Tent camping in the forest of many lodgepole pine trees was wonderful. Here are my observations: Advantages: beautiful forest, sites not on top of each other, no noisy squirrels--only chipmunks, showers, close to restaurants & facilities, close to Hayden & Lamar Valleys for wildlife viewing Disadvantages: shared bear boxes, noisy if your site is next to generators, far to drive...

I know winter comes early in Yellowstone but all their campgrounds close way too early. It was still 72 degrees out and every last sight was booked in the whole park. This campground right in the village should be open longer. Missing the boat.

Experienced campers spent 3 nights in Canyon Village Campground in a pop-up camper. We found this a great central location to experience much of the park. Only a mile or two from the Grand Canyon so it is easy to get an early start and beat the crowd to this attraction. We stayed in a loop that had a mixture...

This campsite was much bigger than I was expecting but it still afforded a nice level of privacy on the individual sites. Excellent service at check-in. Nice toilets.Really nice place to camp. Good services at the entrance to the campsite with a small grocery store, a couple of restaurants and a couple of miscellaneous shops. Ideal.

Our family of four spent a week traveling around Yellowstone National Park. We camped at Madison, Canyon and Grant. Canyon was our favorite. Its beautiful and our site was amongst tall trees in the forest with a lovely gully. The kids loved our site. This site has good access to all the best parts of the park and would be...

I spent 5 days in this campground and got to experience tent camping for my first time. The campground is well organized and arranged, clean, and close to everything I wanted to see. All of the various loops in the campground had real washrooms which were kept spotless. The showers and laundry area were easily accessible and clean, with very...

We stayed at Canyon Campground for four nights near the end of July. The reservation process was outstanding and ensured we had a place to camp upon arrival. Check-in was smooth and friendly and easily found at the registration office shortly after the entrance into Canyon Village. Days were warm, low to mid-eighties, and nights were chilly, right at freezing...

We had a "large tent" site which barely fit our small 4 person tent. The campground is mostly a lodge pole pine forest. Close proximity to Grand Canyon of Yellowstone. Which is great for evening rim hikes and photos. Our little kids enjoyed the quick serve diner in the nearby village.

We had come just when the campground opened up for the season in June. We were really lucky as all sites get filled up very quickly - in fact you can reserve sites online as well which we didn't know. We were tent camping and paid $28/ night for 2 nights. As we were tent camping, we always look for...

Tent Only Review 1. Sites can be reserved. Tent site cost was 28 dollars per day. 2. Reservation included 2 showers per day. We received a card that indicated the amount of showers we were allowed. They crossed off the days, when we checked in for the shower. Don’t lose it. They will not issue another one. Made sure I...
