We travel a lot and stay in all sorts of upmarket places, but it is rare when they ask what they can to improve you can't think of anything! Staff are excellent with just the right level of attentiveness, food fantastic, rooms very comfortable and well appointed. One thing to consider is we stayed 2 nights, but our tea factory...

A most beautiful estate high in the hills with fabulous views all around. Large spacious rooms very comfortable but no need to spend time in your room, there is a comfortable lounge room with games, books, drinks, and fireplace. Food was especially good and they will make anything you want. A special mention to the wonderful Sanath who definately made...

We married in Sri Lanka earlier on our trip and this hotel and setting in the tea plantations was definitely something I was really looking forward to, it certainly didn't disappoint. We arrived at the Summerville Bungalow having come from Kandy by car, we found out you can travel by train from Kandy to Hatton and the station is only...

The Dunkeld estate has four large colonial bungalows that have each been converted into 5 bed boutique accomodation. From the time of our arrive I could not fault any aspect of our stay. Each of the Bungalows have their own butler, chef and service staff. We stayed in the Castlereagh Bungalow. The food was the best we experienced on our...

My husband and I spent a wonderful 3 nights in the Fraser Garden suite at the Tientsin bungalow. We arrived at about 10am after a 4 hour drive from Colombo and long flights from the uk and were welcomed with open arms. Our room was made available almost immediately and a sandwich (and tea) offered - there was no question...

From the moment we checked in (to the Norwood Bungalow) until we left we were taken care of and pampered. Our butler and the rest of the staff were always there to ensure we had everything we needed. The food was incredible. The chef spoke to us each day about the menu and adjusted the meals to our preferences. He...

We stayed for 2 nights in the cheapest room in the Dunkeld bungalow, which was nevertheless huge (I had imagined it might be poky), with a bathroom the size of many hotel rooms with a huge shower, free-standing bath, and double sinks. I think the only difference is that this room doesn't have access directly to a couple of chairs...

This was quite the most impressive place we have ever stayed. The five bungalows are all set within magnificent tea plantations some with lake views. We stayed in the Allen room in dunked bungalow which was the cheapest room but lovely nonetheless. It had twin beds pushed together and an enormous bathroom which I want in my home back in...

The Dunkeld bungalow with Sanjaya's wonderful service is not to be missed. It's a perfect blend of gracious hospitality, comfortable surroundings, great food and the most amazing views of the lake. The staff are near but never intrusive, happy to give you anything you want. Ask for their lovely light tea and Rice/Curry, much the best thing to eat there.
