Stayed 4 nights. Was near freezing at night (ice on car windshield). No heat in room first two nights. When mentioned to staff after the first night they couldn't fix or find an extra blanket (in a hotel with maybe 100 rooms). After second night the manager had maintenance come and fixed the issue in 30 seconds. She offered a $20 discount for the inconvenience. Also no shampoo which we hadn't brought because every hotel provides shampoo, or so I thought. Bed not very comfortable. Very low water pressure. Otherwise fine. Reasonably quiet and clean. Have generally had good luck with Motel 6 but not this time.
This Motel 6 USED TO BE great- however apparently the company was sold to a private owner and boy you can certainly tell! IT USED to be so clean and nice with beautiful flowers and a nice atmosphere and was run by a very nice manager, however now it looks run down, with metal shopping carts the homeless guests leave all over the property, and poop on the sidewalks it's disgusting! What happened? It looks like a cheap Super 8 now! The office where you check in is filthy and the new manager could seem to care less! Dirty rooms, homeless walking around, it is scary and unsafe and most certainly does not cater to a business clientele anymore! It used to be clean, and comfortable with great rates but now it's a high-priced place for the homeless! Save your money and go to the Marriott down the street or the Hampton Inn!…
I’ve stayed in a number of budget hotels so aware you get very basic rooms with not much in amenities. We chose this because the reviews on the whole are ok and it looks great from the outside and the location is good. What we weren’t prepared for was to pay almost $100 for the worst nights sleep in a decade. The bed was lumpy with only 3 pillows between 2 of us. We got woken at 3am by a half dressed man stood outside the window talking loudly on his phone, then a couple screaming and shouting next door. The icing on the cake though was getting up to find the floor and bed were teeming with tiny insects. They were swarming into my suitcase at one point. This prompted a quick get away. I reported it to the desk and he did write something on a clipboard but there was no concern or apology, which suggests it’s a common theme. Needless to say we won’t be darkening the door of any Motel 6 establishments again!!…
Could write quite a book about why the one stars have been worse for wear at this property and especially being there is no Security at all...never again. If anybody else remembers there was a night there was a horrible argument that sounded like gunshots. No maid service or towels. Not the best aea either and be careful with the speeding drivers both directions on Newbury. Could say alot more but keep your stay brief. Dogs not on leashes and poop everywhere, as in many public places, which is sad. No cameras; bear that in mind. I also don't like staff calling out my room number but alot of hotels do that. Never booked more than 2 days here, justifiably. There were some plusses about this place but they seemed to be disappearing. Ice was highly unreliable and many times just one machine had ice. Another guest said something that made us very ill at ease around April. I just like to warn others, but you may feel fine staying there. No pet or parking fees when we were there. Staff still do a great job, considering, but if you have a better lodging option try to invest in it.…
I was here for a quick overnight stay, but found it to be one of the nicer Motel 6's I've stayed at. It's still very much a no-frills experience, but the room was very clean and quiet, and the property even had some decent landscaping. Probably the best bang for your buck in the Thousand Oaks area.
It was a great trear to stay in a clean, well staffed budget hotel. I travel quite a bit for business and have never stayed at a Motel 6. What a shock to have a quiet, very clean, comfortable stay at such a good price! Thanks to a good friendly staff. Well informed about the city and overall very positive!
We usually always stay at Marriott hotels but as we would be staying for over a month off and on as travelling between California and Arizona for my sons baseball needed to find somewhere affordable to stay. Was a bit apprehensive as it’s a motel and we only ever stay at hotels. Was really impressed how clean this Motel 6 was in Thousand Oaks, California and how well maintained it is. The staff is amazing and always avail if you need extra towels or toilet paper. Due to COVID there isn’t maid service but that is the same at all hotels at the moment. Paul the assistant manager was very helpful and the day manager also, did not catch his name. All the staff we encountered were very friendly. Had a noise complaint one night over a noisy neighbour and they immediately took care of it. Also thought it was really nice they let animals stay also as not many motels/hotels allow that. Would definitely go back when we travel to California again.…
Affordable and clean. Comfy beds and nice landscaping outside. Friendly front desk. I wanted to go in the pool but they have water polo set up and for the two days we were here a group of young boys were rambunctiously taking over almost the entire pool with the game. So not only did they monopolize the pool relaxing for every guest. Every other guest can also hear all the noise from it since the pool was in the middle of all the rooms. Huge bummer. I’d recommend they take that down so everyone can enjoy some pool relaxation and not have to be splashed and have loud rowdy teens 24/7. Literally they were in there til close and back in right when it opened. I left early
A tad pricey even for a poolside larger Mic/fridge room but having stayed there alot I'm impressed by the warm and professional desk staff. Again, a bit expensive for a 6 but its a good enough location and property.
First of all, I'd like to say that I have been a Motel 6' customer since 2009. I have stayed in many of their different locations all over California: Santa Barbara, LAX, Big Bear City, San Diego, and so on. I love traveling and Motel 6 is always my go-to whenever I'm visiting a city. In October 2020, I was living in San Diego and at the end of the month, I had to relocate to Newbury Park because of my job. As this work project is temporary and I do have to drive back to San Diego for a few days every month, my boss decided it would be better for me to stay in hotels because of the daily reservation flexibility. See below all my stays since October 2020: Oct. 22 to Oct. 24 (2 nights) Oct. 26 to Nov. 11 (16 nights) Nov. 13 to Nov. 16 (3 nights) Nov. 19 to Nov. 25 (6 nights) Nov. 27 to Nov. 30 (3 nights) Dec. 04 to Dec. 06 (2 nights) Dec. 13 to Dec. 17 (4 nights) Dec. 22 to Jan. 04 (13 nights) Jan. 07 to Jan. 11 (5 nights) TOTAL SPENT: $3,751.81 *Note that I have always stayed away for 2 or more nights in between reservations. With that being said, during my third stay in November, the front desk lady kindly informed me about their 28 days stay policy and I told her that I was aware of it as I had stayed in many other Motel 6 throughout the past few years. I understand that as defined by the California Civil Code 1940.1, no guest is allowed to stay over 28 days and I obviously do respect that. After that, the manager (only male who works at their front desk), started to make me feel really uncomfortable whenever I was checking-in or renewing my reservation. On every occasion, he would seem very skeptical of my return and he would always tell me that he had to check the system because I have stayed there for too long. Well, as you can see above, none of my stays come even close to the 28 days mark (16 nights was the maximum and I have always stayed away from the hotel for 2 nights or more), therefore, he was wrong every single time. Also, it is important to say that every other person who works there, always made me feel very welcomed whenever I was checking-in or renewing the reservation. He was the only one who did not, quite the opposite: I felt and still feel like I am being a burden to him. Today, I went to renew my stay until January 12th and as usual, he tells me that there must be something wrong because I have stayed too long and he needed to check the system. Again, he was wrong and I will be staying here until January 12th. Needless to say, I have been feeling very uncomfortable with the situation because 1) I have never stayed even close to the 28 days mark; 2) I am paying to stay here, not begging; 3) I expected better from a hotel manager (especially when I have spent almost $4000) but instead, he just made me feel like a burden every single time. I would like to add that I will be staying in Newbury Park until July (on and off as I have been doing), but because of him, I am not staying at this Motel 6 location ever again. If he doesn’t like to get paid, I am sure many other hotels in the area will be happy to have my on/off reservations until the end of July.…
