Very cosy and relaxing place with a lot of charm. It is just 10 minutes walk from the main shopping and dining area on Thames st and America's Cup ave., but is located on a very quiet street with other beautiful mansions. I have stayed in "proper" hotels in Newport before, but Marshall Slocum is much more comfotable, has more...

When we first arrived, we had a great welcome from the host Mark. He showed us places to go and have us a map to help with our planning. The inn was beautiful! Outside there was a nice deck and great parking lot. We stayed in the small apt room. It was really beautiful. The room was set off the...

The porch and deck were great to sit on and enjoy a glass of wine. The area is very quiet and surrounded by lovely trees. It is close to Bellevue Ave and great restaurants. I was pleasantly surprised at the full breakfast served from a menu offering several choices. I would stay there again if in Newport.

The Marshall Slocum guest house is an excellent option considering the wide array oc choices in Newport. It is just a few minutes walk from town and the rooms are comfortable and tastefully decorated. The breakfast would rival (and surpass) those of any gourmet restaurant. Mark Spring, our host, was cordial and welcoming - and understated. Some small touches such...

My wife and I, along with her parents booked adjoining rooms for two nights mid-week and could not have been happier. Lovely rooms; sociable, friendly atmosphere & owners; impeccably clean; great breakfast prepared and served individually with many options (more than I have ever seen at a B&B). Not the least expensive option by any means, but a bargain compared...

The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, giving us recommended tours and local hotspots. The breakfasts each morning were delicious. We were able to walk to dinner several nights and ride our bicycles to the local beaches and scenic drives. We look forward to having the option of staying here again in the future!

We stayed for 1 night while at a "learn to sail" course. The inn was nice and quiet, the bed comfortable and the perfect end to a busy day. What stood out was the breakfast. I love great breakfast and this can't be beat. Being from New England I try to be outside whenever possible as our good weather season...

Thank you for your review, we are glad that you enjoyed your stay. Breakfast is an important start to the day, and our chef has created a menu that offers a variety of dishes such as, banana pancakes, blueberry stuffed French toast, Greek omelet, or a fresh fruit plate.

Our stay at the Marshall Slocum Guest House was a fantastic experience! I am normally a pretty picky person, but I was left without anything bad to say! The staff are very friendly, welcoming, accommodating, helpful, and knowledgeable. They make you feel at home as soon as you arrive. You are shown to your room, made familiar with the grounds,...
