this location. If you need to use the internet, don’t stay here. It is free, but what they don’t tell you is that it is NOT secured. In today’s world of scammers and hackers, using an unsecured public internet access is foolhardy and potentially DANGEROUS. The property manager Alex said the internet access offered was a corporate decision. I was frankly shocked that a corporation the size and scale of Wyndham would even offer something this dangerous to its guests. So, if you need secured Wi-Fi internet access during your stay: DON’T STAY HERE! The second major disappointment was breakfast. It was a joke! The buffet style breakfast of cereals, breads, rolls, and fresh made waffles that La Quinta is known for is gone at this properly. Instead they offer a brown bag with a small tub of unsweetened apple sauce, a blueberry “energy bar”, and an apple. I discussed this with the property manager (Alex) and she said this was a corporate decision, and she was just operating within their guidelines. This surprised me because I stayed at a La Quinta property in Gallup NM the previous week and enjoyed the full traditional La Quinta breakfast. The website claims that this properly is offering a full breakfast, but it is factually inaccurate. I called Corporate Customer Service, and the agent acknowledged that the website is in error, but indicated to me that it was too expensive to correct the website information, so what they did is bury a disclaimer that the customer should call to verify the information. Isn’t that just great! Apparently the company policy is that they can say anything they want on the website, whether true or not, as long as they require the customer to call and verify the information. I would suggest that you DO NOT do business with a company that has this type of policies. So, if you are looking to enjoy a good breakfast or need to use the internet, DON’T STAY HERE!…
This hotel is definitely at the bottom of the La Quintas that I have stayed in. The exterior has peeling paint and cracked concrete stairs with rusted iron frames. Interior rooms were updated, but the bathroom lacks an exhaust fan and the tub is showing its age. Things were clean except for the spread on one of the beds; it needed to be cleaned. There is no microwave or refrigerator. Internet is insecure--there is no password. Breakfast was a paper bag with an aged apple, fruit cup and granola.
The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. The location was convenient and easy to find. The staff, especially the check-in clerk were friendly and helpful. There was no real breakfast, just a carry-out bag.
The hotel is terribly outdated, but that was not the issue. I pulled back the covers on the bed and it was gritty like the bedding hasn't been washed. Disgusting! Never will I consider this hotel again.
Great value. Building outdated. Laundry room needed cleaning and update. Went to public laundromat to do laundry. Staff was friendly and professional and knowledgeable about surroundings and sight of seeing areas.
