The view of the mountains from the guest house is amazing. You may be unlucky and not get a bungalow with a nice view, but the location has a peaceful and relaxing feel about it. There can be a bit of cockerel noise but that's part of the fun. The bungalows we stayed in was 60k with hard wooden floors,...

We were there 2 nights and enjoyed our stay. We arrived late at night and they were nice enough to wait for us even if we didn't have a reservation. The room we had was good, basic but we weren't here to stay in the room anyway. I would recommend to rent a bike and go around, it is so...

This guesthouse is nestled amongst trees, a river, rice paddies, and a rooster farm. Wishy is the main bloke who assisted us helpfully and comically throughout our stay, who offered great advice on excursions for the serious minded or activities for the drinking kind. There are different options of rooms located throughout the spacious land depending on your budget. We...

In an otherwise busy town this place is a sanctuary across the river. The food is good and fair priced and the owner has a great personality. Some people confuse for him being cranky but I find it to be be refreshing. He's Irish!!! The views of the mountains are breath taking and there is a wonderful garden to overlook...

I think that this place is overrated. Surely the price is very competitive, but the rooms are extremely basic and with their share of bugs (well, I guess this is normal for bungalows in the outskirts of town) and only few of them are in a position that allow you to see the mountains nearby. Bed linens most likely haven't...

The Maylyn guesthouse is a little bit remote from the most crowded part of Vang Vieng, and thanks to this you can find heavenly peace here - not recommended for chronic partygoers. Me and my wife choosed this place after visiting several other locations nearby - because of low prices combined with European standard of rooms and toilet. Well, this...

The reviews in lonely planet let this place down a little. The wild but trimmed garden path that leads to the rooms is full of flowers and arches. We stayed in a shared bathroom place for one night and then in one with an ensuite. Both rooms were spotless, big with clean towels and mosquito guards on the windows. The...

river. Vang vieng has a party side and a quiet side and this guesthouse is on the quiet side of the river. It wil take you roughly 5 minutes to get to the other side though so if you like a good sleep in the guesthouse and a good party nearby, but not in your guesthouse, this is the place...

I stayed 4 nights at the end of October - Early November. The scenery here is fantastic. Its across the toll bridge (4000 kip to cross both ways) and there is also a free bridge just around the corner but I wouldn't take it alone at night. There is a safety deposit box in the room (bring your own lock)....

We were looking for a welcome rest after hard consecutive days cycling to get here so were a little disappointed with the blank faces of female staff & grumpy male owner. The room was clean but had we been told about the other rooms with scenic views around the pretty garden for the same price we'd have been much happier....

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
We are a budget guest house/mini eco resort. We are on the edge of a village our rear faces towards the Karst mountains. We are located next door to the beautiful and expensive Vieng Tara Hotel. We have a variety of rooms some are simple basic timber frame and bamboo bungalows for people who want a more authentic SE Asian experience and we do have more conventional masonry rooms for those who need them. The main appeal of our place is the location, the views and of course our Garden which at times is full of butterflies. Early wet season is best for the butterflies. I recognise that we may not be what everyone is looking for but many people love us.. ... more   less
