Long weekend in Santa Fe planned for my wife and I was ruined solely by staying at this hotel. Originally booked 3 night stay but security issues with this property forced us to check out a day early. Homeless walking through parking lot, white truck parked on side of building with a guy in it all day and night while a number of cars pulled up talked for a minute then left. Use your own imagination on what that guy might or might not have been selling. Talked to hotel manager about this and she said other guests had brought this to her attention but when we finally left the guy was still sitting in his truck drinking a beer and rolling down the window trying to get out attention every time we walked to or from our car. Went to Santa Fe to enjoy some of the art galleries, downtown area and restaurants so we were in and out of the hotel 3-4 times a day and every time we felt uncomfortable getting from the parking lot to the lobby or lobby to car. Booked with points so called IHG guest services to see if we could check out a day early and get the unused night points refunded to our account which we were told that would be no problem. Went to lobby and talked to manager and we were told no problem the unused night and points would be refunded. Manager was very nice, apologized and acted like she understood. Well still no refund and hotel management is now saying IHG has to refund the points so she transferred me to IHG where IHG customer service told me hotel has to issue the refund. Seems funny both the hotel manager and customer service are unable or should I say don’t want to refund points. Will post this review on a separate hotel site each day until IHG does what they promised. Spent 52,000 points ($400-$500 in cash value had I not used points) for this hotel to ruin a trip to Santa Fe. I recommend a different hotel if your visiting Santa Fe and I’m definitely looking into a different loyalty and credit card reward program. STAY AWAY FROM THIS PROPERTY…
We would recommend staying at this property. Nice staff, well maintained, great location, great value for the price. We would definitely stay here again. The breakfast was good, and the room was comfortable, clean, and quiet. Win, win!
This was about a 15 min drive from The Plaza in Santa Fe. The employees were friendly, the room was spacious and the breakfast was free - necessities filled the bill. I was on the top floor in #318 and could hear the traffic noise at night. Not terrible but a little annoying.
I booked a room here in April for late August to ensure I would be able to get a room with a roll in shower because Santa Fe can get booked up in the summer. I made the reservation on the phone and was assured that the room would have a roll-in-shower which is a must for us when traveling. When we arrived after a six hour drive the room had been booked to someone else. The man at the front desk told us he would cancel the reservation free of charge and offered me 5000 points. Holiday Inn did not have any other hotels in the area so he couldn't help us find a suitable room elsewhere. We spent the next three hours looking for a hotel with a roll-in-shower. Luckily we eventually found one at the Hilton but it cost us over $1000 more with one less day than originally planned. I called Holiday Inn immediately to complain, they said it was up to the hotel and could not do anything for 48 hours. I have an account with IHG and went online to make sure the hotel had cancelled the reservation. Strangely, they had only cancelled 4 days of a 5 day reservation plus no points. Again I called IHG who said it was up to the hotel to cancel that reservation, if they did I would be charged. I tried calling the hotel but the manager was always in a "meeting." IHG told me after 48 hours they could cancel the day free of charge. I called back after 48 hours, and after at least an hour on the phone they said not to worry they would cancel it. In the end, after numerous calls, they charged me for the fifth day. After even more calls I was told to file a dispute with my credit card because IHG said there was "nothing they could do." I did file a dispute with my credit card and the following day the The Holiday Inn Santa Fe finally refunded me. I was offered points to compensate for all the trouble I had to go through during my many calls. I never received any points from IHG or the hotel. Terrible customer service and convoluted management style where IHG blames the hotel and the hotel blames their hotel group and you get little results.…
The Starr was very friendly and helpful. Gave us directions to local restaurants. Rooms were very clean and comfortable. Loved the Dove products. Breakfast was very delicious with a wide variety of options. Would definitely stay here again.
Have normally had good experience with Holiday Inn Express facilities. This location is an exception due to problems with the room. Room clean but numerous problems with NO WiFi, 1 out of 4 lamps worked, no sofa bed linens, heating/air conditioning not working right. Would not go back to it again.
Spent 5 days there on vacation. Holiday Inn Express has become our Go-TO travel hotel. Rooms are always clean, roomy. Breakfasts offer a variety of items including fruit, pastry, waffles, eggs, bacon and or sausage and very good coffee.
The hotel is tucked in behind another business and is hard to spot the first time you arrive, but once you find it, it is easy to get into the parking lot, our room was clean and ready when we arrived, staff was nice and directed to some nice restaurants, overall and very nice visit here
Stayed two nights, 3/25/22 & 3/26/22. Room 408 clean and bed comfortable. Decent selection of channels on t.v. Located behind a mattress store off the main street, Cerrillos. Restaurants close by. Breakfast the usual HIE fare and kept plentiful by a nice young lady. The problem was on Saturday the 26th. We left the hotel at 8:30am Saturday and headed north to the Rio Grande Gorge Bridge and Taos; rode around checking out "scenery" and headed back to S.F. in the afternoon and arrived back at the hotel after sitting in a small car for over 7 hours. I have spinal stenosis, sciatica, degenerative arthritis of the spine and neuropathy. We were on the 4th floor (top) and THE ELEVATOR WAS NOT WORKING. It was difficult for me to climb those stairs and I can only imagine what a nightmare it was for the guests checking in with lots of luggage! Fortunately we had leftover lunch we could reheat in the room's microwave. Some people had to go out for dinner. One item we missed in our room was an additional comfy chair in the corner. The desk chair was the only chair and it got tiresome having to lay on the bed. Sunday morning we walked down to the elevator. You guessed it!!!! ELEVATOR NOT WORKING. I took the room 'key' to the front desk and told the lady that surely was inconvenient. None of us were offered a few extra bonus points or a few dollars off the bill. Just, "Yeah, a repairman is on the way." Santa Fe was a disappointment to us: lots of homeless people, and trash along the city streets. ALSO, there was a pair of shoes/boots tied together and thrown up over the electrical wires as you entered the HIE parking lot. For those that do not know, any time you see shoes/boots thrown over wires, it means there are drugs NEARBY for sale. We saw quite a bit of these out there.…
The hotel has been renovated, it was very clean. The room was very dark which is always a surprise. No blinking fire alarm and the microwave was in the area of the bathroom not right in front of the bed, perfect. The bed is very firm, not what we like. We stay at many different Holiday Inns and we find the beds are perfect or rock solid. I wish there was a way to figure this out as the hard beds cause a lot of painful backs, and lack of sleep. We are thinking of changing hotel brands because of the firm beds, they cause trips to the chiropractor. Montrose, CO Holiday Inn is the same hard bed, maybe more firm if that is possible. We left early so we did not use the pool or eat the breakfast. We prefer breakfast at 5 am, but alas that does not happen at any hotel. Staff was wonderful, the area is a little concerning, but it's Santa Fe. Easy to find and get to right off of Cerillos Road. We would stay again if the beds are changed out to the comfy Holiday Inn beds.…
