I'm not sure what others experience was, but for the money I thought this was a very good value. I had a huge room with a balcony on the 12th floor.
The breakfast had a variety of east and western foods... It was decent.
Fast check in, was offered free upgrade to upper floor with balcony without being asked. Room was clean and comfortable all around except for the shower which could use a good scrub. Only one elevator was in service but still manageable. Excellent location. Front desk...More

The upper floors will have a partial view of the ocean, and maybe some closer to the ocean will have a better view that others, but you have to understand that the hotel is about three blocks from the beach. There was a nice view of the Ala Wai canal from our room though.
There are only two types of rooms. Superior are on all floors however there are one with King bed and ones with two beds. You have to ask for what you want otherwise they will give whatever is available.
