I'll be straight with you, I had a bad experience with a dog as a kid and they really do make me nervous. I really wasn't expecting to be met at the door by a German Shepherd cross, albeit an old friendly one. I certainly wasn't expecting one to have the run of the house and to be in the...

This place lives up to its reviews on TA. First piece of advice? Follow the instructions to find the place, it is remote. The views are incredible, just lovely, add to that the hummingbirds and butterflies and its just about perfect. We sat in the hot tub enjoying the view and a glass of wine, the silence was palatable. We...

We're so glad you enjoyed your stay. You're right about the outdoor furniture needing to be updated. It'll be done soon. Thank you, Christa

Stayed here back in early June 2016 with my mom for a little girls getaway. Such a lovely place to stay!! Every morning we were greeted by Willie the dog and treated to the best coffee. Christa was a wonderful hostess and made each day a delight with a wonderful breakfast, great conversation and s'mores! There were deer right outside...

This was our 2nd visit. Rooms are excellent and spacious, with a comfortable queen bed. We had a deck with a nice view of the mountains off our room. Wifi was decent., good for general use, not for steaming. Our stay was for 3 nights. Christa made us feel welcome and knows the area well. She gave us good info...

We've stayed here a couple of times. The breakfasts are always great, and the cabin is gorgeous! It's a great place to relax or do touristy things. She was able to pick out all the great places in town for us to go to, which was a huge help.

We had such a wonderful time and stayed for two nights this July. Christa is such a kind and helpful hostess. She welcomed us to the area and offered suggestions of local spots and activities to do in the area. We hope to visit again in the fall season and make good use of the hot tub and campfire.

Our room had a breathtaking view, breakfast was delicious, and Christa was a wonderful hostess. My favorite part about the B and B was chatting with the hostess and the other guests at breakfast. Christa's directions were very helpful in finding Once Upon a Mountain and finding places for dinner. It is the perfect place to relax and get away...

We stayed just for a night at Once Upon a Mountain. We really really enjoyed our stay. Christa was a superb hostess, and breakfast was scrumptuous. Our bedroom was beautiful. Nothing can top the view we had in the balcony. We could have stayed another night, if only, something did not come up. We will definitely go back in the...

We recently had a one night stay at Once Upon a Mountain which was simply too short a stay for such a wonderful location. This fabulous B&B is, as the name suggests, at the top of a mountain road although still easily accessible from Luray. It sits in a beautiful spot and we stayed in the Queens Suite which was...

This was the perfect place for a two-night weekend getaway for us from DC. Once Upon a Mountain is the right spot for a break from the city - with fresh air, access to Shenandoah hiking, and general relaxation. The B&B is about 10 minutes outside of downtown Luray, via a quiet, pretty drive through farm fields. We stayed in...
