Property's Favourite Review
Full disclosure, I had wanted to book a different fishing lodge originally, but after some research and looking into available dates, I booked with Cascade Creek Lodge. It was a great choice. The Kraft family have been running this lodge since around 2016(?) and they have perfected the Alaskan fishing experience. The rooms , all newly renovated, with a private balcony over looking Mt Edgecomb let you get lulled to sleep by the sound of the Pacific lapping against the shore right outside your window. The view is second to none. The beds are super comfortable and the rooms have all the amenities and more, that one could ask for from a fishing lodge. Labeling Cascade Creek a fishing lodge, seems to be doing it an injustice, the food served to the guests is outstanding. Kristie, who prepared all the meals has an amazing palette, and she has perfected her signature dishes served at the lodge.I was a little worried about a lack of choice, but after the first couple of meals, I enjoyed not having to think about what I was going to have because everything was great. The spruce tip Creme Brulee was one of my favorites. The fishing blew away all of my expectations. My party fished with Captain Nathan and his mate Dillon(Sandwich King). They had us on the fish at all times, and could not have been more attentive and helpful. I have been fishing more many years, but if it will be your first time out with them, they will have you catching fish like a pro in no time. I just finished putting away over a hundred pounds of fillets my son and I caught and I can’t wait to cook some. We caught our limit of rock fish, King salmon, halibut, and ling cod. The truly outstanding thing Cascade Creek Lodge gets right is the attention to detail and logistics of making the guests stay hassle free. From the moment they pick you up from the airport to the moment you pick up your labeled flash frozen fillets at Sitka airport all the Ts are crossed and the i’s are dotted. With so many moving parts on an excursion like this one would think an occasional hiccup might occur; it didn’t. Book now you will thank yourself later. John

Our stay at CCL was wonderful. There are several things that sets this lodge apart from the previous lodge we stayed at in Sitka. Main Lodge: Just beautiful and the location couldn’t be better. It’s very spacious and has many comfy couches and recliners if you just want to kick up your feet and relax. There are windows in the dining area where you can enjoy the ocean views while dining. You will not find a buffet line crammed with many anglers at this lodge. Kristi prepares delicious meals, and you will be served your meals. Her desserts and sourdough bread were amazing. I tried convincing her to sell me a loaf of her sourdough bread to take home but to no avail. Lol! Will wash dishes for Kristi’s bread! Lol! This lodge is very intimate and carries a maximum of 18 anglers. Rooms: All rooms are oceanfront with a patio. Listening to the crashing waves and taking in Alaska’s crisp fresh air provided a very peaceful and restful stay. Slept well. I was a non-angler, so I had to purchase my own lunch which was perfectly fine with me because I love going into town while my husband is out fishing. I come here to decompress from the busy lifestyle back home. There is a great nearby grocery/liquor store within walking distance that serves hot meals and has a deli. Kristi and staff will be more than happy to transport you to/from the downtown area. Kristi has the perfect demeanor. She is so kind and sweet. She was always available to answer any questions I had. Since it was our first time at the lodge, we didn’t know what to expect or how things operated at this lodge. She was never hurried or stressed, and never once did we feel surrounded by chaos. According to my husband, he had a blast fishing with Nathan and deckhand Hunter. Both were outstanding personally and professionally. He was fortunate to have fished with a great group. The fish processor that CCL uses is great. The fish arrived frozen and was beautifully packaged and individually marked. I highly recommend this lodge to anyone looking for an overall great experience. This lodge did not disappoint. The Kraft family runs a great operation here in Sitka. It’s very obvious they put a lot of love, thought and care into this lodge. See you in the years to come! Thank you!

We've stayed with Cascade Creek Lodge the last three years. The Kraft Family treat you like one of their own, from the time you step off the plane, to the send-off the day of departure. Food is 4-star, the rooms and facility are clean and well maintained. The view from the rooms offer fantastic sunsets, whales, seals and of course Bald Eagles. Wendy and I have been paired with with some wonderful fish people. Adult novices, and six year old professionals. The boats are well equipped and professionally Captained. The deck hands are impressive to watch as they work the boat to insure your time aboard is not wasted tangled, or waiting on bait. Our catch is professionally processed and waiting for us at the airport the morning of our flight home. Three trips, and we have yet to arrive home with a thawed harvest. Go enjoy! We are headed back in 2024!

What a beautiful place to stay in Alaska. It’s almost mystical! My room was beautiful, had everything I needed/wanted. Fell asleep each night to the waves crashing the shore and woke to the same. I slept so well. Owners are great, kind and helpful. Very very nice experience!

The Kraft family made my first trip to Alaska everything you would expect. The rooms are clean and updated with great views.Kristys meals are nothing short of a what you would get in a fine dining five star restaurant. She will leave you excited about what’s on the next nights menu.Tyler are boat captain and deck hand John worked hard to make sure we were in fish all day catching limits of most species and filling our freezers here at home. The Kraft family made sure we had an amazing trip and I can’t thank them enough.

4 of us fished this lodge for four days in mid-July. The lodge provided thorough info on what to bring and what to expect. The rooms were modern with queen beds and bathrooms. Breakfast and dinner were tasty and filling. The captain, Nathan, and deckhand, Isaac, were friendly, knowledgeable, and always helpful. They kept the boat, the tackle, and the baits ready for action. We caught limits of halibut, king salmon, and rock fish. We caught approximately 20 silvers using trolling and mooching techniques. Finally, we caught black cod at 1,700 feet with electric reels. I rate my Cascade Creek Lodge experience , as the very best of my 5 Alaska trips!

I'ld fished with Captain Tyler with my husband and family who just don't share the passion. Thankfully, my girlfriends of 48 - 25 years joined me to fill our boat as the Legendary Luring Ladies for 3 memorable days! Several gals landed their first King Salmon and Halibut, only to call their husbands to ask them to clean the freezer, to their dismay. The lodge surpassed our hopes by inclusively accommodating one dairy-free individual, while we all savored each calorie. We already booked next-year's trip, while limiting each gal to inviting one friend. Bonus? Seeing Orca pods, sea lions, bald eagles, and whales, while sleeping to the sound of lapping waves.

Joan, The "Luring Ladies" lived up to their name!! What a great time :) They had at least one episode where 4 kings were hooked and fighting at the same time and we would have given them the same name if they had not beat us to the punch! Sincerely, Caryn, Rich and crew

Have fished much of SE Alaska, but never Sitka. Connecting with the family at Cascade Creek just made our trip very special. I had that sense when searching last winter for a place. Conversations with both Caryn and Rich were positive and gracious that I knew this was the right place for our group. They fully met our expectations...on land and out on the water!! What was special.... Location: easy to get to; right on the water; tasty, nutritious, savory meals; comfortable beds; a sauna that looks out over the water!!; 'down home' feeling with engaged yet comfortable staff. Fishing: great, well equiped 30' walk around comfortable boats; well maintained equipment; fun, skilled captain/deckhand. Experience: We all felt like 'family' , owners/staff were there to insure our comfort and to genuinely engage with guests welcoming them as new friends. We were lucky weatherwise with four great days on the water! That added with good catches, a most comfortable place to come back to , and the caring nature of staff all made for an exceptional trip!
