I usually stay in one of the larger hotels in Newport when I visit but Thanksgiving weekend was different -- I stayed at The Attwater. Everything about it was perfect; you felt the history of the building and I loved what they did to bring it into this century. Location was perfect -- right off of Bellevue Ave. The manager...

The staff were all very helpful and friendly. On arrival we discovered that we had been allocated a different room from the one which we had booked. This would have been a problem as I have Parkinson's and need a walk-in shower so we had paid extra for a suite. However, the issue was quickly resolved and we were given...

My daughter and I only stayed one night on a whirlwind New England road trip and I can honestly say we will return if we come back to Newport. Beautiful hotel, comfortable bed, quiet room. Got a great night's sleep and came down to breakfast of several slightly eclectic offerings. Very tasty and plentiful. Great coffee, too! The hotel is...

We enjoyed a lovely weekend getaway in Newport, RI. The Attwater was a great place to stay! It is located just off of Bellevue and Memorial Ave, which makes for a great locations. Very easy to get to the Mansions, the tennis hall of fame, restaurants and bars. The room was spacious and very clean. We had a king sized...

My husband and I recently celebrated our wedding anniversary in Newport, Rhode Island. As beautiful as Newport is, with so much to do and so much beauty, the Atwater absolutely made our vacation! The hotel, room, amenities, homemade breakfast and treats, and the hospitality of all staff were exceptional. Billy and Andrea, the General Managers of the Atwater, are professional,...

The Attwater is beautiful and in a perfect walking distance to both the harborfront action on Thames and the magnificent mansions on Bellevue. The bed was super comfortable and the room was spacious, clean, and bright. My only "complaints" are that for the price we paid, I expected a larger/nicer bathroom, and the walls were thin; both nights we heard...

The staff were exceptionally helpful about all the sightseeing in the area. They also were great in recommending restaurants. The breakfasts were like little appetizers in size but were good. Be prepared to walk, because everything is close to this hotel. The room was clean. The gym was ok, could use more equipment, but again it was clean.

Loved this hotel! From check in where they gave us an ipad with Newport Info on dining, sips, shopping and things to do and a plate of delicious chocolate chip cookies. Room decor fun! Included breakfast yummy. Fitness center small but adequate. Close to everything. Will return!
