Hotel's Favourite
Good solid place to stay a short drive north and west of LA. The rooms are comfortable and clean. All rooms overlooks a beutifully landscaped courtyard which hosts a nice outdoor pool. Staff was a bit robotic but we were just passing through, and as a place to stay for such purpose it fit the bill.

From the very helpful staff, to the nicely appointed rooms, I highly recommend the Palm Garden to all who are even considering a stay in the area.
Renovated. Classic layout. Pub. Great food. Pool/Hot Tub. Super clean. Free breakfast and proximity to the 101 make it a perfect location for a day tripper.
Centrally located between LA and Santa Barbara, this hotel is near everything you could possibly need at a moments notice and far enough away from major metro areas to relax and unwind in peace and comfort. Modern amenities and free WiFi are a definite plus.
A complimentary bottled water on my way out the door every morning was a nice touch.
I will definitely stay again and highly recommend this hotel.

We booked a garden view room on the first floor, which was quiet and free of freeway noise. (Thank-you previous reviewers!) The room was exactly as pictured. They just completed a remodel of the rooms. The bed was comfortable, the pillows oversize, but squishy, just the way I like them, and the sheets crisp and fresh smelling. White fluffy towels populated the brightly lit bathroom. The shower is spacious with a square, almost over head, rain style showerhead. Large mini-style refrigerator built into the bureau under the TV. Being built in, behind a facia door kept noise from its compressor to a minimum. Staff was friendly and helpful. As the bar is closed, you get two drink tickets, at check in, that can be exchanged for wine, beer, or a well drink. Breakfast is ordered from a short menu in the morning, and is packaged and ready to go in a brown bag from a ground floor room. The breakfast burritos were generously packed with eggs and sausage. They are in the process of remodeling their restaurant, and their pool deck. When those items are complete, this will be an even BETTER place to stay.

Mason was so helpful from the first call. I actually turned around and came to this hotel while cancelling another hotel we had a reservation at. Mason explained what his hotel does right now. They do a hot breakfast, wear masks and clean everything. The pool was warm and clean. The hotel staff was helpful with bringing towels to the room right away, or helping to get the room at the right temp. The rooms have been remolded and not low end. They have couches and desks. The bed is very comfortable. Bathrooms are really nice. What a deal at these prices. This is a hidden gem from West Lake or wherever. 20-30 minutes to Malibu. Worth staying here. I wouldn't stay anywhere else. Starbucks is close although they have coffee in the room and you can get a hot breakfast during Covid. Yes a hot breakfast. They give a drink upon check in like 805 or a Wine Spritzer.
Mason was flawless from the phone call to coming in and paying for the room. Great staff and very attentive.

I would just like to commend the Palm Garden Hotel for its exceptional service and courteous staff. Our youth basketball team stayed there in order to compete in a local tournament. Charles made it a point to locate all of our rooms in the same vicinity so that we could be together. Our experience started with a warm greeting, pleasant conversation, he allowed some of our team early check-in when they arrived and we were provided water for everyone. He explained that by contacting the hotel directly in the future, we may receive better rates. We were told where everything was and it was topped off with very clean, and nicely organized accommodations. Super close to many stores and restaurants so it was really convenient. Would definitely recommend this hotel!!! Thank you again Charles and the staff at Palm Garden Hotel.

We went to the Palm Garden Hotel during the latest heat wave, when our a/c blew and our house reached 95 degrees in the early evening. We had some familiarity with the Hotel as we had held my eldest daughter's Bat Mitzvah "kids" party there six years ago, but we had never spent a night. I believe we got the last room (it was a Holiday weekend) and, in addition to my spouse, myself and two teenagers, we also brought our (smallish, well-behaved) dog with us to stay two nights.
The Palm Garden did not disappoint! Our standard room (2 queen beds) had definitely been refurbished. Kids liked the "barn door" leading the the bathroom. Beds were quite comfortable; toiletries provided were nice quality. Because we went during the Pandemic, when we got to our room we wiped everything down with disinfectant wipes we brought, but surfaces seemed clean and refreshed even without our actions. Breakfast (included) was unusually good for a hotel. We didn't use the pool or exercise room, but grounds were nicely kept, with a combo of plants, trees, flowers, grass and turf. Beautiful at night with the lights lit in the courtyard. Result: we will definitely go again... perhaps for a special weekend or if (fingers crossed this doesn't happen) our a/c goes out again!

As noted by some other reviewers, this hotel is either under renovation or being extended so part of it is a building site.
Contrary to other reviewers' comments, I found the staff on check in not that helpful and the check in process was quite slow.
The big plus here though is the bedroom and bathroom which are large and clearly recently renovated. The bathroom is one of the nicest I've seen in a similarly priced hotel and the bedroom itself is large and comfortable.
Because of the renovation/construction work, they don't have a dining room on site, so you have to collect your breakfast from a temporary kitchen and take it back to your room. The breakfast itself was pretty average.
I'm sure that once the renovations are completed this hotel will put its prices up so if you need to visit the area and simply need a room for a night or two, this would be a good choice before it gets more expensive,

The hotel was extremely dirty! This includes the carpets, beds, chairs, and to a level that I could not allow my daughter to take her shoes off. Even after having them move our family to a room with a tile floor, the room was not kept clean. Some areas in the room was smelling dog pee.
To make it easy for the readers and to help you stay away from a bad decision, below I have listed the areas that took our immediate attention.
1. Dog fur on chairs, bebs
2. Dog pawprints on the bedsheets
3. Spiders and insects on the bed
4. Carpets were dirty, with full of marks (unsure what those are)
I'd rather see you spend your valuable money on a cheap motel. At least, your expectations are in line from the get-go.

Please keep in mind the hotel is under construction. That said TWay and I have booked here three times. Most recently the pool was finished and the help at the front desk namely Mike G went above and beyond to see that our stay was better than expected. The rooms are all newly redone and the properly is clean and well groomed.
The location is easy to find and quiet and our visit to Hotwire resulted in an extremely competitive rate.
Room service is supported by local restaurants. For the money it is a great value.

To Thousand Oaks? Probably $60-$70 minimum.
I've never heard of a late check-IN time. Your real worry should be about how long your landed flight will sit on the airfield at LAX waiting for a gate to receive you. Your next worry is whether Brendan's Irish Pub will still be open when you finally arrive at PGH. But don't worry about having a room ready for you as long as you have a reservation.
