Ruhunu Safari Camping operates two luxury tented safari camps in Sri Lanka. Established in 2009, we run premium safaris in Yala National Park which has the highest concentration of leopards per square kilometre in the world & Udawalawe National Park which has Sri Lanka's largest population of Asian elephants. Our specialist guides & trackers speak several languages & have an in depth knowledge of the mammals, birds, reptiles & insects found in Sri Lanka to give guests a memorable wild life experience. We also offer our guests a number of other exciting tours such as birding at Bundala National Park, an internationally important wintering ground for migratory water birds and famed for its large flocks of flamingoes. Our luxury tented camp surrounded by lush tropical jungle provides our guests with an hotel standard of accommodation . The cuisine is a combination of European & Sri Lankan dishes from locally grown organic crops. Our guest experience evokes a bygone age combining luxury & adventure.

Hi Andy, Thanks for your review & we're pleased you had a great time. Our staff, as you mentioned, try their very best to make every guest's time with us the best possible & they really appreciate your kind comments & we're happy you got to see some of the big game animals such as leopards. Also, thanks for the constructive criticism. If we don't know where we need to improve we can't improve so we really appreciate the feedback. You're right that building & operating a camp in the bush has its challenges but we aim for a great guest experience all the time & we mainly manage that as you can see from our reviews. We're sorry your shower 'tripped' when you used it. We've looked for the problem & fixed it not that it's a consolation for you now but thanks for mentioning it again. The stains on the tent canvas comes from the trees above & around the tent. When it rains & some of the trees are bearing fruit the natural colourants stain the tent canvas. We wash them during our maintenance periods. We have an itinerary which is in the FAQ which we send guests & also a camp briefing when guests arrive but sometimes we have to be flexible around the itinerary. To sum up; we're pleased you liked the experience & thanks for your comments which we believe we've fixed. You're welcome back anytime. Cheers. Simon & Isuru

We stayed for three days and found the experience to be exceptional. The food was fantastic and the staff went out of their way to accomodate us. When in the game park the driver found all the hard to find animals and prepared lunch. I would highly recommend this safari.
