Hello It's for the second time that we have been a week to the hotel 'Juan don Matalbaths' in the city of Coban in Guatemala. It felt like coming home... : the owners of the hotel, Patricia and her husband, do everything to arrange things as good as possible to make our staying a real pleasure. Even the staff (Claudia,...

Rooms great, quiet(ish) (noise from outside only), VERY helpful staff, good location, HUGE breakfast, safe, secure .. would definitely recommend. Felt homely, comfortable & had a nice colonial feet to it. Nice range of people staying & although quite a few rooms, felt very private.

We arrived on a rainy night and found out the parking place was very limited and messy, cars had to be moved like puzzle to figure out a space. When we saw the room, it is quite humid, badly furnished. Only appliance in the room were THREE beds, a tv and a cupboard...NONE OF THE sheets from all 3 beds...

The owners of this hotel made us feel right at home. Upon arrival, we got some welcome drinks and they helped us with trips and travel information. The hosts were very friendly and interested in our journey. The rooms look brand new (upstairs) and the beds were fresh and clean. Because the rooms are not orientated at the street, a...

We stayed two nights here, although we weren't in Coban for long as we were in Semuc Champey for one day. Rooms were comfortable, parking was tight but well managed. We were by the road which was noisy but gave us the opportunity to watch all the comings and goings of the market. What made the experience great was the...

The hotel is located on a busy market street and can be hard to find. Very central, 2 minutes from the main square. I found the hotel noisy, the noise from the market woke me up at 5 am. The room was very clean, as well as the shared bathroom. The hotel restaurant serves good food but is placed next...

The staff here were amazing and attentive. I order food here which while the serving was on the small size the food (fish) was delicious. Showers were hot with good water pressure. Internet was strong everywhere. Bed was comfortable. The downside was it was noisy before 6 am every morning. I heard people within the hotel area clearing their throats...

Don Juan Matalbatz is a nice little hotel near the market of Coban, theyhave recently expanded, so their most recent rooms are a bit nicer. Rooms are roughly 3x4 meters with a bathroom, flat tv screen, two beds and a small desk, which makes them feel a bit cramped. Services are alright, Internet connection is good. Towels are on the...
