My wife and I booked a room in the main house of Cedar Grove - the General Lee Suite. To start with, the house is a treasure. On the National Register of Historic Buildings and deservedly so. The house survived the siege of Vicksburg and served as lodging for General Grant after the fall of Vicksburg. You can stay in...

I didn't eat at the restaurant but had breakfast there for 3 days. It was very good. The mansion is lovely but needs some maintenance. Some places outside seemed to be waiting for a fall & there were places outside on the mansion itself that needed attention. We stayed in a cottage & it worked real well for 4 women....

Cedar Grove Mansion Inn & Restaurant at 2200 Oak Street is THE place to stay when visiting historic Vicksburg. It overlooks the Mississippi River and dates to the Civil War and is noted for having a cannonball embedded in the wall in the front parlor, courtesy of a Union gunboat bombardment in 1863. John Alexander Klein, a wealthy cotton planter/businessman,...

A group of girlfriends and I traveled to Vicksburg for a girls' weekend in April 2016. We found Cedar Grove online and decided to give it a try. We stayed in Cottage # 26. The cottage itself was ok, though it was a little worn. The main house is beautiful, and we loved the history of it, though it is...

We actually visited this lovely property several years ago (2004) but I was reminded of the stay as I was going through some older photos. My husband and I both enjoyed the stay immensely. The building itself was stunning as were the grounds. And our room - and balcony overlooking the lovely grounds - was perfection. Those individuals at the...

We stayed at Cedar Grove Inn for one night. When we pulled into the parking lot beside the carriage house, we noticed a piece of flashing from the roof hanging down and blowing in the breeze. We checked in and our room happened to be on the side of the carriage house where the flashing was blowing around. It was...

We stayed at cedar grove for 2 nights this past weekend. We had stayed at cedar grove about 12 years ago and had remembered what a nice place it was. Things have changed!!! Accommodation costs were way over priced for what we received. The home and grounds are in desperate need of repair. Our room was comfortable but chairs in...

It's been quite some time since we visited this hotel, but I can see from the reviews that it still remains well kept. We arrived very late at night, past the time that the dining room was still taking orders. We were immediately escorted to a lovely dining area, given menus, and the kitchen remained open just for us. I...

Stayed at Cedar Groves during an unexpected road trip. It didn't matter that we arrived at 7:30 on a Sunday night. The staff was welcoming and treated us with care and comfort. We had a wonderful dinner - be sure to try the blackened seafood pasta, it was amazing. Breakfast (included in the room rate) was also delicious! The mansion...

My husband and I met my sister and brother-in-law here for a 3 day stay. We loved this place and plan to return in 2016. The rooms were nice and the house is available for self guided tours inside and outside. The staff was helpful and friendly and the breakfast was amazing. The only drawback to this place is that...
