After camping with my two daughters, 8, and 15 in the Sequoia National Park, we needed a pampering place to stay. Mars is a very welcoming innkeeper. She joined my daughters and I for S'Mores nightly after she had lit the bonfire. They had just...More

When I decided to write this review following our recent stay at the Rio Sierra Riverhouse, I took the opportunity to read previous reviews and was surprised to find references to Sean, a security Guard, and Cheryll & Erin, housekeepers. My surprise was caused by...More

My wife and I manage a motel in Cambria, and honestly could not think of anything about the Rio Sierra Riverhouse that we would like to change. It is now our favorite place in CA. We almost went back to Napa, where we honeymooned, but...More

I would like to know why, as a gold member of Diamond's Hawaiian Collection, I cannot make a reservation on the owner's website for this or any of the other Diamond resorts on Maui, but can go to this website and get a suite for any week I want? It seems that once they have their hooks into you for your purchase, the availability goes down and you have to book so far in advance that flexibility is lost. Not to mention they forced us week owners into the "flexibility" of a points system in the so-called Hawaiian Collection so that they could get all the additional owners of other properties to foot the bill for the Point Poipu disaster. If there is availability for anyone to stay, then first priority should always go to an owner, PERIOD. Evidently, they'll sell to the public before they honor the owners.

Is there some confusion here? We are a small property in Three Rivers, California -- not a "Diamond" resort on Maui. We don't have online booking - yet - but we respond very quickly to booking inquiries by email through our... More
