Stayed at Norwood bungalow on this estate. It's all inclusive and we could not have been treated to more luxury and care. From choosing your meals directly with the chef to pre and post dinner drinks in front of a roaring fire everything is delivered...More
After a slightly disappointing arrival (we were directed to arrive at the Somerville bungalow, but no one was there to meet us. We then saw a member of the staff who was unhelpful and told us to ring our bungalow (Castlereagh) We did so and...More

Thank you Hillary for your great review. My sincere apologies for the unacceptable arrival coordination which is being investigated. Warm wishes, Malik
The setting is good if not far from everything else you'll visit while in Sri Lanka. You can take a sea plane which makes it easier though I don't know the cost. Other than the setting, the hotel leaves a lot to be desired. Services...More

I'm sorry that we disappointed you, although your comments seemingly refer to another resort.
In July we spent 3 splendid nights at Dunkeld bungalow on the Dunkeld tea estate. Although the journey to Dunkeld was quite long and arduous(look carefully at your itinerary and distances as road travel is time consuming - or spend the money to fly in...More
Everyone has already raved about tea trails; yes, it's all true. The staff are amazing, the room is huge, the bathroom a delight. The food is sensational. The setting is superb. We were in Dunkeld Bungalow, near the Dilmah tea factory. I don't know about...More

Without doubt Castlereagh bungalow has great views across the valley and man made lake. The swimming pool is in the grounds slightly away from the suites. It is very well maintained. The whole bungalow has a colonial ambiance with polished wood flooring, very comfortable sofas and chairs and the staff are fantastically attentive.
We have stayed here twice and wouldn't wish to stay anywhere else if in this area again.

We took the suggestion of trying 2 different Bungalows and we didn't regret staying up away from the water and then down by it. I don't think you'd regret visiting any of them as they generate very similar high standards.

You need to ask the hotel or your travel agent as room rates varie all the time. There is no airport nearby unless you indulge in the ultimate luxury and take a seaplane which gets you right in front of the hotel from anywhere in Sri Lanka. It's not cheap but a fabulous experience.
Enjoy your trip to this truly unique place.
