and appeared to have been recently painted, new furniture & carpet. Look, you are in the middle of Yellowstone, great area to tour, we stayed one night after having been at Old Faithful and then ended at Yellowstone Hotel...this was, for us, the perfect itinerary. Cascade Lodge and Dunraven are basically the same, Dunraven maybe a few years newer, but...

Any decent lodging int the park is expensive so get used to it. Canyon has a great location and is more than adequate although the beds are only doubles and not queens. Staff is courteous and efficient. Dunraven Lodge has an elevator and is right next door, otherwise identical. Buy food at grocery stores in towns before you come.

Stayed at the Cascade Lodge for 5 day stay in Yellowstone. Great central location base for travel throughout the park. Room was on the second floor, light airy. We parked our vehicle at Cascade and enjoyed the short walk to food and the visitors center in this location. Enjoyed having no TV in the room. Cell service is spotty throughout...

The Cascade Lodge is a nice building and provides reasonable quality, hotel type rooms at a premium price. The rooms are fairly large and very comfortable. The best thing about Canyon Lodge is being close to the Grand Canyon of Yellowstone. Considering that the franchise for all of Yellowstone is held by Xanterra, we were surprised at the variation in...

We had requested Dunraven Lodge, but were allocated 'a really nice room' on the ground floor at Cascade. This turned out to be 106, one of the darkest rooms I have seen, looking out onto a wall. We went straight back to reception and asked if it could be changed as we were return visitors, were there for three nights...

We spent 2 nights at Cascade Lodge( August 13-14) and loved it. We asked for and received a top floor room - it faced north-ish toward the little stream running through the back side of the lodge, but also toward the parking lot. Since we were just about the first ones up each morning, that wasn't a problem! It was...

Canyon is a great location to explore many areas of the park. Cascade Lodge was definitely newer than most others. Very clean, bright, and welcoming after long day of exploration. The biggest bonus was the dining options on the property, the large general store, and the fabulous visitors center all within walking distance.

We had a very nice stay for one night. The room and bathroom were updated and clean. There were two double beds and a table, plenty of room to stretch out. Keurig and hair dryer in the room. Check in was easy and the service was pleasant. The location was good and the buildings in this area didn't interrupt their...

No one spends any time in their room in Yellowstone. A room with two double beds was great for a family of four. Cascade lodge in the Canyon is a great place centrally located to everything in Yellowstone. The cafeteria left a lot to be desired, but the General store made up for that.

On our two-day drive through Yellowstone in July, we spent one night at Canyon Lodge in the Cascade Lodge building. We paid a premium price for this very basic room, but the location is well worth that price. If you really want to see all the highlights of Yellowstone, you should allow a minimum of one full day for the...

“They evidently assign rooms to people ahead of time. Maybe if you talk to their reservations you can get in Dunraven.”

“We stayed on the ground floor, but I think that an upper floor may have been preferred as we could hear those above us moving around.”

“No wifi in the Cascade or Dunraven Lodge but you can get Verizon....in fact, you can get Verizon in most of the park sporadically and only Verizon seemed to work. Glad we had it. Wi-fi is available for a fee at the dinner room lounge but beware -- if you buy for 24 hours and you go to another park lodge, you have to pay again. Purchase just an hour, download and then upload your email. Bring a folding chair...great for sitting next to the creek behind Cascade. Choose rooms in the back of Cascade and Dunraven due to the construction going on for the new lodge.”
