Although I Live in Miami, in a beautifull bayfront condo, when I think about relaxing vacations the only site that comes to my mind is Derek's Place in Little Corn Island in the Nicaraguan Caribbean sea. Besides the rustic cabanas made of local materials but equiped with very confortable high end mattreses, the place is located in the most beautiful...

We loved our stay in the Beach House cabana aka Casa Grande for 6 nights in March 2017. Derek's is a beautiful jungle/sea side natural environment that is well worth the short hike through the jungle, or along the beach to get there. Our accommodations were large, rustic, unique and perfectly located at the edge of the property nearest the...

Unique and creative accommodations - each with its own "personality". Clean. Comfortable. Incredible location, 20 min walk from harbor. Easy access to many different beaches and snorkeling spots. Great dive center with quick access to island's best spots. Best hammocks ever. Wonderful food, totally laid back atmosphere. Spent 7 nights - loved getting to hang with owner and staff, pets,...

We spent five nights at Derek´s. The location is absolutely beautiful - looks like hippie paradise. The huts have lots of funny little details and rustic charm. The beach isn’t very well kept, but the hammocks on the green grass are wonderful. The best beach of the island, Yemaya, is only a ten minute walk away. All the meals are...

I spent last week staying in the beach bungalow (Casa Grande) right on the beach at Derek's Place. This remote property is one of the most beautiful spots on the island. You have the constant winds from the north that cool you even in the hot sun (and keeps away any potential mosquitoes you often find on other parts of...

We didn't stay but we stopped by for a midday beer as we were staying next door. Everyone was super friendly, they had some guitars which I played while enjoying a drink. There's a dive shop attached and they were also very helpful with renting snorkel gear.

This place is a real one of a kind. It's not for everyone, but if you like to do things differently, you've got to give it a try. It's an out of the way spot which means all the modern conveniences are not at your fingertips. For some of us, that's just perfect, but we heard from others staying at...

Derek's place is nice and quiet, but it has some serious flaws. Don't expect to pay with credit card, they may tell you its okay, but if you try and settle your bill with a card, you will be angrily yelled at by the owner. What an unpleasant way to end our trip. Derek's is pretty far away. This can...

Sorry that you did not enjoy your time. We take safety VERY seriously, constantly replacing and servicing equipment. If your reg leaked water it was probably a simple thing like sand in the purge. Easily taken care of but if you notice it underwater than you should switch to your secondary and alert the dive master or instructor. There are...

Stayed at Derek's with a friend. As two solo female travelers, I wouldn't return. It is isolated in the north of the island. We like to meet locals, and this place is far from the main village. The jungle trail is unlit, unmarked and confusing. About a 25 min walk to restaurants, bars etc. it was somewhat intimidating at night...

Long over-due review, but wanted to be sure to post here. We visited last year to Little Corn Island. We pre-paid one night, but upon arrival, the owner acted as though we were a complete inconvenience. After a brief conversation about switching to a smaller room--the owner Anna lost it. Although we mentioned that we would have no problem paying...

Well, to be blunt, this is a crap, fake review that I have asked tripadvisor to remove. This did not happen and I hope Karma comes around to bite in the backside whoever wrote it to smear us. Otherwise I hope everyone out there reading this has a wonderful vacation wherever they choose to stay. We also have diving on...
