Racist and discriminatory behavior for kids! We came new to California from other state and trusted this place to start our new life in California but we repented badly!! The assistant general manager Michelle has mental issue and is a racist and discriminated person! We booked this place for 3 months while we wait for closing our house. We are educated and good people who don’t drink alcohol, drugs or anything!! Just that we have kids and they had to spent whole time in studio room, so they used to play games during the day calmly so they don’t disturb anyone. Out of nowhere, She made us leave calling us bad and complaining about our race culture, race and kids been loud!! She could have warned us before right about the noise? But nope!!!! She had no compassion for my kids!! Other allegation/made false story that we “add pressure” to her damn staff! If shower or stove stops working, isn’t that hotel responsible to fix that? Is that adding pressure?? After convincing and pleading for giving us 24 hours notice. She moved us to corner dirty uncleaned unit and we quietly accepted it. We didn’t want to move again and convinced her to let us stay in the same room without expecting anything since this place was close to my kids school and office and we were all settled and didn’t wanna keep changing places due to covid but she had no compassion and kicked us out talking bad about our race and kids! That was the last straw! And we just left from this dictatorship place forever! Management if you reading this!! She has made this place a rotten place!!! There is only one rule! “Michelle rule”like a dictatorship. After throwing us out, we had to live unsecured places and my kids were heart broken for people treating us so bad for their race!!! And for kids being a kid!!! But finally we closed on our house and in peace now!!! But m sure michelle your karma will bite you some day! Seek some help! And stop harassing poor guest with children and cursing on other’s race!! and have some compassion!! If you are colored skin! Be very careful here!!!…

The fact that this establishment was $50 a night cheaper than the comparable Hilton product should have set off more bells in my mind. I thought I scored a bargain. What I scored was a Marriott property which fell far short of the Marriott standards to which I have become accustomed. (A) at check in my Lifetime Gold status was not acknowledged and I was told the facility was full so no upgrades. Additionally no early check in. (B) I asked the front desk about the included breakfast, as the breakfast room was barricaded closed. Her response was that it wasn't much. And she was right (1) the prepackaged bags are distributed from 6 to 9am same hours all seven days a week. So don't sleep in on the weekend, (2) each bag consists of (i) one small granola bar (ii) one medium cellophane wrapped muffin, age unknown, and (iii) a choice of an orange or apple. I realize it’s Covid time but the Hilton suites product I stayed in by the SanFrancisco airport last month offered selections of hot oatmeal, eggs, breakfast meat, freshly made waffles all prepared by their staff and presented to each guest. (C) the safety bar in one elevator was broken, yes broken off leaving two rough bracket stubs to impact the unaware.(D) we are staying seven nights. At check in I requested a major room cleaning for Monday. Upon returning late Monday evening very surprised to see the room had not been touched. The evening front desk associate apologized and informed me that they only have two maids on staff, and he was sorry that they did not reach my room. I rescheduled for Tuesday. I called the front desk on Tuesday morning and was told that Tuesday was booked so we had been scheduled to Wednesday, but they would try to fit us in n Tuesday under the circumstances. I have not been back to the room so we will find out what happened today. (E) we checked in on Friday. Saturday morning I informed the front desk that one of the four lamps in the room was not working. I offered to change the bulb but was informed that (1) the front desk did not have access to bulbs, and (2) no maintenance staff works the weekend. (3) this item also was not addressed onMonday, I guess the weekend backlog pushed us to Tuesday or later. Bargain rates, Bargain place but far from Marriott quality.…

So I'm a Titanium Elite with Marriott... and I'm supposed to have a guaranteed 4pm check out. I requested it the day before and was told I had a late check out. Mikayla who is a front desk employee calls me at 12:45 and asks when I'm checking out and I told her I had a 4pm check out. She says the housekeeping is really busy and can I be out in 20 minutes... Ummm no. I can't. I have a lot of packing to do. I was supposed to h have a 4pm check out. I don't care how busy their housekeeping is. If they're so busy that means there are a ton of other rooms they could clean first. My 4pm check out is supposed to be guaranteed. It's super frustrating and for some reason that desk clerk doesn't want to honor my Marriott status.

We had a horrible experince at hotel last year, May 2021. They put us in an unfinished room, messy room first night, with no pull out sleeper. So we had to move to two rooms the next day. They put us down stairs, had a noisy person directly upstairs who made noise 24/7, yelling, jumping up and down, loud music, TV, showers at 2am, no one in my room could sleep. They had complaints from other neighbors, nothing was done. Manager refused to move us, even though their were avaiable rooms. So we spent 1 week not sleep, miserable. Manager told us "We have roudy people, they are noisy. This is not the place for you is you expect a quiet nigth". Manager never gave us Marriot point for our night stay, for allowing the maid to not clean up in 1 week. Cards did not work for more than 1 day, needed new cards to get into rooms and main lobby. Horrible stay, complaint to Corporate, nothing was done.…

Nice, quiet room at rear of hotel. Room was clean, but pretty beat up. I think it's needs a little updating. We had a little desk/table with an office type chair and one other chair with an ottoman. Nowhere for 2 people to sit and eat together. The surface light on the microwave was burned out, I like to use it for a night light, but not this time. The check in was great except we always ask for an upper floor and they did not have one available for us, so we had to listen to the guests above us (we were on the 2nd floor) walking around very early in the morning. The bathroom counter was so small, there was no room for even a small toiletries bag. All in all, pretty average. We stayed because of the location and because we had a frig w/freezer for our ice packs, and a microwave for our meals.…

Other people have described this hotel accurately. I don't feel that it lived up to the Town Place Suites reputation. We have stayed in every type of Marriott, and I wouldn't stay in this one again. A bright spot in our stay was Adriana--full of smiles at the front desk, allowing us to check in early. Vish, the night manager, tried to help us with our non functioning TV and spent time in our room. He graciously offered to move us to another room, but we had already unpacked. We were APPALLED by the signs indicating that we could receive 1000 points if we gave this place superior ratings. I like receiving extra points to use for future vacations, but this is unethical to appeal to us financially to boost their ratings.

I am only staying here one night and wish I had gone to the Courtyard. next door. Having a larger refrigerator, microwave, stove, dishwasher and kitchen sink makes this hotel ideal for someone who will be staying here for a week or so. I like the view out my window of the mountains. Gives me a feel of not being in a heavily populated metropolitan area. Rooms are fine and there is a free breakfast but I believe the Courtyard is a little nicer and more appropriate for me. But I’m glad I tried it and the gal at the front desk was amazingly nice and helpful.

This was a 5 day business trip so lots of time to check out amenities. The best part of the room was having Netflix on the TV. Also, the hotel is convenient. Conversely, the mattress definitely needs replacing...big dip in the middle. Housekeeping was hit or miss for replacing towels. Breakfast was very bland. OJ and Apple juice tasted watered down. Coffee was weak. The staff were pleasant. A huge tree trimming company and their workers descended on the hotel for 3 weeks. They were supposed to park in another area but instead some of the huge trucks took up lots of regular parking spaces. Just felt my business was not appreciated. The guests, other than the tree trimming workers, were very nice and friendly. I thought a Marriott property would have been a bit better. I was disappointed in the comfort and quality of my stay. Would not recommend this to my peers for business in the area. …

I spent 31/2 months living at Towneplace Suites while I worked as a traveling nurse. The staff were accommodating and always welcomed me home after work. My room was kept very clean. The breakfast was good so I always ate too much. I was on the second floor. The walls are thin so I could hear conversations in the room next door. that was a small inconvenience compared to be treated like a member of the staff's family

I've found my home away from home! After staying six weeks in the Town Place Suites, Thousand Oaks, I regret not having found it several years earlier. Well, it isn't perfect - but neither is my home. As I travel a lot, spending more nights in hotels than at home, I have developed my own checklist of what matters for me, when I choose a hotel. Rather than just giving overall points, I will list some of my criteria in no particular order, and readers may apply their own priorities and determine if the hotel is suitable for them or not. Please forgive me any linguistic mistakes: English is not my native language. - NOISE LEVEL I would consider this the hotel's weak point. I'm not talking noise from the outside. The freeway-noise is at a very moderate level, as the hotel is located well away from it with a strip-mall in between, further reduced in 1st-floor rooms by garden vegetation, and you get just some kind of distant "white noise" which did not bother me. Nor is there any noise from bars, gas-stations, truck-parking lots etc. The problem is the room-to-room noise that beats most of what I have experienced so far. When the guest in the room next to me is on the phone, that's as if he was sitting right beside me. Just now I involuntarily learnt his cell number through the paper-thin wall, starting with 918....I hear when he is launching his laptop (that typical Windows sound) etc. You had better not discuss any company secrets over the phone in your room...Sadly, there is nothing the hotel management can do about it. If the building lacks adequate walls, then all they could do is track down the builder and have him sentenced to a three weeks stay in a studio between two family rooms in the hotel he built. I guess he will repent. Retrofitting rooms with sound-insulation doesn't work unless you spend a fortune. So: no need to ask for a quiet room - there isn't any. Rather: pray for considerate neighbors - and be one yourself! Luckily the rooms and the corridors are carpeted, so this lessens the noise-level a bit. And the room-to-room noise seems to be a problem only in the horizontal direction, but not vertically from lower or upper levels. Regarding other common players in the noise arena: Air-conditioning: this is a steady noise which does not bother me, more like a white noise; and you can turn it on or off yourself. Refrigerator: the fridge itself is almost silent; what you hear is the fan of the freezer-compartment - this is more like a moderate sound of a hairdryer and, different from many extended stay hotels or even those with just mini-fridges, *not* like a truck engine with some gurgling water mixed in. So: kudos on this count. Water flow noise: What at some other hotels reminded me of Niagara - enough to wake you up - is hardly audible here: TPS seems to have good pipe-insulation. - LIGHTING I am glad that there are no outside balcony-roofs in front of the windows that would block the daylight from your room. So the room feels bright and cheerful. Moreover, there is plenty of lighting at the desk, a bright desk-lamp, and an additional neon tube over the lenght of the desk - fantastic! I wish they had a reading lamp at the bed, too, as the bedside lamps conceal their bright power from you by thick opal glass bottoms and tops; you cannot screw those off, as they are integrated in the lamp structure. If you like reading in bed, as I do, bring some battery-powered LED reading lamp or buy a simple clip-on lamp at Target (there is a power outlet at the lamp!). - ROOM DARKNESS at night In some hotel rooms all the LEDs can easily brighten your room to reading level. I have seen people in other hotels paste black duct-tape over the microwave display in despair. No worries here: the TV led is a hardly perceptible tiny spot and the microwave has a button at the bottom where you can turn the light off, when the microwave is not in use. There are blackout drapes in front of the window, and they are mounted right under the ceiling and connect at a right angle to the wall; + they overlap, so you need no clasps to keep them closed. They keep the room perfectly dark. Nor are there any floodlights mounted to the hotel wall outside above any rooms which would defy the strongest drape. Great bonus! There is, however, a 1/2 inch gap between the door and the floor, so the light from the corridor filters into the room. If you need a dark room to sleep, grab a free copy of USA-Today in the lobby upon arrival, then fold it lenghtwise several times into a thick strip and stash it under the door - problem solved. Save it in the cabinet for nightly use. Keeps out a cold draft, too. Don't use the good bath-towels for this! Would be easier, of course, if the hotel mounted some permanent "lip" to the bottom of the door - those things are cheap to buy at any home builders store. - BEDS You wouldn't want to promote the name "Marriott" with the quality of the bed in my room. The first night it squeaked and groaned at every turn. Turned out that the wooden support under the mattress was broken in two. Maintenance fixed that the next day - but there sure was a reason why it broke in the first place: the springs of the mattress have lost their elasticity - I doubt that Goodwill would accept this mattress as a donation. I am really lightweight, but there are people three times my weight, who would just sink into it. Well, I will survive the remaining three weeks - but a real good mattress ( like the ones in the three Choice-hotels in Orange County where I stayed earlier) would sure be nice! On the positive side: the pillows as well as the quilted duvets (not just blankets) are very pleasant. - BATH The bath has a bath-tub, and above it, a showerhead is mounted to the wall, not sliding on a "bar", so you cannot adjust the height. Water-pressure is good, and there is a lever on the showerhead with which the mode can be adjusted, e.g. "rain-like" or "massage". However, it is ca 1,92 m ( ca 6ft 3.6in ) above the bathtub-bottom: it's o.k. for me, but if you cannot reach that high, you won't be able to adjust it. And at that height most everybody will get their hair wet. Shower-caps are not a part of the bathroom amenities nor did I see them on the list of things you can buy in the lobby. When I mentioned this at the front-desk - voilà - I was given a showercap from their cabinet supply shelf. Who knows which other treasures may be hiding there: just ask! A list in the hotel welcome flyer of the additional hidden goodies available on request would be helpful. The hotel provides soap, shampoo, conditioner and a very good/rich body lotion. The towels are good quality, too. The hairdryer is not wall-mounted, but stored in one of the bathroom drawers: which means that you need not stand at the wash-basin, but can use it sitting in the easy-chair. - KITCHEN UNIT This one deserves a place in the hote|'s bragsheet. Lots of space in the big refrigerator. Different from most hotel micro-fridges, the temperature level can be set for the fridge and the freezer independently, so you need not choose between your bell peppers being frozen to pulp in the fridge or your vanilla ice-cream in the freezer compartment melting to vanilla sauce. I've set the freezer at minimum level, and it keeps ice cream boxes the way I bought them in the supermarket. The microwave is not the hotel-typical 700Watts-narrow-space, but a big, wall-mounted heavy-duty and fast 1000W unit; instructions can be seen on the frame, when you open the door. I cook all my from-scratch meals in it, so I don't use the two-burner stove top. Pots/pans are povided as are plates, cutlery, a cutting board and essential utensils like can-opener. Plates and cutlery assumably 4fold, though my room came with *one* fork, *three* knives and *three*plates. Special bonus: paper-towel rolls and dish detergent are complimentary. Be aware, though, that the sink does not have any "stopper", and smaller objects falling into that wide-mouth opening will be irretrievably lost. Nor can you fill the sink with water and detergent to wash a few dishes. I solved this problem by buying a sink stopper at the Dollar-Tree - fits perfectly (the one they sell at Walmart is too large!). Likewise at Dollar-Tree I bought a set of two burner covers, large and small, thus avoiding any spillage on the burners and creating additional counter space. - STORAGE Wonderful - it exceeds whatever storage space you might want - no need to live out of the suit-case. You might even be puzzled as to which item you put into which drawer/ behind which door/ on which shelf - there are so many. I love the huge closet, too, which is accessible fom both the living room and the bath-room. Plenty of *real* clothes hangers, as well, not those theft-discouraging dexterity-requiring knob-top-insert-in-fixed-slot types. - WORKSPACE A wide ( a little over 1.5m or 5 ft ), solid and well-lit desk with plenty of outlets within easy reach. I love the additional "desk under the desk" on wheels, which can easily be rolled anywhere - no Herculean strength required. I use it e.g. to have my breakfast in front of the window. This desk is available in most Queen Studios except those with a connecting door. The desks in the KING studios are smaller corner units to create space for that extra sofa in those rooms. The swivel desk-chairs are adjustable in height, with well-padded seats - very comfortable. Basic Wifi is free, and its quality in my room was very good, even to the point of watching youtube videos without interruptions. - BREAKFAST I was surprised that the hotel offers a full breakfast at all, as in most extended stay hotels with in-room kitchens you can just grab a packaged donut/muffin, an apple/banana and some type of candy on your way out. I would, however, consider the TPS breakfast more like an afterthought than a guest-magnet. It may well serve that businessman who wants to pacify his growling stomach, shoving whatever there is into his mouth while concentrating on the latest stats on his laptop before that all important business meeting. The same egg patties filled with cheese or a fried egg-yolk. I would suggest that they offer just plain scrambled eggs, so guests can make their own variations, have a spoonful on their toast or in their oatmeal or add some cheese, if they feel so inclined. Scrambled eggs can be more easily portioned to your appetite. Whereas if one egg *patty* only doesn't satisfy you, but two is too much, then half of the second one goes in the trash. The same goes for the pork patties vs. pork crumbles. But then, after all, I have my in-room kitchen and can fix myself scrambled eggs within a couple of minutes. - LOCATION On the micro-level the location is excellent: Going east there is a Ralph's Supermarket ( Kroger ) in 750m (about 1/2 mile), a Walmart Neighborhood Market across the street from it, and a Walgreens pharmacy in between. Going west, you can walk to a Kohl's Department store one block away, and a Smart&Final Extra next to a CVS pharmacy one minute further, with the best bread bakery of the valley, Great Harvest Bread, in the same shopping center. Many restaurants within walking distance, too. On the macro-level the hotel is a long drive away from the Central LA area and from LAX airport, and getting there in just 55 minutes is wishful thinking, unless you go on a Sunday morning, At other times, double the amount of minutes is closer to reality. But on the other hand, the distance from L.A brings with it the distance from big city hustle and air-pollution. Drawing the curtain in the morning and looking at palm trees and the distant mountains rather than skyscrapers and rows of warehouses - drawing the window open and hearing the birds chirping and leaves rustling rather than police sirens and warehouse turbines - that is the special advantage of this hotel over those in the L.A.central area. Moreover, there are plenty of walking- and hiking trails in the immediate area - *not* 6 miles away, as the hotel website says. Just *one* mile to the south is the start of a trail which ties into the extensive Los Robles trailsystem, and just one mile NE you will find a trailhead that connects with the equally extensive Wildwood trail system. - GUEST SERVICES I have saved the best for last. At other hotels there often was that *one* nice person who I hoped would be at the front-desk when I had some problem; the rest telling you that familiar "if I can do anything for you, let me know", while the eyes suggest that you had better not take them up on that offer. Not so at TPS: Here *all* of the young ladies behind the front-desk counter are not just friendly on the outside, but cordial, cheerful and willing to help. They make you feel truly welcome and see to it that problems are solved straight away - not left for the next shift to take care of. There's a great team-spirit, and kindness is coupled with efficiency. They should be given a pay raise so that they never even consider going elsewhere and will still be here when I come back at the end of this year! The complete staff, including the manager, deserves 12 points out of ten. - WHO WOULD I RECOMMEND TPS FOR If your idea of the perfect twosome weekend getaway is being pampered, hanging out together in a spacious lobby to meet other people, chatting and having fun at the bar into the early morning hours, then TPS would not be the place for you and you would be better off in the adjacent Marriott Courtyard hotel. I would recommend TPS for anyone who needs a comfortable stay for a week or a month or more while on business or maybe writing a book or working on a project etc. Or just for an extended peaceful downtime. The Studios are suitable for one guest, the King Studios for someone who prefers to work from a comfortable sofa at times or take a nap on it and does not need a lot of desk-space. Even with those paper-thin walls the overall noise-level in the hotel was reasonable due to its nature as a *business* place. I think it would not normally happen that a bus-load of tourists or a rambunctious youth group descend upon the place, keeping in contact by shouting from one end of the corridor to the other with room doors kept open. - OTHER THINGS To LOOK FORWARD TO Impeccable cleanliness of rooms and building Plenty of parking with wide spaces - no need to squeeze out of or into your car.…
