This place is Garbage. Please please stay away. People are rude, hotel is very old, they over book the hotel, zero safety measures (you will get sick for sure if you stay in this hotel). Any one walking in the street can access the hotel (pool / restrooms / rooms) so it is totally unsafe. This hotel feels like public restrooms (any one can go inside and pee)

Hotel's Favourite
We stayed one night in the rainbow tower full ocean view and 6 nights in the grand Waikikian. The rainbow tower had an amazing view and it was just breath taking. We then moved to a time share room on the 27th floor with partial ocean view. The view was more city view but the room itself was high , spacious and well kept. The appliances in the 2 bedroom suite was modern and having a kitchen was very beneficial for us having breakfast before we leave for the day. The staff at the village was very courteous and friendly and we never had a problem. The lagoon was perfect for the kids and for novice scuba divers who are afraid of sharks in the real ocean (Like me) the lagoon gets crowed during the day so we usually go early. The beach was a little rough with a lot of rocks It was pretty good though. There are 5 pools an the property with some being adults only but we basically used the one near the gran Waikikian (3 levels with slides ) and the super pool. There are many restaurants nearby and prices are higher at the resort as expected but for the convenience and service it was worth it. We went to tropics twice and tried a few of the other cheaper take away places in the village. We mainly ate at Ala Moana mall food court and bought groceries at the foodland there

Let's start with the rooms: terrible, no microwave, "ocean view" was definitely NOT ocean view, needs renovation, and house keeping has not been by apparently they don't come for 5 days?? Also they nickel and dime you on the towels for some reason. When you enter your hotel tower, you get the feeling it is old and desperate need of renovations. Amenities: TOO many people in the pool, no pool service, we ordered a drink once but they never were seen again, there were no lounge chairs. GOOD LUCK getting a chair, you need to get there super early and try to reserve a spot as the masses all flood through the open gate to throw a piece of clothing or a towel on a chair. The pools are tiny. It's like they built the resort for X number of buildings and then built a few extra buildings but never added or expanded any of the pools. Or maybe the locals tend to slip in and use the pools along with us, I don't know it was hard to tell. Also, no life guards and only 1 of the 3 water slides was being used at one time so your kids have to wait like 15 minutes for each time they go down the slide. Price: WAY over priced for what you get. It's a zoo here. You get the feeling that this is a big joke and I am the punch-line. Everything nearby is super over priced, and everything in the hotel is terribly overpriced and mediocre at best (food). You'd think when you pay 20 bucks for a hamburger it's gonna be at least as good as McDonalds... but no, it was not. If you are gonna spend $4,000 on a vacation, save your money, spend a little bit more and go somewhere else!

I will cut right to the chase. Nothing about this place is relaxing. It's been years since I've been to the property and a lot has changed. To think that people save a small fortune to come here with their families, only to be nicked and dimed and have to endure overcrowded facilities and long lines. This was a business trip for me, extended a few days after. -Long check in lines are real - Read the reviews, get the HH App, check in to your room, activate the digital card. -Long queues and lines for elevators are real. Not to mention, some have no concept of how many people can actually fit into a lift, and their pool floaties. CRAZY. Don't try and use the elevators directly after the firework show on Fridays. You will be waiting a long time! -Rooms are dated, but pleasantly surprised by the size in the Rainbow Tower. -Housekeeping, non-issue. Just request daily when you arrive. -Starbucks - No mobile order. Be prepared for long lines. At 7:30 am, I was in line for almost 30 mins. Be prepared for long lines until early afternoon. -Towels - What towels! A green card gives you the privilege of obtaining one, I repeat one beach towel. The good if you're a HH Diamond Member staying on Points: -No resort fees -Daily food and beverage credit of $18 pp to use as you desire daily In summary, I would rate this property 2.5 stars. My advice, do your homework, be prepared, bring cash/credit cards, and manage your expectations.

We arrived on the afternoon of Tuesday 2 August. I had read the negative reviews so I came prepared. The queue for check in was fairly short so I presumed we’d been lucky and wouldn’t have to wait long. Wrong. I really don’t know why it took so long. I’ve checked in to a lot of hotels and this was the slowest ever! When we arrived in our room (corner suite in the tapa tower) we were impressed at the size and space in the room (2 adults, 2 children, 14&10) however there were stains on the furniture and marks on the walls. After a quick once over with my flash wipes, I felt better and quickly forgot about it. One good piece of advice is bring some bin bags with you because the bins in the room are extremely small and fill up quickly. We had maid service everyday (although I did bring extra toilet rolls after reading one review). Thankfully, we didn’t need them. The view from our room was fantastic and we had front row seats for the spectacular fireworks display on the Friday evening. A particular issue we had was regarding breakfast. We booked through trailfinders and on our hotel confirmation, it said breakfast was included. When we arrived at the hotel, they said it was only for 3 people. We contacted trailfinders and they said it was indeed for 4 people. Each morning, we got told something different by the restaurant staff. On day 5 of 6, we were told that our 10 year old ate for free and the rest of us had $30 each. Luckily, trailfinders are refunding us the $60 extra the hotel charged us for our breakfast. This confusion and frustration was clearly caused by poor communication amongst the hotel staff. The restaurant staff should know what’s going on. The hotel was busy and the pools were crowded but it wasn’t really a problem for us because we made use of the beach each day. We didn’t get sunloungers and an umbrella because it was really expensive and the queue was very big. I had also read a lot of negative reviews about the lifts. In our experience , they were busy but we always got one quickly apart from one morning when we waited 15 minutes to get out of our tower. We would have gladly used the stairs but they were only for use in an emergency and the door to outside at the bottom was alarmed. There were plenty of shops and restaurants to choose from and the grounds are beautiful. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and probably would go back. - I added some breakfast pics and a couple of pics of the view from the balcony.

We booked a stay at the resort starting on July 30, months in advance. Check-in time was 4:00 PM; we didn't arrive until after 6:00 and our room was still not ready. The staff didn't seem very concerned, even though we had a child with us. They finally offered a room with a king bed for 3 people. Our room was not ready until after 10:00 PM. This was over 6 hours after scheduled check-in. Instead of offering another night, they covered dinner. We were all exhausted and very disappointed.

Dirty Rooms, 6 + Hour wait, Over sold Hotel Rooms, Poor Room House Keeping. DIRTY SHEETS in both our rooms when checking in. Miss applied credits. Stressful and made it unenjoyable experience. Management did not respond initially but after emails and several complaints and finally until I showed video proof. They realized they have issues. To boot... Alarm was set at 6 am twice by House Keeping. They tried to make it right by providing 3 free diner coupons, free parking and a Hula Show. Still super disappointed at this experience and this was not a like pervious stays

All the bad reviews this resort has received are spot on. After reading all the negative reviews, we still decided to give the resort a try since everyone's experience is different. The resort was overcrowded, there was a shortage of poolside chairs, long line for towels every morning, crowded elevators, hefty prices for food and drink at the resort, and a chaotic check-in system. Not to mention, we have never stayed at a resort where you had to rent an umbrella & chairs on the resort's beach. I understand it is a public beach, but most resorts at minimum have a section blocked off with chairs & umbrellas provided for its guests. It is true that anyone from the public can come right on to the resort and use the pools. I witnessed this first hand. For the prices the guests are paying to use the ammenities on the property, this practice is entirely unacceptable. However, I'm giving it a 2 star rating for the impressive view from our balcony in the Rainbow Tower and the helpful service.

We appreciate you staying with us and taking the time to share your thoughts. It's great to know that our beautiful views and friendly staff added to your experience. However, we apologize for any concerns about the pools and elevators. Please note that the pools are only for use by people staying at the property. In addition, the beach rentals are run by a third party that is a separate company from the hotel. If you're in the area again, we hope you'll consider coming back to see us. Sincerely, Guest Services Manager
