We did not have a problem with the new style of the hotel, but we were clearly treated as "coupon" people from check in. We booked via Luxury escapes and although the resort was only at 60% occupancy as told to us at check in (we were there for 8 nights) , we were first offered a substandard room facing the road, with a side view of the marina/ocean. Our accommodation was supposed to be ocean view, not on the road side. They did not try to put us in the best room for that category at all. We declined the room and to get the best room we had to upgrade at extra cost to us to get the view we wanted! The staff are not happy, especially the breakfast staff, where we were again were treated like "coupon" guests with a limited breakfast menu available to us. It was obvious that because we had an included breakfast, no tip would be forthcoming and we were treated accordingly. As a matter of fact the whole tipping being added to the bill automatically meant that good service has gone by the way side and not like previously where you were served well because they wanted a tip that they deserved! They need to do something with their limited staff who were cleared not happy!…

This was our second stay at outrigger reef and since they remodeled I will give them a second review. First off they did not have the warm towels or welcome beverage at check in, also there was only the one restaurant that was open. However the hotel was still excellent! Every staff member was courteous and helpful. We had access to the voyager 47 club and it was great, breakfast every day and drinks and pupu (appetizers) in the evening live music by the pool every night, and many activities during the day. And the views… well my wife had tears in her eyes when she saw them! Once again outrigger reef made us not want to stay any other place!

We stayed for 1 night on our way to NYC. We live on Maui and travel over to Oahu often and have stayed in a lot of properties in Waikiki. This was our first stay and even though we only stayed 1 night, every one of the team we met were wonderful. From Reah at the front desk who very kindly upgraded us and helped with another request that we had, to Miho, John and Roman from the bell hop team who helped us with all our luggage. We had a lot of bags! The rooms are gorgeous as the hotel has been fully remodeled and everything was on point. The view from our balcony was also stunning. The prime location of this property is also another reason that we will be staying at here for all our future stays after receiving such great service. It was really fabulous!

Once again, the Outrigger Reef Waikiki has exceeded our expectations. The location is perfect and right on the beach. The rooms are nicely decorated and spacious. Highly recommend the Voyager 47 club for breakfast and evening cocktails and appetizers with a magnificent ocean view. After a week, the staff are like family. We appreciate So’o, Frank, Kanani, Thersa and Katrina who went out their way to make our stay special. We will absolutely return to the Outrigger Reef on our next return to Waikiki and look forward to enjoying the new oceanfront Monkeypod restaurant that will be opening soon on property.

We had the best stay ever! Hotel was fantastic. Everyone was courteous, friendly, and went out of their way to be helpful. Check in was a breeze. Valet parking was super fast and easy, and check out was thorough and appreciative of our stay. Room service was excellent! We traveled with our two adult children, so required extra toiletries and towels—room service always made sure we were good to go! Pool & hot tubs were relaxing. Pool deck has some shaded seating, but had plenty of sun, too. Beach area is limited, but we never had a problem finding space for 2-4 lounge chairs & 1-2 umbrellas (which are available right on the beach for a minimal fee). Very convenient! Beach wasn’t so rocky to not go in…we waded in every day. you can walk down Waikiki beach very easily in either direction from the hotel beach if you want more space or want to have a stroll. No long lines anywhere at the hotel (we travel to Hawaii every 3-4 years & have stayed at other Waikiki hotels and have had to wait 30 mins or more for beach towels, check in/out, valet, a cocktail, etc.) They’re staffed approximately and are very good at all their services, restaurants, & bars. We are foodies so we spent all but one morning & evening out and about trying local breakfast joints and seafood restaurants. However, I would recommend the Club Voyager. We did it one day and loved it!! Additionally, the hotel is located near many restaurants, shopping, & parks. We will be back!! Would wholeheartedly recommend the Outrigger Reef Waikiki Beach Resort!!!…

We enjoyed four nights at the Outrigger Reef Hotel., We actually made a mistake in our reservation as we wanted the sister hotel Outrigger Waikiki beach resort. Our ocean front suite was fabulous with a separate lounge , small kitchenette, enormous bathroom and two balconies. The best aspect was having two bathrooms. It’s definitely worth the extra price for the suites . The other great option was there were two connecting rooms which would be excellent for families. The suites also had access to the clubhouse which served breakfast, free drinks and canapés. We found the wine selection at the club to be terrible and mostly we couldn’t be bothered using the facility and went next door to the Halekulani Hotel for cocktails. The only real gripe we had was paying for use of the gym which was under renovation. We found the resort fee of $45 USD per day + taxes to be outrageous. Beach - rocky - reef shoes are recommended. Pool - large and deep with plenty of deck chairs Staff - All friendly, efficient and easily accessible. Suite - fabulous, clean and modern. Overall - nicely renovated hotel in an excellent location. We preferred this location as it’s not too busy like their sister property Outrigger Waikiki Beach resort. It’s only a short flat walk to everything. …

Just lovely. Brilliant spot best room I have ever had. The ocean sounds were calming and the view was spectacular. You have to pay for the privilege obviously.. but worth it. I will come every year to stay here now. Just lovely and what we needed after 3 years of front line work and our first proper holiday !! Thanks team

The outrigger was a great location (can watch sunset, walking distance to mall). They gave us a bag, water bottles and cookies since it was our honeymoon. Amenities I liked include the breakfast food, filtered water, view, and the pool/hot tub. Joenny was someone my husband and I looked forward to seeing everyday! He provides the towels with a smile and since the sunscreen is there too, we would always enjoy a nice conversation with him (he gave us wonderful recommendations).

Stayed for our honeymoon, it was a fantastic experience. We got the Voyager 47 club upgrade and the food, service, and views were amazing, everyone was so nice and to top it all off, doing the catamaran sail picking up right off the back of the building blew our minds!
