Elephant Crossing is on the river and therefore nearly all rooms get a view, the great news is this is still a fairly budget savvy place to stay so you get the best of cost and the view that some of the other far more expensive places also have. Breakfast was included - buffet including cereal if wanted, all on...

We came here after spending 2 nights at another hotel in Vang Vieng and wish we had come here from the start. The rooms are small but smart and clean with balcony overlooking the Nam Song river and Karst mountains which are breathtaking. Breakfast buffet was excellent and staff very friendly.

After an amazing road trip over the mountains from Vientiane, we were thrilled to arrive at The Elephant Crossing Hotel. The hotel as promised is on the lovely Nam Song river with wonderful views of the limestone mountains and beyond. The view from our Upstairs room was stunning. I understand some of the lower level rooms may have obstructed views....check....

Even though the air cond in the room was not working, the water pressure inside the bathroom was weak, the water at the wash basin was blocked and only staircase, however it didnt stop us from loving the great morning mountain view that covered by mist. Love also the location of this hotel that is just right beside the river...

A great hotel run by and Australian ex-pat and her Laotian husband, and it shows. The grounds are immaculate, the staff very accommodating, and the hotel is located right on the banks of the river and affords you with some of the most amazing views possible. The rooms are able to be cooled dramatically, and the hotel is close to...

Stayed 2 nights in vang vieng which was mistake one - vang vieng must be the most boring town in Asia - full of young backpackers lying around watching old re-runs of "friends" on tv in bad restaurants. It's a pity vang vieng has gone this route as its a beautiful location. Hotel is idically situated on river with views...

we came back here after 4 years and it's still a great place at the quieter end of Vang Vieng, well trained staff with reasonable english skills, stunning location, small rooms with good sleep quality and a superb riverside terrace for breakfast and dinner

The hotel is pretty big. Rooms are ok and the location is in a quite area in front of the river. I would say that the service is not at Top Level, lazy staff with some problems with English not always prompt. But ... You are on vacations, so you should be more comprehensive. You are in Asia, so you...

The Elephant Crossing was very nice and has incredible views. Breakfast included with nicely made eggs and a small buffet. Right on the Song river and overlooking incredible mountain scenery reminiscent of the strange peaks of Halong Bay, Vietnam. Very nice!
