I can tell you that there were innumerable families and hetrosexual couples at the Moana Surfrider. I believe the person stating that the rainbow (and do remember that the "Pride" rainbow is a certain number of colors in a certain order) means something else in the Hawaiian culture. I have not seen the banner you are commenting about, but I don't believe what you think it's for is what it actually is for.
