First - the reader needs to understand that this is one of two places to stay in town. It is a pretty hotel but it lacks all aspects of hospitatility. Guests are treated as "passing through" not made to feel welcomed. Check In - Dan - robotic. No smile or welcome. Borderline unfriendly. Several days later, arriving back from a... More

Spent one night here as we were visiting Theodore Roosevelt National Park in mid May. Fedora is a charming town in a spectacular setting, but pretty much everything is closed until Memorial Day. Rough Riders was open-but the onsite restaurant was closed-as was every other restaurant in town but one (which was packed). The hotel provided a rather sparse breakfast... More

What drew me to this hotel was its history, and there’s plenty of that in the hotel and the town of Medora that surrounds it. As you may already know, Teddy Roosevelt stayed in this hotel multiple times in the years before he was president, specifically in Room 501. There are other characters who played major roles in the town... More

We did not know what to expect on our first trip to North Dakota but found the Rough Riders Hotel to be excellent. Apart from the reception and housekeeping staff, we saw no one else at this hotel. Our visit was in late April and little in Medora was open. We imagine that in the high season this is the... More

An unexpected nice surprise on trip. We were visiting the Theadore Roosevelt National Park and did not expect to find an excellent hotel in the area. Great location with clean rooms, comfortable beds and a nice shower. Guest service was great and within walking distance of the entire town. Do not miss it!

Very nice hotel at the base of the TR Roosevelt National Park. Clean rooms, walk in shower, good breakfast with a lot to choose from. The atmosphere is a fun western feel. We really enjoyed staying here and the staff is really helpful and nice too. We stayed in the off season and the price was very reasonable.

We absolutely loved our stay at the Rough Riders Hotel in Medora, ND! We had a King Tower room and it was just beautiful! It was very clean and comfortable. The room had everything you need in a room...comfortable bed, refrigerator, microwave, very nice tiled walk-in shower, WiFi...etc. The staff was extremely friendly and accommodating. The hotel also has an... More

Where Teddy stayed. Really neat place beautifully restored. Just about had it to ourselves in the off season. Plenty to explore in this town. Good food on the premises. Beautiful lobby where your group can relax.

Awesome atmosphere, the restaurant attached has some of the best food that I have ever had. Very unique old school saloon attached. Very clean, lots of history in there and the best location in town. We had meetings and the food was great and very nice meeting rooms
