The Inn of the Shenandoah is an elegantly remodeled Victorian home located in the heart of Luray. In typical European flair, antique glass windows elegantly adorn two mirroring dining and sitting rooms outfitted with beautiful crystal chandeliers. The Inn features three suites outfitted with jacuzzi tubs for two, with outdoor balconies, crystal chandeliers and king or queen beds. The Inn has a large back yard with gardens and is regularly used for special events and weddings. Guests may also choose to stay in the Cottage, directly behind the Inn, which houses two oversized suites with kitchenettes, Jacuzzi bathtubs, and private decks.

My wife and I spent 3 nights at the Inn of the Shenandoah. The Inn is well decorated with both period pieces and eclectic charm. Our room was large with a sitting area and table and chairs on the deck outside our door. The room (the turret room) offered a refrigerator, jacuzzi tub and a very comfortable king size bed. Janina, the owner, was delightful in greeting us as we arrived, showing us the room, and explaining the ins and outs of the Inn. In the morning, she met us with a smile and conversation as we had breakfast listening to light jazz music. She provided helpful hints for visiting Shenandoah National Park and eating in and around Luray. The Inn is beautiful in layout and decor, but the personal attention that Janina shows in making her guests feel welcome is the reward for staying here.

Made last minute arrangements to stay here. The owners, Matthew and Janina were pleasant, accommodating, great to chat with. The place is absolutely stunning, old world charm but comfortable and updated. Clean, comfortable, good food. We were there to celebrate my wife's birthday. We were greeted with cupcakes, candles and a chorus of happy birthday. When you really look closely, you see all the little things they do to make this place wonderful and make you feel welcome. It was the perfect home base for our getaway. A little more than the local hotel, but worth every penny. We will be back.

I recently stayed at the Inn with my boyfriend to celebrate his birthday. The Innkeeper was extremely kind and accommodating while also offering us advice of what to do in the area. The room was spotless and beautiful. Breakfast after morning was served in a lovely fashion and the food was amazing! We will definitely stay here again.

Our stay in Luray with Janina was absolutely perfect. We gravitate towards places to stay that are steeped in culture, history, quirkiness and intimacy. The Inn of the Shenandoah has plenty to spare! As we were escorted in and up to our room we felt the warmth and beauty we were looking for— luxurious sitting rooms filled with interesting treasures and antique stained glass, Billie Holiday cooing through the main floor stereo, a glimpse of the cozy nook awaiting us for breakfast. We arrived in the King Turret suite and Janina explained and provided everything we needed to enjoy our stay. One of the amenities I was most jazzed for was the in room jacuzzi tub. To enjoy a soak in the luxury and openness of your room, with soft dimmed light and gentle music, what a joy! There is a private entrance to the room that is accessible by the wrap around deck, and it's nice that it is right by the jacuzzi. If it was a warmer season I would have left the door open to enjoy the sunset spring air. Janina's breakfast service was excellent with an abundant spread of delicious offerings. We fell in love with this sweet Inn and Janina herself, as this is a top tier Bed and Breakfast to enjoy in the VA mountains.

This place is a gem. The town is lovely and is in an awesome location. Lots of little restaurants nearby and Luray Caverns about 5 minutes away. What makes this property extra special is the couple that runs it. Matthew and Janina were absolutely wonderful. They went above and beyond with their hospitality. They even served hot chocolate to my 6-year-old nephew who stopped by to visit... which was so kind. Breakfast was served hot with a smile in the mornings by Janina and Matthew is a wealth of knowledge regarding things to do nearby. My husband and I were visiting for Thanksgiving weekend. We would certainly return again.

The Inn at Shenandoah is a magical place! The innkeepers were amazing. They knew everything about the area, recommended great hikes, scenic walks, spots around town, and provided great conversation. The inn was the perfect balance of elegant and comfortable. The Turret Suite was gorgeous, spacious with a great sitting area, had a jacuzzi tub, and was appointed with everything you could need and more. Breakfast was delicious with fresh fruit, muffins, gourmet eggs, and coffee and tea galore. Whether you’re looking for a fun filled adventurous trip or a quiet getaway, the Inn at Shenandoah is the place to go. Be sure to read the poem in the welcome book for a neat surprise!

My husband and I enjoyed our two day getaway at this lovely home while visiting the Shenandoah Valley and the Luray Caverns. We were comfortable in the Turret Suite with a gorgeous posted king size bed, comfortable sitting area & spa/tub. Breakfast was delicious and satisfying with fresh bakery items each day. This is a small VA town and there was only one restaurant in this town that we'd consider above average family fare. Be sure to make a reservation next door at Moonshadow and you won't be disappointed.

We had a fabulous stay at this cozy inn with European charm, loads of amenities, a homemade breakfast, and a lovely host who made us feel comfortable and welcomed. We will definitely return, perhaps in the fall to take advantage of the changing foliage along Skyline Drive and enjoy a bit of antiquing in the shops of Luray.
