Looks like it was built in the 1970's and has never been updated. The AC unit was a joke - it was a stand alone box unit with a tube going out the window but the window had to be opened for it to exhaust outside - truly a ridiculous idea that doesn't work as way more hot air is...

This is the second time we have stayed at the Pioneer Lodge. Great location in the heart of Springdale...which is the gateway to Zion. Nice views....rooms are pretty basic but clean. Decent value. Plenty of places to eat within walking distance

Great place to stay to experience the ambience of the park. We were lucky enough to have a cabin - defintely preferable to the larger multi-room wings. Deer munching on the lawn in front of us during the early evening hours and nice hike to Emerald Pools directly across from the lodge. No mini-fridge, but ice machine and cooler worked...

Pioneer Lodge was centered smack dab in the middle of town, where you could literally step out the door and walk across the street to dining and shopping. Shuttle stop was right out front, grocery store a hundred yards away, and attached restaurant was perfect for breakfast the next morning. (you've got to try the 'scones', more like an Indian...

We were extremely happy with our stay at the Pioneer Lodge. It is centrally located within walking distance to many great restraurants and we also bypassed the nearby shuttle and walked to The Zion entrance. The staff was very pleasant and helpful and the rooms were clean and well kept. Our overall hiking trip was awesome and we would definely...

We stayed one night at the Zion Park Lodge. It was a large, comfortable, well appointed room with a spectacular view from the porch. The only negative was the restaurant associated with the hotel. It was overpriced, mediocre food. We should have known when there was no one else in the place at dinner time.

At the edge of town, maybe a 5 minute drive to Zion Ntl Park entrance. Beds were comfy, Toilet and shower in the bathroom while thesink was right outside the bathroom door. We really liked having a fridge and microwave in the room. We ate breakfast at the restaurant across the parking lot (you get a discount of you stay...

I only stayed one night in the Pioneer Lodge, but if I come back through this way, I would definitely stay there again. The room was clean and the staff was friendly. It's a little further down the street from the Zion entrance than other hotels, but it's still an easy walk or shuttle ride up to the park.

The room was decorated nicely and the beds were fantastic after all the hiking we did. It is located in the midst of many restraunts. So walking to them was easy.We especially enjoyed Baby Sumo for some excellent sushi. The pool looked beautiful but it was a little too cool for us to try swimming. The housekeeping and lobby staff were...
