I paid double the normal rate through trip.com. When I arrived they had no record my reservation from Trip.com. The manager on duty said that Trip.com has been scamming lots of people who show up thinking they have a reservation but in reality they have no place to stay. Trip.com takes your money then never actually makes a reservation. Curry Village / Aramark Concessions currently has a cease and desist out with Trip.com which is a Chinese based company.
Curry Village Heated Tent Cabin with two single beds and one full size bed. This sleeping tent has exactly what you need and nothing more. We had two beautiful days in the park. I was surprised that they had a couple hundred tents and cabins at Curry village. We were glad to have the heater and an electric outlet for our phones. It is a wonderful way for many families to enjoy this gorgeous valley. The tent was impeccably clean with nice sheets and a light comforter and clean towels. The bathrooms were a short walk and also very clean and well utilized. The parking can be a bit of a walk from your tent-I did not expect this, but we were allowed to safely drop our bags closer and then park.
We stayed in a room in Stonemans House for 2 nights Location is stunning with amazing views The room was great with 3 double beds, one was upstairs so be good for a family Beds are quite small and you did need the extra blankets provided at night Shower was clean and very powerful Parking very near the room too We had no issue with check in. Only took a couple of minutes Only criticism is the food and lack of availability The only food available for dinner was from the pizza deck where you had to queue for ages to get served and then wait 20 mins for your food. Lunch was pre packed with nothing fresh on offer from the restaurant inside. We used to go elsewhere for lunch It’s not cheap but def worth staying in the park as you are so near to everything
We stayed in one of the heated tents near the main area. It was a lovely stay. We were warm and cosy at night and close to the toilets and showers. The showers has all the soap and shampoo already there which was really helpful and the tents came with towels. The main lounge has a lovely roaring fire. It was lovely to take a glass of wine in there in the evening and snuggle in chatting to other travellers. There was a bit too much single use plastic in the canteen, which felt odd given everyone there no doubt loves nature and the environment. We noticed this throughout California but it felt particularly out of place in such a beautiful natural environment. It was also very helpful to have communal bear boxes to use after we had checked out when we wanted to go for a walk. The general store and mountain shop were great. …
