Found this place by accident. We were driving along the coast and made a wrong turn. Are we glad we did. We stayed here for the last two nights of our vacation. This place is amazing. They bent over backwards making sure that we were happy. Without a doubt, we would come back here.

This hotel is fantastic! This is on par with the serene atmosphere of a Shangri-La. The staff is amazing -- friendly, attentive, prompt, and responsive. Especially Paul, a manager for the outdoor pool and beach activities. The amenities are just right -- not too much to over-extend staff, not too little to get bored. The room was more than we imagined (suite). Full-size living room, two FULL bathrooms, both with deep tubs, showers, and dual vanities.

We had a very relaxing enjoyable time! The scenic room was beautiful with the mountain houses twinkling lights at night. The bed and bathroom very comfortable. They even had heated toilets. The breakfast buffet that came with the room was the best I’ve ever had. Shout out to Jared, Kale, and Angie for giving great service, and everyone else. I can’t remember everyone’s name, but we loved our stay!

Although the we found that Kahala is starting to show it's age a bit, mostly in small ways within the Dolphin Lanai room we had, it is still a glorious, high-end resort. It is far enough removed to feel secluded and private, small enough that it almost never feels crowded, and close enough to the action of Oahu that you'll never be wanting for things to do. The lobby and restaurants are very well executed, and all of the staff that we interacted with were amazing, and are truly what made the trip extra special.

I first visited the iconic Kahala Resort in 1981. While I have visited other tropical resorts since then, I have concluded you can't do better than The Kahala. The location is unequalled on Oahu. Located on the other side of Diamond Head from Waikiki, The Kahala offers a rare feeling of seclusion you won't find anywhere else on the island and a beautiful protected sandy beach. Perhaps the greatest asset of The Kahala is it's wonderful staff. They are cheerful, dependable, and professional. Many of them have been with the resort for 30-40 years. The resort boasts five separate restaurants so you dont need to leave the resort. However, if you do want to explore Waikiki it's only 15 minutes away and the hotel offers a free shuttle. The Kahala was built in 1964 and offers a classic ambiance that newer mega resorts can't duplicate. Unfortunately on our most recent visit the resort is showing it's age. The hotel is in need of general renovation including paint, carpeting, and bathroom remodeling. Everything still works but such work needs to be done soon to keep this iconic resort in the top echelon it deserves.

When we got to the hotel we were disappointed by the ugly view of the parking lot. It was not sea view but sea of cars. When we asked to be moved at first they said they had nothing else. For the price we paid we wanted at least a real Hawaii experience. Then James came to the rescue and areanged for a nice room. That part took anout a day of moving us around but finally landed. We were bothered by the Dolphin pools and the people who came to watch and swim with them in a small lagoon. A zoo. All this was fine but the food in the two restaurants was bad. From the bread to the artifical juices and lunch it was simply bad food. Cece tried her best to help us have a better experience but the nabagement needs to look at these supermarket sliced bread and lack of taste even in the simplest salads we had for lunch. That’s the reason for ys not to come back. Barely any beach service or umbrellas. Thank god for the fabulous Arancino restaurant! Hoku was pricey and pretentious.

We stayed at the Kahala to celebrate our honeymoon, the staff was amazing, nice and attentive, the food at all their restaurants was delicious. We stayed at a room with ocean view, the room was clean and the cleaning staff went out of their way to make sure we were stocked with everything we need. The spa personnel was professional and courteous. Overall we loved our stay here and we would like to come back soon.

We finally had our honeymoon after 23 years and I couldn’t be happier with our choice. The staff from the minute we walked were amazing. From the champagne to our room to the cookies from the spa we have never felt so pampered. They truly do care about their guests. Thank you for making our dream vacation so special.

Our rooms, though generous in size, had outdated, uncomfortable, worn furniture and the soiled carpet was dotted with numerous stains. The bed and linens were very comfortable. The bathroom lighting was too dim and I had to call to have the faulty electrical outlet replaced near the sink. The property is undergoing a major remodel soon so I hope this resort is restored to its proper elegance. The restaurants were delightful, as well as the dolphin lagoons, the pool and the beach.

The Kahala is just an outstanding choice if you are staying in Oahu. We lived in Oahu 25 years ago, and wanted a perfect jumping off point for activitiies, most of which were not going to be in Waikiki. By being off the main Waikiki beach area, it has a private, secluded feel all its own. There is no traffic around the resort, which made it very easy to get on the highway to do other things quickly. Food on the resort is excellent when you want to stay on the property. Rooms are outstanding and the beds are A+. The lanais are great with beautiful views and comfortable furniture. The service was outstanding. Only small negative was the internet reception and cost. Reception was poor on the lanai with frequent drops on the "basic" plan. I really don't think a resort of this quality should be charging $15 a day for "streaming quality" internet. It's a basic utility- just include it. The rooms and hallways are getting a little tired, but they appear to have renovations planned soon.
